Room for one person for two or more nights £55 (two nights minimum stay). Single occupancy only. Alma House is a lovely Victorian building that has been carefully restored providing warm and comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in Newbury, Berkshire. The double rooms available to rent are beautifully decorated and each room features free fast fibre WiFi, Smart TV, double pine bed, armchair, pine desk and chair, washbasin and shaver point, hot drink facilities and a fridge. The rooms are upstairs so are not suitable for people with limited mobility. There are three shared toilets, a power shower and separate bathroom with original cast-iron bath. Bathrobes and towels are provided. 5 mins walk to the town centre, 20-mins to Vodafone HQ and 2-mins from Waitrose. M4 is 7 minutes drive away.

I stayed at Alma House for two weeks. I had a wonderful experience. Alma house is conveniently located close to central Newbury, the train and bus station is just a 15 walk. My room was spacious with a small sink, beautiful art work above a Victorian fireplace, tea and coffee and kettle provided, continental breakfast provided. Two bathrooms to chose from just outside my room. The shower was spectacular! Katie and Dermot are kind and friendly hosts. I highly recommended the Alma House. I look forward to visiting again. Thank you for making my trip so memorable!

I really enjoyed my short visit. Alma House has lots of character, nice touches and everything you need. It will be my first choice of accommodation on my return visits to Newbury. Well done to the owners and thank you for making me feel really comfortable and have a pleasant stay.

Our first experience with a shared bath, worked out great, they have2 baths for 3 rooms on the first floor and it was perfect, robes provided, baths very close to rooms. Very conveniently located to restaurants, pubs and great walks. Owners are very personable and helpful. We had a great 4 days, thank you! Nate and Janice

Very friendly, clean, comfortable, walking distance to town. Will definitely stay here again. This is a charming house,with equally charming owners.It feels like staying with friends. The room was lovely, great breakfast, can't think of any negatives.

I have spent a couple of nights here and found it to be relaxed and really comfortable. Alma House is a proper home away from home with spacious rooms and clean bathrooms. Katie and Dermot go out of their ways to make sure all their guests are well cared for and happy - I can not recommend this place highly enough and will definitely book to go back when I'm next in Newbury.

We have recently moved to Newbury and we stayed at Alma House while we were looking for permanent accommodation. The process was quite stressful but the hosts, Katie and Dermot, helped us a lot and cared so much about us that we will always thank them for that. The house is beautifully decorated and has a lovely garden. It is immaculately clean and everything is taken care of to the smallest detail. The rooms have a small fridge which was very useful and there is very goo Wi-Fi connection. The location is great - just 5 minutes walk to the city centre. We will definitely recommend Alma House for our future visitors!

Fabulous place, Dermott and Katie were fabulous hosts with nothing being too much trouble. They were very helpful with places to visit even to offering umbrellas for the rain. Accommodation in a lovely house and spotlessly clean, lovely breakfast. Was worried about shared bathroom but this was no problem with their being two bathrooms on our floor, Katie even provided bathrobes for your modesty. Would not hesitate to recommend Alma House and look forward to our visit in the future to Newbury.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Alma House - the beautiful house is charming and immaculate in every regard and the owners are warm and extremely accommodating. Dermot and Katie have thought of everything - down to the tiniest detail - to make sure that their guests are comfortable. The location is also ideal for trips into town or to simply explore the surrounding areas. Thanks to them, we had an extremely soft landing upon arriving in the UK! Highly recommended!
