This hotel is a very short drive to the Channel Tunnel terminal and ideal for a stay before travelling, in either direction.
It’s clean, with a comfortable bed and good shower. It was also great value.

We had excellent service in the restaurant and the food is pretty good.

Stayed in July 2021, standard Premier Inn purpose built hotel so all the facilities you would expect of a Premier Inn. Only reservation was the lack of a/c in the hotel.

It was 20 degrees outside and the rooms were warm. The window opens by around 5cm no no outside air can get in to the room and they supply a fan. You would struggle to sleep if it was any hotter so if a good nights sleep is important to you avoid this hotel in the summer.

Impossible to understand why they did not install a/c when they built the hotel, the staff on duty are hearing the same complaint from the customers on a hourly basis and agree with it.

We came for Halloween weekend. We had a lovely time.
We had to move rooms as first room spare bed had a big hole and badly sloped.
We was placed in the old side, ground floor first room to the left next to reception. Lovely out look to the pretty lit up pub. However, be aware the door to the stairs and reception did not stop opening and closing all night, which did became noisy any annoying. We ended up closing the dividing door in the hall to try to take some noise away.
Our second room was still pub facing, a few doors down from original room. Still can hear reception door, but no where near as bad.
We were in a family room, as 2 adults and 2 children. We ended up rearranging the beds as they laid them all out side by side. No one could get in or our of bed. So we dragged the bed under the window down and spun the second single round, allowing much better floor space.
We have also stayed in premier inn littlehampton, and this one in Folkestone was smaller. However, once beds rearranged, it was ok for a couple of nights.
The bathroom was clean, however the fan was very noisy in both rooms, so couldn’t use the light at night. So take a torch for night use.

The room, you get one pillow each, but they were very helpful and more than accommodating at retrieving more pillows on request. As also tea and coffee bits. The reason for one pillow each is because of covid, and not everyone likes 2 pillows so they provide one set to start. So do ask if you want more, they are very helpful.

Site has plenty of parking free of charge, and we went in a busy time.

We ate in the pub opposite, lovely food, albeit a tad pricey. Although it had a deal for week days, 2 meals for £8.99 from a set menu, weekends prices full and no deals.

Overall, we will travel again, although I would ask to stay in the new side.

We have stayed at this hotel on many occasions as we live in France and its location is very good for Euro-tunnel and P&O Ferries. Since it was extended and refurbished last year it has gone down hill so much we now have to look elsewhere for our overnight stays. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Premier Inn made what could have been a stressful situation much better!

We had a Eurotunnel crossing booked for the morning and, as the weather was dreadful (and driving conditions demanded taking extra care) decided the night before that we’d be better to drive some of the way (and avoid the rush hour traffic too). We jumped in the car and tried to call a number of hotels en route.

At night, many hotel chains go through to call centres (eg Holiday Inn in America). We wanted to know if places had availability if we just turned up and could we even book if we were arriving after midnight as the date of arrival would be different. Most places were very unhelpful. Not Premier Inn. Thankfully, lines go through directly to the hotels and a different Premier Inn was able to advise us that there were roadworks causing bad delays in the morning, so we’d be better off carrying on further. Premier Inn Folkestone were happy confirm a room and take a name in case we were able to get that far. We arrived in the early hours of the morning (!) to a cheerful welcome and a very comfortable room. It was much smarter than I’d remembered Premier rooms looking in the past, and very much felt value for money, so I would be happy to return. I also had the impression they might have given us a room at the end of a corridor so that we wouldn’t disturb other guests when we arrived.

Very grateful for their help late at night, the fact they were accessible on the phone, and had local knowledge which helped us make our crossing in time, along with a comfy room.

