Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for one night as we were visiting Port Lympne. Parking was a lot easier than expected and we were kindly allowed to check in around 20 minutes early. The room was big, clean with a gorgeous view but in much need of some TLC. There was a very large, obvious mark on the wall, the buttons on the tv remote had almost all worn off, the shower wasn’t very powerful and the temperature was stuck so it was very hot, there was no toilet brush and the hair dryer was a very basic one where the button had to be held down for it to work. The room was also incredibly hot and thankfully opening the windows helped but staying there in the summer without aircon would be awful. All the staff we came across were polite. We ordered room service and it was prompt and priced appropriately. Overall we had a good stay but we booked a signature room for the added bit of luxury and felt let down. Even with a discount from booking.com it was still very expensive for what we got.

We have stayed for two nights as a family of four while travelling from Glasgow by car. During our two week travel, we stayed in 11 different hotels so plenty of experience. The View Hotel Folkestone has excellent location and absolutely amazing staff!!! Worth to say that the restaurant experience was one of the best during our whole travel. Quick and good service, fantastic food with very decent portion size, and the staff beyond all expectations. We have noticed that the rooms are kept very clean as well as the rest of the area - a lot of effort for this type of building. The rooms differ with some being renovated and some being smaller and older, but clearly management makes all the steps for the whole area to look cosy, clean and comfortable. Special credit to Ben who was extremely helpful for sorting out our problem! Thank you, Ben!!! We had lovely two days with a lot of positive memories - thank you to all the staff working so hard.

A short break with family & friends, this hotel catered for all ages perfectly and a really swift check in/out. The food was delicious (especially Sunday lunch) and the cocktails are first class. With really happy and friendly staff working at such a hard rate (this place is very popular/busy) I would firmly recommend a stay and if you're local, check out their happy hour cocktail deals!!

This well decorated ,original end terrace sea view hotel was comfortable enough dispite a major storm blowing. Our front first floor room was large but with the front and side hotel doors below perhaps the second floor (there is a lift) would have been better. Our two armchairs looked great but were firm. No "rain shower"head and the single spray arm was badly fitted. Decent bath, hot towel rack and some underfloor heating and even an anti mist mirror! Reception staff not quite on the ball, when I reported water pressure problems they should have told the truth, repairs ongoing. Guests were not informed next morning when the water was turned off! The breakfast was DULL, but the evening Bar and food service excellent.

Excellent hotel situated on the cliffs above the beach and sea. The food was really good with plenty of choice on the continental breakfast. Also good cooked breakfast cooked to order during the week and buffet at the weekends. Vegetarian options also available. Room was large, clean and very comfortable. Most of the rooms have an ocean view, ours overlooked the garden and had a clear view of the sea. Friendly helpful staff in all departments. The only slight negative is that they don’t have a car park but we always managed to get parked in the permit bays outside the hotel. All in all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back

The staff were friendly and the location was lovely but we were disappointed because Unfortunately the TV did not work, was told this would be fixed the next day but it was not fixed for the entirety of our stay, then in the night we noticed that it was turned on but just a blank screen so the brightness was on all night and we couldn’t turn it off like an unwanted nightlight, the shower handle was a odd shape so it could not be clipped into the overhead bit on the pole so you have to hold it the whole time or have it spraying direct in your face. There was also no anti slip protection or a mat of any kind which was dangerous. The pillows were very lumpy and the dressing table chair was filthy with stains and when you sat on it the mirror was put up so high that you can’t see yourself in it so the dressing table was completely useless. very hot rooms and the windows do not stay open, curtain rods and various other bits broken in the room.

We ( 11 ladies ) have just spent two nights in this lovely hotel. Would defiantly be returning, all rooms were lovely and clean, staff very attentive. We were very impressed with the choice at breakfast. We ate in the restaurant on one evening, food was fab.

Accommodation lovely. Customer service poor. Given the amount paid for the visit, very disappointed in the couldn't be bothered attitude of the staff. They were quite unhelpful, particularly in the bar and food area.
