We made a return visit to Mistal and had another lovely holiday. We enjoyed some lazy days with local walks and some trips out. We enjoyed trips to Piece Hall in Halifax (don’t go on Mondays, most of the shops are closed), Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Chester Zoo. Castle House is great base and Mistal was lovely to come back to after day out. Thank you.

Spent a happy week in this lovely location. Close enough to Huddersfield and Leeds to visit family, but looking out of our cottage window over fields to the sunrise made you feel way out in the country. Lots of places to walk from the doorstep, and reservoirs to stroll around a short drive away. The accommodation is well equipped and nicely decorated. Felt completely safe and confident with the high standards of the cleaning regime allowing us to feel at home. Hope to visit again soon.

Having spotted that the cottage was very near Huddersfield which up is where my husband and I went on our first date 30 years ago I decided to book for a week. The cottage was lovely and exceeded our expectations, a real home from home and very well equipped. The owner Jennie and her parents were so friendly and welcoming. We realised that a week wasn’t long enough to see and do everything in the area so Jennie very kindly let us stay an extra couple of days. There is so much to do in the local area and it is not far from the Dales, York, Leeds and the Peak District and is a great place to come back and relax after a day. There are plenty of local pubs to get a good meal too. The cottage is perfect for a couple or small family.

We stayed here as a family of four, what a beautiful location with characterful buildings tastefully modernised. The kids loved the environment with lots of local walks and local farming activity to watch! There is a great pub which is a lovely walk away through the fields. During this Pandemic have no worries about the cleanliness, the cottages are very clean indeed, a thorough cleaning regime is followed between each stay and a list of all areas cleaned is provided for piece of mind. The cottages have all the amenities you could possibly require. Our extended stay was split between Stable & Mistal which are both lovely family sized accommodation. Mistal Cottage was lovely holiday accommodation. Location was ideal, close to so many lovely places and walks but far enough away to feel peace and quiet. The cottage was exceptionally clean. We especially enjoyed walks across local fields, takeaway meals at start and end of holiday from The Bionic Chef and many reservoir walks. We will definitely return. Many thanks for a great holiday.
