The hotel has great potential rooms clean but tired and refurbishment was due to take place ...very picturesque gardens , lovely restaurant area, in conservatory type building ...this was due for major refurb. Any update on when the works will be complete ?? Are they complete ?? Would love to see the results !

Arrived evening 15.7.16 Hotel and grounds run down. Staff doing their best and who cannot be faulted. We found no restaurant open and breakfast was poor. Again the staff were doing their best. Cold tap on shower not working. You may ask why? Closing down on Sunday 17th July for a few months for refurbishment. Wish we had known as...

Very disappointing. Room ok but nothing else warranted the price. Got back at 10:30 on a Saturday night and attempted to have a nightcap but bar was closed and reception not interested or apologetic. Hair drier nearly caught fire and when I went for a replacement was told 'we don't give them out'.

Room had a nice view of the river marred slightly by the hole in the net curtain which covered the French door onto the balcony, which was filthy dirty overgrown with ivy and covered in cobwebs. The bathroom had a faint damp smell with missing tile next to loo and the hot tap on the basin just spun around -...

Stayed for one night for £50 including breakfast and was good value for money. Room was big with a lovely view of the river. Everything was very tired but they are having a refurbishment soon so can't complain really! The place has huge potential to be amazing! The cooked breakfast was good but poor coffee and bread let it down...

It's ok for the price I paid and to sleep,But that's where it stops. Decor old and dirty. Breakfast not nice....go to Toby carvery down the road. Bed too small for two people. Bedding, thin quality duvet, Heating too hot. Grounds nice but over-run and unkept. Lovely fluffy towels, receptionist friendly. Easy to get to Newbury shopping, The Swan pub...

Just had an excellent stay at Newbury Manor. Stayed in Room 12, very spacious with all the facilities you need. Did a lovely walk into Newbury along the canal. The restaurant is currently closed but you can eat in the pub across the road. The hotel is in a great location, the staff are very friendly and it offers very...

We stayed here one night on the way back from Birmingham. It is off a main road but you wouldn't know that once you are at the hotel. It is so quiet and peaceful and overlooks a cute little river/stream (not sure which one it is!) It was a shame that the restaurant was being renovated but it was only...
