Situated in Somerset on the picturesque South West Coast, it’s close to Exmoor National Park and neighbours a mile-long stretch of golden sand. Covering almost 165 acres, the seaside resort is home to our tallest Aerial Adventures and a huge indoor swimming pool, as well as our premium West Lakes Chalets which are set in lush, landscaped gardens beside two lakes. In 2021, we extended Reds, our legendary entertainment venue, to create even more space for those fun-filled evenings.

Where do I begin with my recent visit to Minehead for the Darts championship. Lets start with the good! The Darts was brilliant, really well organised, the staff were like superheroes, and the atmosphere was fab. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, all having a great time. We tried the firehouse grill and had an enjoyable meal, can't comment on the others. The bad? We were so disappointed that most of the facilities were not open, in particular the splash pool. We were told in was in the T&C’s but felt that was a poor show by Butlins. But the worst part was the accommodation, it was quite frankly, awful. I went with low expectations especially as we heard about the flooding the resort experienced in September but quite frankly they should not have allowed paying guests to stay in some of the units. The accommodation we were allocated was a comfort apartment, upon entering the smell hit you, it was soo damp! One of our party has asthma and has been really wheezing, likely to have picked up some respiratory infection as a result. I understand the need to turn a profit, after all Butlins is a business to make money but this was not acceptable. We tried to contact someone whilst on resort but the app live chat wasn't working and no one seemed to know who to speak to. It was such a shame and very much put a ‘dampner’ on what was a great weekend. …

We had the most amazing 4 night stay at butlins minehead, our accommodation, a comfort apartment, was spotless, comfortable and had all that we needed, there is so much to do and a great range of activities for varied age groups, the staff everywhere on site were all so friendly, helpful and polite, the red coats were amazing, they work so hard to deliver the very best in entertainment and offer so much, can't wait to come back again soon 🤞 x

Chalet was disgusting. See photos. Won't be back. We were moved because of flooding and were told we would be given a chalet of same quality booked and paid for. We weren't. We were not given any compensation for being put in a seriously outdated chalet.

Just on the way home from the darts it was such a absolutely fantastic weekend the apartment was spot on the resort was brilliant lots of options to do centre stage on Thursday was amazing Butlin’s 🎯

This place is a dump. Do you employ cleaners apart from in the toilets ?! Cig ends and rubbish everywhere. Bland food served in glorified canteens. Your fish and chips tasted off and had to be thrown away. The pasties were greasy and devoid of filling - real heartburn tackle. Staff kept getting simple drinks orders wrong. Then there is the chalets. Musty damp smelling and unfit for human occupation. The price we paid was the same as a week in Spain we had in October. Please spend your hard earned money elsewhere! Butlins up your game .

Our first visit to Butlins and we wont be returning. We stayed for a week with our son, daughter in law and grandkids, aged 3 & 5. I have to say the kiddies had a brilliant time. Not so much the adults. The shows in Studio 36 were excellent, unfortunately the others elsewhere were mediocre and the pantomime was awful. The Red Coats were great, as were the Life Guards in the pool area, but the majority of the other staff were the most miserable we have ever seen. It was coming to the end of the season when we visited and it showed. Coming back from a visit to the beach we heard an arriving visitor being told that they were 4 mins too early to be let through. So instead of allowing them to wait in line they were told to drive out, turn around and come straight back in, ridiculous' jobs worth' customer service. Neither the main fairground or the Tiny tots fairground was fully staffed so at any one time a few of the rides were closed. On one of the days we visited the pool, the river rapids were closed also due to staff shortages. The soft play area was very small and often overcrowded. We had a Comfort Plus chalet. It was compact but ok size wise except for the ridiculously narrow single beds which were ok for a small child but not big enough for a full grown adult. The carpets and sofas were grubby and the bathroom especially around the shower was really dirty. Adjoining chalets were being dried out due to recent flooding and we could hear the noise of air dehumidifiers going 24/7. …

Room stinks of damp, smell like a wet dog, really unpleasant to be in. Bathroom was not cleaned, found hair in the sinks and stains all over the bath, bathroom floor sticky with god knows what plus peeling paint. Dust on multiple surfaces. Paid an outrageous price to be housed in a room that is frankly disgusting.

Stayed for the Fatboy Slim All Back to Minehead weekender. Think we were upgraded due to the storm damage as our room was much bigger than we expected. Only me and hubby so had loads of space. You could tell our room had been flooded as did smell a bit damp but was fine once we got heating going. Rooms were clean and bed really comfy - same as last year. It was a brilliant base to enjoy our mad, crazy weekend away from the kids haha! We loved every single second and have already booked for next year!!!

Yet another amazing weekend at Minehead.. Fatboy Slims All back to Minehead weekender. Our room did the job, but did need some TLC.... 3 mins to The Deck and to the venues...couldn't have had a better place to stay. Food was top notch again.....rebooked again for next year but Comfort apartment this time. Staff all helpful when needed ....what a fantastic weekend !!
