Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

not the best atmosphere very little interaction and all the floors and stairs creaked so much it was hard to move about quietly, it felt cold but was clean and tidy, it was a pleasant enough stay although i am not sure we would stay here again, also a little out the way but a nice enough walk to town

Friendly and welcome from Adrian who told us we had the best room in the hotel (26). Amazing room. Massive, tastefully decorated, comfy bed, spotless, and a jacuzzi in the bath. Breakfast was fantastic and the service perfect. I recommend this place without hesitation.

This is NOT a 3 rated Hotel!! It’s very dated, lacks quality understanding and character. Price, Heating, Food, Cleaning and Decorations is not high on this hotel list. Photos attached showing the condition of the room I stayed in which was uncomfortable, noisy and cold! The yogurt was given to me this morning 23.01.2024.

Just a lovely wee hotel! The receptionist was really helpful and welcoming. The breakfast and dinner was fab! We will definitely stay again. Thank you for having us for 3 nights 😊 Our room (5) was massive and the bed was comfy. A fab visit despite the typical Dunoon December weather!

We arrived early and received a very warm welcome. Our room was ready too. We chose the suite which was very spacious. The room was comfortable and warm. Breakfast was nice and plenty of it too. Loved the 11.00am check out time. The hotel was only a few minutes drive of the main town. All staff were very friendly.

In the very cosy twin I shared with friend we had some issues. The rubber plug did not fit the plug hole. Therefore the water was gone before a wash completed. Unable to turn the hot tap off plus the top cover missing. Opened the large casement window in bedroom, great, except very low if children in room. On closing the top of window caught the curtain valance and brought it down.one reading light not working The bathroom needs refurbishing, tiles & sealer not good. Staff Unable to supply a rubber bath mat. Receptionist/ bar person didn’t understand what I needed. It was an over the bath shower and I was frightened of slipping standing in the bath. That person off hand with friend as she requested a drink at the bar as he had both jobs to do at same time therefore understaffed. Cleanliness good and breakfast plus location.

The location was amazing. Our twin room had a lovely sea view. Beds, pillows, etc very comfortable. Large Smart TV on wall. Shower had good pressure and temperature was great and easy to control. Breakfast and dinner were excellent with plenty choice and great service. Outside seating area with lovely hanging baskets and water bowl for dogs. Staff were very welcoming and customer service was excellent.

Staff lovely and food good but room really let it down. Booked a twin, was given room No.1 which should only be a single room. Very cramped and one bed pushed hard against the wall. Nothing like the photos on Trip Advisor or Booking.com. Very dated and dirty, wallpaper peeling off wall and previous guest’s false lashes left on the radiator! Radiator was filthy so who knows how long they’d been there. Only 1 double socket in the room so if you want to boil the kettle whilst charging your phone, you need to unplug the TV. Not a big issue but when coupled with the other things it was really disappointing. Spoiled what was supposed to be a nice little night away for my mum & I.
