Detailed Reviews
This hotel is in an ideal location, the food is sublime and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We stayed here for 2 nights on the staycation deal (thoroughly recommend using this deal on their website) Also would definitely recommend having dinner here, the pizzas are amazing and so is the brownie and cheesecake! We also were kept fully informed about current protocols in terms of room tidying and what was available via room service. The parking is also very useful and cheap (£2 a day and this is all dealt with when you check in)
The only downside, and this is more of a preference, is that the mattress in our room was extremely hard so left to an uncomfortable night sleep on both nights.

It is in the same location as many other and mostly cheaper hotels, but chose to pay more for the comfort. Room 206. Lovely corner see view. Great location.
My husband and I stayed there with our 5year old, who slept on the sofa bed and let me say it wasn’t very comfortable as the middle of it was really hard, so even when I folded the mattress in half it didn’t really get any better. However the mattress we slept on was very comfortable, wish to have checked what made it was so could probably buy one for our selves as it was so much better than our Dormeo.
The room had a small a/c unit as during these tropical days here in Folkestone it was really difficult to survive. I did expect a 4* hotel to have a small fridge but it wasn’t there.
Have not had any food in there but had a drink- bar tender was ok, but reception girls were really helpful and friendly.
Even though there is no reserved parking for hotel guests, you can find a spot along the road and the hotel will issue a parking permit for £2/day.
Overall an enjoyable experience

This hotel is up on the Lee's Cliff directly overlooking the sea. This is an old style hotel that was tastfully refurbished a couple of years ago. Its is stylish and clean with a airy feel. There is a reception room and a comfortable bar with sofas and bay windows. The room we had was an upgrade from the classic double. We had a large room with a sea view from the sofa in our bay window. The bed was very comfortable and roomy. There was an original looking fireplace and the bathroom was roomy with a roll top type bath and large walk in powerful shower. The water was hot and plenty. The only fault was the very large sash window in the bathroom was quite drafty making the bathroom a little cold. The hotel was situated within easy short walking distance to bars and restaurants. Breakfast was freshly cooked and lovely. We would stay again.

Disappointing experience, no air conditioning even though it clearly states air conditioning on the booking and is listed as being one of the main facilities provided in the room. Booking.com we’re unable to get an apology or partial refund just more excuses from staff who were disinterested when I mentioned how hot it was. We were in a top floor room which reached temperatures of 35c. We were provided with a very old and cheap fan which was unable to be much use.
Everyone completely ignored any form of social distancing or logic when it came to Covid and awareness although signs up in all communal areas stating masks must be worn.. staff did not bother to prompt people.
Restaurant was slow, forgot one of our courses and said we would have the whole meal refunded because of the hassle but then when it came to checking out it appeared this had either been forgotten or someone had changed their minds about this decision. Food was not great and all the plates were chipped. Dirty cutlery which had to be sent back on a few occasions.
Got woken up to workman banging outside our door and in the loft space above our room with no prior warning.
Absolute disaster. Lots of guests complaining to reception about air conditioning. Receptionist did not appear bothered or apologetic and told everyone that they are wrong... although it clearly states on booking that air conditioning is standard for all rooms.

Stayed at the View hotel in Folkstone on Saturday evening, what a fantastic hotel. The staff are so welcoming, friendly, professional and fun. The hotel is spotlessly clean and in a great location. From the Reception staff, to the Bar Staff, to the Restaurant staff and of course the chefs and cleaners, they all work so hard. Food in the restaurant that we had for lunch was amazing, plentiful and good value for money, plus beautiful, dry Rose wine. The waiter and then waitress were both attentive and had knowledge of the menu and shared their preferences and ideas. Parking was so convenient as we were lucky to park so close and the hotel arrange the payment which is outstanding value. The rooms are so spacious and everything you need in them, beds so big, hairdryer, safe, beverages, little pack biscuits, water, everything just made is so special. Could not recommend this hotel enough it truly was a great find, recommended to us by friends too. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed at the View Hotel for a couple of nights this week during half-term and only have positive things to say. We booked a Signature Suite (room 108), which was perfect for a family with young children as the separate room with a sofa bed works well and very spacious. It’s also refreshing to stay at a hotel with bathrooms which have both a shower and bath. Being a period building the noise insulation is great and the rooms are quiet despite the hotel being full. Views from the were great and Folkestone as a whole was a welcome escape. The ‘zig zag’ walk to the beach and broadwalk across the sands to the harbour wall and lighthouse were relaxing and very picturesque. Definitely worth visiting the coffee house in the old Folkestone Harbour train station followed by lunch at Rocksalt. For Covid-19, the hotel was extremely well prepared with all staff, rooms and procedures as clear and as safe as possible. A big thank you to everyone at The View.

