When we were nearly at the hotel I rang them and they gave clear instructions on how to find them in the one-way system. The hotel is beautifully clean and well-cared for, the rooms (we stayed in two different ones, one one the halfway point of our journey out to Skye, and the other on our return journey) are really... Beautifully located, this traditional hotel sits in a terrace of similar properties overlooking the sea with great views down to Great Cumbrae and Bute. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and our landlady Sandra couldn't have been more helpful, with local recommendations (even put the heating on for us so we could dry our kit out after a days riding in... Still house hunting we had driven up through Ayrshire, Bute and stayed in Dunoon as we had four properties to view. It is a wee bit difficult to find so,,,, Once you come of the ferry turn left, drive past the passenger ferry and then round a sharp right bend, slow down and look for a tiny road on the... More

Breakfast, as usual, was excellent....right down to the blood sausage and beans, plus ample toast and perfectly cooked eggs. It's home to annual returning customers and is very near (walking distance) to both the ferry pier and town. Owners are gracious, knowledgeable, and helpful, always. It was truly lovely to visit again and to not only enjoy the waterside view... More

Booked in for two nights to a sea view room. Was met by Sandra who explained the hotel procedures and some local places if interest. My room was on the top floor and what a view over the Clyde looking up to Aran. The room was clean and had everything one would need. I would stay there again when next... More
