We stayed at The Beaches for 2 nights over New Year. We paid for a package which included bed and breakfast, a buffet on NY Eve and the best roast beef dinner on NY Day! The breakfast was amazing, anything you wanted and nothing was too much trouble, even the dogs got sausages! The rooms are a very good size and had everything you needed, tea and coffee making facilities in your room, soap, shower gel, everything has been thought of. The Beaches is in a great location it is a short walk from the beach and Peasholm Park. Janice and Malcolm are perfect hosts and made us and our 2 dogs very welcome, we would definitely recommend. We stayed for three nights, but would have loved to stay longer. Janice and Malc were the most excellent of hosts, being attentive but not intrusive. Our room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, with lovely little touches (mini fridge for the milk, fan for the room, bistro set to sit out on the balcony and Malc's homemade flapjack, which looking at previous reviews was the stuff of legend. It most certainly didn't disappoint). Our breakfasts (I had a lovely fruit salad before my cooked breakfast) were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Not only were the two legged guests looked after but our four legged friends were truly spoilt (they certainly don't get sausages for breakfast at home and now we have returned from our stay they have looked at me with contempt each morning as I have only produced dry food!!). We decided on Sunday evening, after smelling the delicious scents coming from the dining room on Saturday, to have an evening meal. We went for the three course option and were again thrilled by the quality of the food, Malc is a most excellent chef and you most certainly get value for money (better than eating out!). I was sorry to have to say goodbye on Monday morning and I'm already looking for an excuse to return. I think a few of my work colleagues may also be paying a visit (for Malc's flapjack if nothing else). Janice and Malc keep up the good work; you have a wonderful guest house.

We Love staying at the Beaches !.
The owners Malcolm & Janice make you feel welcome & from the 1st minute nothing is ever too much trouble.
The rooms are spotless, nice & bright, the beds are comfy & the bed linen is always crisp & clean. We've stayed in 3 of the 5 rooms during our visit, all are just as good & we always get a good nights sleep. We like to visit Scarborough with our Beagle Pepper & The Beaches is ideal as its pet friendly and only a short walk down to the beach.
For breakfast there's plenty of choice (cereal, toast, fresh fruit, yoghurts, fruit juices etc).
The cooked breakfast is spot on and always cooked to perfection. You get a tick sheet in your room each day for you to choose what you'd like so you know exactly what you're getting, (this also cuts down waste). The dog even gets her own breakfast of sausage & scrambled egg which we think is a really nice touch (and the dog loves). If you're looking at visiting Scarborough for a night or two give the Beaches a try you wont be disappointed, neither will your fury friend (if you bring them along).

We have just returned from a lovely stay at The Beaches in Scarborough. We enquired about our stay very last minute, the morning of the day we wanted to stay, as we were struggling to find anywhere who would accept dogs. Luckily for us Janice and Malcolm were more than happy for us to bring our dog Frankie with us and had one room left. They let us book in with very short notice which we know many would not have. Our room was clean and homely and included all the usual things you need for a stay away, as well as having Netflix on the TV, which was great after a long day walking around Scarborough, to relax in the room and watch the show we’ve been watching at home. There was also some essentials for our dog Frankie in the room. This was a really nice extra special touch. The breakfast selection was great and everything we had was delicious. We opted for a full english breakfast our first morning which definitely didn’t disappoint. I had porridge with Malcolm’s home made jam and a pain aux chocolate for our second morning. It was great that there were appetising options other than a cooked breakfast as you don’t always want a big breakfast every morning. Frankie was even spoilt to a doggy breakfast by being offered sausage and scrambled egg in the breakfast room which he gobbled up in no time. Janice and Malcolm really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome with our dog and to say the are pet friendly is an understatement, they are a pet loving hotel. The hotel is in a great location of Scarborough on the north bay and right near Peasholme park and the north bay beach. It’s just a 20 minute walk over to the south bay or you can walk along the coast which takes a little longer but is worth it for the view and sea breeze. We would definitely stay at The Beaches again and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay with their dog. Free parking was also included and the flapjacks were yummy ;)

