Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On arrival we were greeted by a new man who had just started. Very friendly and explained everything in detail. Room was spacious, although outdated in some parts. Nice sofa bed but unfortunately very dirty once you peeled back the cover on it, crumbs and stains under the sheet. Still m&m's on the floor from previous guests. Only ten mins walk to the beach which is nice. We were directly above the bar where the pool table is and could hear music quite loudly. Google has the pub shut at 11pm so we were hoping that the music we could hear would be quiet by then, sadly this went on untill the early hours which meant we didn't get to sleep till nearly 2am. This was on Friday night. We were meant to stay another night but couldn't deal with another late night due to the loud music so cut our trip short and headed home. My partner lost out on £40 for the night which we are disappointed about but we couldn't face another night with loud music.

Cosy pub with several rooms and a well stocked bar. Tasty sandwiches at very reasonable prices and always a decent pint. Shame about the ignoramus vaping under a sign saying no smoking or vaping. I would suggest that he visits an opticians and acquires some manners at the same time.

Always a must on my cider crawl ! 16 on tap when i visited. Also cask ale and bottled world beers. Lovely staff and gorgeous sunny beer garden with shady areas too. A short walk from town and beach. Pity i live 150 miles away but its always on my inbuilt cider-nav !! Try the Ampleforth cider made locally.

Lovely bar with good selection of beers and ciders, as well as all the usual spirits etc. Prices are moderate and the staff are friendly. There is plenty of room to to sit and admire the unusual composition of the bar. Sandwiches are available from lunchtime at a very reasonable £1.50. It is a shame that they don't make better use of the kitchen and serve proper bar meals.

I can't comment on the hotel or the beer but as a real cider man things have gone downhill since last holiday in Scarb three years ago. Then they had a number of proper apple ciders, now the range is almost entirely abominable 4% so called fruit ciders. Had half (non too cool incidentally) of the only apple cider Thistly Cross (7%) listed on a little blackboard as a "strong cider". Sorry to be pedantic but apples naturally ferment to between 6% and 8% so it's the adulterated fruit ciders that should really be called weak. Come on you can do better than this, even Wetherspoons had both Thistly and Weston's Old Rosie on.

Nice bar, just a few doors up from where we were staying, so ideally placed. Good selection of real ales and I had a couple of pints of good stout. There is plenty of space and the pub has several rooms. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. They do a selection of light bites.

Quirky but pleasant bar underneath. Rooms cleam and tidy. Staff freindly cant fault it. In terms of location its a little out of town but no more than a 10 minute walk. For 5o quid per night you get a kitchen, living room and bedroom all self contained

Good bar with Belgium and Real Ales availble. The Ales were great quality enjoyed in nice clean pub. This pub has moved out of the cellar into a lovely ample roomed pub with great out door area. Would reccomend visiting this pub.