Stayed in this hotel in a family room on the first floor with 2 adults and 2 children on Monday 3rd August. The room temperature went up from 27.5 degrees to 29.5 degrees. Totally insufferable, didn’t get a wink of sleep. Hotel eventually gave us 4 fans, which of course don’t cool the room, just move the air around. Manager wasn’t bothered about our concerns at all in the morning. Receptionist informed us that it states on the website that the hotel doesn’t have air conditioning, so there’s nothing they can do. I would dread to think if someone stayed there who had breathing difficulties or any other underlying health conditions, one could easily have passed out in the heat with 4 in the room. Other guests were also complaining.
Don’t be fooled by the “good night guarantee” - it doesn’t cover a lack of sleep due to heat in your room!... new terms and conditions so you can’t get your refund.
Will never stay here again, and being premier inn fans for so long, we are so disappointed.

The rooms have been refurbished and new bathrooms installed, was great for an overnight stay before Eurotunnel early the following morning. Great welcome from the staff and all was Covid compliant. Very short drive to Eurotunnel and easy to find just off the motorway. Will return.

Booked a room for the Open Golf at Royal St George. Reception staff were excellent and very helpful booking our meals in the adjoining pub. Room was very clean and tidy however very warm as outside temperatures were in the high 20’s early 30 degrees. A stand fan had been put in the room already and the window out with the curtains shut. Nice little touch but very warm still.
Great nights sleep very quiet hotel with blackout curtains, pillows a lit soft for me but overall good nights sleep
Meals in the pub were good value and what you would expect good choice of drinks on offer with friendly and helpful staff.
Overall excellent stay and would return if in the area.
Thanks Premier Inn

Arrived to find incredibly friendly and helpful reception staff who made check in effortless and easy, having pre booked probably helped however the two young gentlemen went out of their way to be welcoming and resolved the few requests we had quickly and efficiently. The bedrooms were spotless, of an excellent size with coffee and tea making facilities, spotless bedding and a very comfortable bed. Evening meal and breakfast fast facilities were located directly opposite the main hotel and offered a very wide and well priced menu. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful . The restaurant was clean and the waiting time excellent. All in all, we would have absolutely no hesitation to use this hotel again, given it’s very close proximity to The Channel Tunnel. An enjoyable experience at a very affordable price.

Let's start in reverse order about the Pub, its Staff and the Breakfast. This was amazing and I'm not being OTT. The staff were professional, really cheerful, helpful and outgoing to please you. The show you round at breakfast the processes and the food was quick and quality was absolutely great! I made a point when I left to congratulate the senior staff because these are difficult times and the work going on at some places is often overlooked. It's a shame I can't say the day for the Hotel.

It's old. It's worn out and and desperately needs improvement. Our room was on the first floor, there isn't a lift, so wasn't a bug drama but with all our baggage was a bit unexpected not to have one.

We arrived at 10:40pm and we had paid in advance for breakfast and standard double room.

When we arrived we were LUCKY to be able to park. There was only 1 space and we JUST about managed to park in it because the way others had parked, overlapping there space. I'm not sure what we would of done if we couldn't park. Parking is free so am assuming it gets abused by others for other places perhaps.

The reception is manned but theres an automated option, but TBH after a long drive you really aren't upto faffing about and just want your room. The staff were happy to check us in (it didn't seem clear at the auto checkin about reserving breakfasts or parking) but it did seem as if they really didn't want to be there.

The entrance to the rooms is out away from the reception, much to my surprise so had to walk out and around to the other side of the building. No drama but I wouldn't of been happy if I had just walked past it with all my luggage again.

The room was just about big enough. It wasn't small, I've had much smaller but it really did need some repairs. It clearly had been abused over the years and had some shoddy repairs to the bathroom door and floor.

Bed was absolutely shot. Seriously. It had a 8inch mattress that collapsed to 2 inches when you sat on it, the only saving grace was the mattress topper and duvet.

We did sleep well, due to exhaustion

I've read other reviews about hot rooms. I can understand this as there isn't air con but let's be fair here, it's England. If you have come from overseas after 2 weeks and have been used to air-conditioning then you will automatically feel warm as you aren't used to not having it. Wheb we stayed the day was 23 degrees and expected a warm night but it wasn't too bad at all, window open no problem.

Other hotels such as travellodge do offer fans but had no need tbh.

Conclusion.

Would I stay again? No, especially at the price.

I would definitely go to to the Brickfield Cookhouse pub though!