We had a fantastic mini break with you at The Beaches and you made us feel so welcome from checking in the the morning we left and that nothing was too much trouble for us and our dog, Archie.
The room was great and we were able to let in the sea air in a morning
A real treat was letting us eat fish and chips in the evening we arrived. You made us feel super cosy with the fire on, a great pot of tea and bread and butter - this really made us feel like it was home from home
Breakfast was fantastic and filled us up all day with great choices for both myself who’s veggie and my husband who’s a meat eater, Archie loved his breakfast too and licked the bowl clean.
The room was lovely and clean with a great choice of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and busicuts. Also we did notice how many plugs and usb charges were available which really is a thoughtful touch as this is usually not the case - really showed us that you have thought of everything for your guests
We will definitely be back as it was not only a fantastic place to stay it’s also in a great location for the beach, peasholm park and the town centre so we were able to be out all day walking and sightseeing
Thank you Chris and Janey we will see you soon

To be honest I probably can't say anything that hasn't already been said in previous reviews.
Spotless and comfortable rooms, fantastic breakfast (our border terrier Maggi enjoyed her scrambled eggs for breakfast too), nothing too much trouble for fantastic hosts Chris and Janey ... The prosecco and chocolates for valentine's weekend was a lovely touch ... Can't recommend highly enough and when we return to Scarborough Beaches will be the first property we will check for availablity ..?? Thanks Chris and Janey for a wonderful stay!

We recently had a second stay at The Beaches after a last minute decision to get away for a short break and as always our stay didn’t disappoint.
Malc and Janice are fabulous hosts and can’t do enough to make your stay just perfect. The Guest House is spotlessly clean in every area and although it’s very dog friendly you really wouldn’t know! We took our dog for the stay and she was made extremely welcome... a little too welcome my husband would argue as she got more sausages than him for breakfast! But then she did order just sausage where he’d ordered full English ☺️ Stayed in Room 4, spacious, clean, with a generous tea tray and plenty of fresh milk in the mini fridge, nice touches with dog blanket/mat and wine glasses at the ready!
Great location too being near Peasholme Park and the beach, plenty of fab cafes and bars nearby again all dog friendly. Parking readily available and free with parking permit provided.
Ohh nearly forgot the breakfast! amazing choice all expertly cooked by Malc, piping hot, freshly cooked and topped off by toast with Malc’s homemade marmalade..... simply perfect. The farewell gift of freshly homemade flapjack completed another amazing stay at The Beaches.

I stayed at the beaches for 2 nights with my 9 year old son and sister and we had an amazing time .
The B and B is in a perfect location with places to eat and family fun on your doorstep.
The hosts were very welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations of places to go.
We stayed in one of the family rooms which was clean comfy and just what we needed , especially the home made flapjack that was in our room (worth going for that alone , delicious) .
Breakfast was definitely one of the best I have ever had with a good selection and amazing cooked breakfast,
We will definitely return and would highly recommend.

We have just spent four nights at The Beaches. We had a great, comfy room with a lovely little balcony. Our dog was made very welcome and our specific food requirements were brilliantly catered for. The owners are really helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our trip so much that we’ve booked to go back in September.

The location is perfect: a 2 minute walk to the stunning Peasholm Park where we could walk the dog. It’s only a 5 minute walk to the beach as well. We could park directly outside or very close by at no charge. There’s a bar/ restaurant just a minute’s walk away as well as a corner shop.

Janice and Malc do everything to ensure you have a great stay. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Many Thanks to Janice and Malc for being so friendly and accommodating on our recent stay at the Beaches. We had a lovely weekend away with our 18 month old and 3 week old daughters. Our room was clean and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay, including free WiFi and Netflix on the T.V. The refreshments tray and fresh milk provided in the room fridge was very much appreciated.
The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and vegetarian options. Perfectly cooked and prepared by Malc and Janice who were attentive and great with my unusually shy toddler.
We hope to stay again soon and would recommend for families who want to stay a short walk to peasholm park, the beach and near to the sealife centre.
