The Burlington Hotel garners praise for its spacious, clean rooms and blend of modern amenities with classic charm, though some feel the decor is dated. The friendly staff and efficient service are often highlighted, despite occasional organizational hiccups. Guests appreciate the hotel's enviable location near the sea and local attractions, as well as its overall cleanliness. While the hotel's value receives mixed reviews, with some pointing out reasonable pricing and others lamenting overpricing, its proximity to the beach and town remains a strong draw.

Arrived to a very warm welcome from the receptionist. We had a lovely room on the ground floor just up from the reception which was well equipped light and airy. Had a short walk to town along the Leas which was wonderful.
The bar in the basement was really nice we enjoyed some cocktails made by the friendly barman .
We had been advised when we checked in to book breakfast as would be cheaper if booked the night before which we decided to do before we headed out for an evening meal in the town .
Sadly the breakfast experience was not up to the same standards as the rest of the stay We had booked for 9.30 as we walked in a young waitress greeted us before she showed us to our table a young waiter asked if we wanted tea or coffee as he walked past us which I thought that’s a bit strange we are not even sat at a table yet ! When the waitress showed us to our table next to other dinners she said sorry I have to sit you here as you are our last booking. There was nothing wrong with the table so I was a bit confused why she had said that I then looked around and saw every other table hadn’t been cleared from previous dinners . I got up and had to find my way through to the breakfast area walking past the waitresses and said do we just go up she oh yeah. The buffet had run out of sausages and eggs with that the restaurant manager came over and said she would stock it up for us she asked if we would like fried scrambled or poached eggs my husband and me both asked for poached the dinners on the table next to us asked if they could have poached eggs as well . Then another table of dinners behind us said they had already asked for poached eggs and still waiting the manager apologised and asked them who they had asked they said the young waitress again she apologised and said she would get them for them after 5 mins she brought theirs out to them and said ours will be 1 minute so we went and got our breakfast the eggs didn’t come out until I had finished my breakfast.
We mentioned all this to the receptionist who was very apologetic and said we would not be charged for the breakfast and took £25 off our room bill which was very nice and fantastic customer service . He wrote down all the issues including from a hospitality background I was very shocked that the young waitress had a short black skirt on with bare legs ( against health and safety) he said yea that is not uniform standards.
When we checked out another receptionist said he was aware of our complaint and apologised again . We thanked him and said we would definitely return

We stayed in a standard double and while the room was fairly small it was absolutely fine. Everything was clean and the shower was powerful and hot which I always appreciate! The hotel itself is a lovely building and while we didn’t explore much given the times we’re in we noted that there were a couple of bars and one with an outside terrace area where you can have a cocktail. Check in and check out were both quick and easy and we were able to complete most of our check in online beforehand to speed things up. There was sanitiser in reception and in our room as well so we felt perfectly safe.

The hotel is in a good central location, it takes about 5-10 minutes to walk into the town centre and the Leas promenade is on your doorstep.

The only negatives were that we thought it was fairly expensive for Folkestone and for the room type that we had (which was the most basic)...although prices generally are inflated at present given the popularity of U.K. ‘staycations’. I also thought it was a bit tight that breakfast wasn’t included for the price. So all in all perhaps not the best value for money. Also the on-site parking was full by the time we arrived and so we had to pay for a permit to park on the road outside. However there is free parking on a road nearby so that is another option.

I stayed in this hotel for only one night during the business trip to Folkestone. It is situated in a nice and well maintained historic building. The whole area is obviously nice, although very quiet. The late night arrival and a 20 min walk from the train station was not a problem for me, as I was accompanied by a male colleague, although if I were travelling alone next time, I would arrive during a daylight. My room was quite small, but cosy and it had everything I needed, with good lighting for reading in bed and for doing up my hair and makeup the following morning (with a magnifying mirror in the bathroom). The bathroom was new and spotlessly clean, with good quality toiletries supplied and new fluffy towels. There was a bath in my bathroom, although I would’ve preferred a shower. The only problem I experienced was that there was no hot water to take shower in the morning and the water was just off cold, making the shower quite unpleasant. This is the reason why the hotel got 4* from me, otherwise it would’ve been a 5* experience. The reception staff apologised and explained the fault affected the entire hotel and was quickly fixed, however it was already too late for me. The full English breakfast was exceptionally nice and made to order and served to our table. I especially enjoyed their pressed apple juice from the local farm, it was really to die for! The breakfast restaurant was very stylish and with very nice table runners and crockery, we even peeked underneath the dishes to check what make they were, as they were so pretty. I will certainly choose this hotel again if I ever come back to the area, hopefully on a private trip.

