We stayed here for a 2 night stay using the Buy A Gift Voucher. There was a continental breakfast included in the voucher, but we chose to upgrade and purchase the full English breakfast at at cost of £7.50 per person per night. The breakfast was lovely, very well cooked and nicely presented. The hosts Annie and Alex were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They are obviously very proud of their guest house and rightly so, it really is lovely. Our room was very clean and extremely comfortable. There was a service tray in the room with kettle and was well stocked with coffee & tea bags etc. The location is excellent very close to Peasholm Park and the North Bay only a few minutes stroll away. Parking was via permit provided by the hosts and we were able to park right outside the accommodation. We can wholly recommend this guest house.

Lovely guest house within walking distance of beautiful peasholme Park and the North Bay. We was met upon arrival by the lovely Annie who brought us a welcome cuppa and made us feel very relaxed straight away. We was given a first floor family room for my elderly mother and I which was very tasteful and clean again with welcoming kittens and tea/coffee etc. The beds were very comfy and bathroom spotless. We felt safe in these hard times of corvid as hand sanitiser was at the start of the entrance etc and was advised to keep distance if we could on landings etc. The breakfast was very much to our liking and they cooked my eggs perfecto as I'm a little awkward in how I like them. I would definately stay again as the hosts were so friendly , accommodating and interesting.
They has only been in 6 weeks, bless and left a very good impression on us.
Thanks again you guys. X

I stayed at St Michael's for 4 wonderful nights.

The guesthouse is brilliantly located near Peasholm Park and North Bay Beach, and is 15 minutes from the town centre.

It's also a brilliant place to stay if you're planning on doing the Cleveland Way as there's an X94 bus stop 3 minutes' walk from the guesthouse (and an X93 stop outside the station 0.7 miles away).

My room was perfect: spotless room, double bed that was so cosy I didn't want to get out of it in the mornings, ensuite shower with good, steady water pressure and temperature, fluffy grey towels, and other brilliant touches that made me feel utterly spoilt (including a complimentary chocolate bar for each night of my stay!).

Annie and Alex have instituted great Covid safety measures (sanitiser points throughout the guesthouse, asking people to keep a distance, etc.) which really set my mind at ease. They're also cracking conversationalists who made me feel at ease from when I walked in.

I can't wait to go back!

Annie and Alex were the perfect hosts with a great guest house. They were very helpful providing information about where to go, how to get around and the best places to eat in the town and surrounding area. The room was well decorated with all you would need including towels, welcome tray and toiletries. The breakfasts were freshly cooked and there was a good choice. Great location; walking distance to Peasholme Park and North Bay and a short bus ride or walk to South Bay, where the Southern Star boat was in the harbour. A perfect home from home. Would definitely recommend.

What a beautiful, cozy guest house! Annie and Alex are wonderful hosts and nothing too much trouble for them. The chilled water for the room when we arrived as well as a very welcome cuppa was just what we needed.
We are a family of 3 and had the beautifully decorated family room. It was spotlessly clean (as was the rest of the house) and very comfortable. The tray of teas, coffee and chocolate biscuits was a lovely touch. The en-suite bathroom was large and had a good shower and lovely big sink which my hubby particularly appreciated when shaving.
One of the true highlights was Alex’s cooked breakfast. A lovely choice of food and cooked to perfection. They even catered for our Gluten Free daughter so we had no worries about her getting ill.
The location at the north bay side of Scarborough is ideal for access to the open air theatre, Alphamere and Sea Life. We’ve never stayed in this part of Scarborough before but now prefer it as a base as there’s really good access to the local amenities.
We highly recommend this lovely guest house and can’t wait to book a return visit.

We have visted St Michaels many times and arrived on Friday to find it had new owners. I was a little apprehensive as to the the old owners, Glyn and Dee, we werent just 'guests', we were friends.
The new owner opened the door and saw the shocl on my face . Poor Alex lol. He explained that they were the new owners and had been for just 2 weeks.
Again, apprehension. I struggle with change.
The guest house/hotel was just as we had anticipated. To say Alex and Annie had only been there for 2 weeks, they were amazing . So friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They welcomed us with a cup of tea and a chat, making us feel very welcome. They had hit the ground running as they had taken bookings over from the previous owners, a lot of returning customers.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good value, very well presented and good portions, perfectly cooked by Alex whilst Annie made sure everything was ok and made sure her guests were happy.

Alex and Annie may be new to the hotel business, but I am certain they will be a huge success.
St Michaels is definitely still our favourite hotel in Scarborough. We look forward to many more visits.

We Stayed with Annie and Alex for two nights and they made our stay a joy. Nothing is too much trouble offering to dry our wet clothes after we got caught in the rain. They really care about their guests. The rooms are immaculate and simple touches like Kit Kat bars with coffee show the attention to detail.
The cooked breakfast is excellent a great start to the day and again nothing is too much trouble.
We will be back

My husband and I have just had a really lovely stay at St Michaels with hosts Annie and Alex.
From being made a cuppa on arrival as we checked in, to our huge fluffy towels, comfy beds and wonderful breakfast, it was a perfect stay.
Annie and Alex are the best hosts, friendly, chatty and genuinely interested in talking to you, there home is lovely.
Our room (room 6) was on the top floor and was large with the bonus of a sofa in too. The bed was comfortable and the en-suite was a lot larger than many we’ve had, plus there were toiletries too. There were plenty of hangers in the wardrobe, full size mugs to drink our Yorkshire tea in, Blue Ribbon biscuits to nibble on and even an umbrella and hairdryer in the drawer. They’ve certainly thought of everything.
Now don’t all go rushing to book in so that it’s full when we want to return, but honestly I can’t recommend St Michaels and Annie and Alex highly enough. Super Hosts and genuinely lovely people.
The location is great as it’s only about a 5-8 minute walk downhill to the beach and bus terminus, and the entrance to Peasholme park is just across the road.
Thank you for making us feel so welcome, I’m already planning our return.

We were given a very warm welcome by our lovely hosts, Annie and Alex. The bedroom was very clean with a lovely comfortable double bed and a well stocked hospitality tray (including kitkats), we were given a bottle of chilled water to take upto our room and we found a chocolate on each of our pillows when we arrived.
The hotel is very well situated, very near to Peasholm park and not too far to walk into town.
We were given parking permits for the duration of our stay so we could park right outside.
We found a lovely cafe/bar just down the road "The Hideout."
Will definitely be returning.

From the moment I spoke to Annie on the phone I knew we would have a super stay and so it proved to be. When we arrived Annie immediately put the kettle on and made us a lovely cuppa. we had a chat and settled in. The room was spotless as was the bathroom and equipped with everything one might need, including plenty of tea, coffee milk and water refilled as required. Annie and Alex were super friendly and couldn't do enough for us. On one occasion when I struggled to find parking late on I phoned Alex and within minutes found him out on the pavement ,in his socks locating a place for us. If that not service above and beyond I don't know what is.
We loved our stay with you which was only too brief.

The car parking is on street parking in disc zones. We supply the disc/scratch card to display in your windscreen free of charge. You just need to make sure that you park in Zone 3B. As far as we are aware that has been no damage to any cars that have been parked while we have owned St Michael's.
