Good beer(Black Sheep), poor service and poor food. Two of us had the mixed Turkish Kebab which consists of pitta bread, salad, grilled peppers&onion, rice topped with spicy chickpeas, various grilled meat and some sauces. The rice and chickpea topping was lovely. The half thin lamb chop was nice. The rest of the meats were bone dry and not very... More

Having camped here in summer we decided to make a second visit as we love the moors for walking and exploring. We began the three day trip with a meal for six on the Sunday night. The food was good and the service was first class. Bev, one of the owners even moved some tables and chairs around so we... More

Chosen primarily for it's location and very pleasantly surprised at the quality of room, bon homie of hosts, food and beer. Excellent & planning a return! We especially liked the Turkish section of the menu and Simon's skilful meat produce, created in-house.

My love of the moors was always there but to wake on a fine morning to look at the view from a high standard well equipped bedroom was a bonus, The breakfast was excellent and all at a very reasonable price.

We came here with our 2 children and was hoping for a three course meal but as the service was so slow we only ended up having 2. The setting is good and there are toys for the children to play with. Our starters came and they were nice but they brought the children's main at the same time. This... More

Excellent accommodation for a very reasonable price Spacious room with high class bathroom Large feta cheese starter but lasagne a little dry but overall great value Strange atmosphere with music coming on intermittently every 5 minute Possibly because of a combination of b& b residents and campers.

I booked and paid for my stay at the Carriage House a couple of days in advance, and reached it after a long walk across the moors. I was given a warm welcome, and shown to a spacious double room with a great bathroom. My window looked out onto the hotel's little campsite, with the moors stretching beyond. I didn't... More

The food here was really nice and well presented . Would definitely visit again. Only slight down side was my son had egg chips and beans for his tea took a further 5 minutes for his tea to come out and had to hold back eating my own meal so he wasn't eating his alone. Overall was clean fairly busy... More