Stayed here on Saturday night taking advantage of recent 48 /48 offer ( sadly we could only do one night). Arrived on a wet and windy afternoon and after being allocated a beautiful twin room which was warm and welcoming with everything we needed for our stay we then retired to the bar where we enjoyed sandwiches and drinks. We did not eat in the hotel in the evening but returned to the bar in just before last orders at 9.30pm in time to enjoy a cocktail . All covid safety measures are in place at The Burlington. The hotel is spotlessly clean. What made the stay even more enjoyable was the friendly, welcoming and helpful staff . They are working under difficult conditions in these strange times but remain smiling and professional. Thank you to them all. A word of warning .... be careful if you park in the street, we parked in a residents permit bay by mistake and got a parking fine on Sunday morning

My wife & I have just returned from an "Excellent Valentines weekend break" at the Best Western Burlington Hotel" Check in was a breeze with a huge smile from Maggie the receptionist. We arrived at 12 noon, this was not a problem and we were shown to our spacious and extremely clean room with lots of tea/coffee/hot chocolate, box of chocolates & biscuits. Wi-Fi was strong all over the hotel. After settling in we toddled off into Folkestone town centre for a very yummy lunch. We were on the hotels winter deal with DB&B with chocolates and wine included. On the first night we enjoyed pre dinner drinks in the bar served by the extremely attentive bartenders Alvero & Mattera. We were then led into the spacious restaurant and served by Cedric & Morgane who were delightful. On the second evening we were again spoiled by the lovely Cedric & Morgane our servers. The food on both evenings was delicious with lots of choices for everyone’s taste. A big thank you to Andrew the restaurant manager who could not do enough for us. Finally, a mention to Daniel one of the directors who we met in the bar to say, “Well Done" The Best Western Burlington Hotel is a delight. If you are coming to Folkestone stay here and you won’t be disappointed.

Once again we had a great stay at this very comfortable hotel. We booked the Romance package direct with the hotel and we're not disappointed. The room was spacious and bright. It looked newly decorated. The roses, prosecco and flowers coming with the package were well received. Beautiful long stemmed roses. The bathroom was spotless, only criticism was a missing net curtain which just looked untidy. Three floors up there's little danger of anyone seeing in.
The breakfast, also included in the package was very nicely cooked and grease free. The French lady serving in the restaurant and the young man with a pony tail were both charming.
Reception staff were very pleasant and dealt very diplomatically with an incorrect charge on our bill.
The hotel is in easy reach of the lovely Leas walk that leads to Folkestone Harbour or Sandgate and Hythe depending on which way you walk. The hotel is probably only a 100 metres from the coast but you have to descend a steep zig zag path for a few minutes to get down to sea level and the shingle beaches.

We stayed at the Burlington Hotel to break up our road journey from Scotland to France.
We’ve stayed there before, and the fact that we did so again speaks for itself.
The rooms are comfortable and clean, with quality materials throughout. The location (a few steps from the seafront) is very quiet at night and very good for walking the dog.
The hotel is professionally run with well trained staff.
Be careful when booking if bringing a pet, as only the standard and superior rooms are pet friendly (anything above that is not).
The room service is so handy after a long drive, and the breakfast in the morning is also good.
Parking is limited on the hotel property itself, but a parking permit fir the street can be provided for a nominal fee (£3/day).

Our first time at The Burlington and how lovely to find a quality hotel that accepts dogs. We had two rooms a deluxe double with partial sea view (this hotel is not on the cliff top but set slightly back from the cliff) and a garden view superior twin room. Both were very nice and very clean. It was my mother's birthday and I was very pleased to see the flowers and wine I ordered to greet her were in place in her room on our arrival. The staff were friendly and helpful and a particular thanks to Keaton our server, who had not been there long, but was giving first class attention and help to the guests, nothing was too much trouble for him. Thanks again Keaton for all your assistance and looking after us so well. Things that could have been better in the hotel were the pillows/duvets (pillows were hard and all bedding looked ready for a change over) and also a mini fridge in the rooms is pretty much an essential nowadays for 4 star hotels. Things that were great, were as mentioned, great food (well done chefs), dog friendly hotel, lovely views, lovely staff (keen to help and always remembered to deliver what was requested), decent sized and very clean rooms. We will certainly return. Thank you Burlington.

We had a lovely stay. We arrived to a very friendly welcome. Room was fantastic and absolutely spotless, had everything we needed with a very comfortable bed.
The Friday morning breakfast was excellent with a great variety on the menu and cooked fresh to order. The Saturday morning breakfast not so good. We arrived as before and sat down, there was no menu on the table so we assumed one would be brought. After waiting a while we noticed that people were coming from another room with plates of food. Weekends are obviously a buffet breakfast, would have been nice to have been told! There was a reasonable selection of cooked items, but plates were stone cold. The cooked food was of good quality but by the time we got to our tables it was lukewarm. Such a contrast to the day before.
Very friendly checkout where we mentioned cold breakfast - she was very apologetic and said she would pass it on. We were charged for two newspapers but had only received one but she readily took it off the bill.
We had a lovely stay and despite the cold breakfast we would stay again.

I have asthma and am allergic to fur, feathers, etc. but suffered no ill effects when we stayed at the hotel. Just phone beforehand and ask the hotel to ensure they give you a room that was not recently used by a dog owner. Also ask to ensure that the pillows, etc are not down filled. We found them verry helpful and friendly in accomodating all our needs. If you are not happy when you arrive and have asked the questions previously they will, if they can, do their best.