Right from the start, including the communication around booking with George, the staff have been very helpful and extremely polite. This continued when we arrived with Emma making us feel very welcome, even with the Covid-19 situation which was all done in a common sense way without going over the top. The room was excellent and a good size with 2 chairs placed nicely in the bay window giving us a lovely view over the sea. When we mentioned to Emma about possibly having a small table to ‘add’ to the room, one was found within minutes and taken to the room.
There is very little to say about the food, it was fantastic, we had the special on the Sunday night and ordered from the menu for the rest of our stay, all good. Breakfast was plentiful with Juices, yoghurts, pastries, fruit, cereals, toast & jams and a full cooked with vegetarian option.
Throughout our stay the staff were great, Eve in the mornings, always with a smile and a young girl in the evening always calm and yet totally attentive. In short perfect location, lovely room with a sea view, great food and very family, friendly staff. Great walks and places to visit all very close.

Nice hotel, lovely decor and very clean. Room was large with a side sea view and nice super king bed (we booked a superior double). Room was a bit warm however as the sun shined in, in the morning and the bathroom was particularly warm too... no built in aircon but there was a cooler and fan in the room that helped. Hotel location was great, just across from the promenade and cliff walk to the beach, 15 mins or so to the harbour arm and creative quarter. Then another 5 mins or so to sunny sands beach. Breakfast was good, not a huge selection but you could order a English breakfast cooked to order so that was nice. Didn’t have dinner at the hotel so can’t comment on that. All in all a lovely weekend!

Even before I arrived I knew I was going to enjoy my stay because the emails from the receptionist were so friendly. We arrived early and the receptionist stored our luggage, first impressions were excellent, The View is situated high up on The Leas with the most amazing views of the sea, it has obviously had recent renovations as the decor is beautiful and well designed. We arrived in our room during the afternoon and were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and the most amazing view, tea, coffee, juices, water and biscuits were replenished every day. We had a lovely stand alone bath and walk in shower with good quality toiletries provided .We ate in the restaurant the first night, service was great and the food superb, highly recommended The Cliff restaurant, the beef rib was to die for, we enjoyed the food so much we ate there for Sunday lunch and another evening meal. Breakfast was served each morning by the lovely Louise who really could not do enough for you, extremely professional and friendly, she really is an asset to the hotel. We stayed five nights and can’t wait to return to this treasure of a place.

Decent seaside hotel with great views in a nice location. Hard to fault this hotel apart from a couple of issues. But first the good stuff.
Food- food here is very good with quality produce used. Prices for food are reasonable with big portions which are value for money. The breakfast is especially good. Served in a buffet style with full english available, including black pudding, mushrooms, bacon, sausage, eggs(scrambled or fried), beans & hash browns. Also available was toast, rolls, cereal, fruit, yogurts & crossiants. Everything i ate was very good. Including a very tasty cod & chips.
Service- service here is mostly very good as well. Especially front of house/reception, who went out of their way to make our stay special & were also very helpful if we needed anything extra. Serving & bar staff were also mostly on the ball & helpfull.
(There was one exception to this which i will come to in the negative section).
Room-the room was fab except for one issue(see below in negative section). Otherwise no problems with the room. View was nice(pretty gardens & a partial sea view). Room was also clean & comfortable.
Now we come to a couple of negative points...first up there seemed to be a problem with the room temperture. It was Very hot in both the bathroom & main room. Had to have the window open all the time & the provided fan on all the time. Despite this it was still very hot. Not sure why this was as outside tempurture was between 19& 21 degrees. The other small issue happened whilst we were ordering lunch in the hotel bar area on our first day. This was most likley due to a translation problem with a member of the bar staff whilst trying to communicate our food order. After explaining a few times what we wanted we still ended up with the wrong food. So all in all its a nice place to stay in a great location with easy access to the beach etc. A couple of tips for would be guests... get a parking permit from the hotel reception before you check in(£2 a day)as this will save time & money. Book dinner reservations if you want to eat in the hotel(especially weekends, as it gets busy)

I was in a superior room and it had both a bath (not a full sized one, but decent size) and a shower over the bath.
I seem to remember one in my room!
As the previous answer states you are outside on the public highway in a permit environment. There was a charge of £2 a day, very reasonable, but make sure you do check and sort with reception, traffic wardens are plentiful!
I'm so sorry I have only just read your question. I hope you got an answer. It is quite close to the channel tunnel. I would estimate around a 15 minute drive.
