Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

All round Standards here raised considerably over past two years.Rooms superbly comfortable and very well appointed. Genuinely dog friendly. Service Staff extremely caring. Menu has changed in recent months - reduced choice but still comprehensive and very well prepared. Very ordinary wine at £35 bottle (cheapest available) causes a 4 star rather than 5 star review.

Booked in here for dinner with friends who live locally, we arrived earlier thinking we could get a drink or two before dinner, not the case, basically made to take our table, simply didn’t seem to be anywhere to sit for just drinks in any of the areas, certainly the staff didn’t want us to anyway We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal, can’t knock the food or the service in that regard, just seems a shame a lovely looking pub like this has nowhere to enjoy a drink on a Saturday night, can imagine in summer there is plenty room as a lot of outside areas

This hotel was without a doubt one of the best hotels I have stayed in ! When we arrived, we were greeted by a warm welcome and as it was a special occasion we were given a complimentary upgrade !! The room was absolutely stunning ! Bed was very comfy with lots of pillows if needed ! Great toiletries provided ! We dined at night and the food was fantastic. Great choice of vegan foods for myself and lots of other choices for my husband. Again in the morning, the staff were very friendly and prompt. The breakfast was delicious and lots of choice to have with cereal such as dried banana and coconut. The breakfast was great (again well adapted for vegans) and I could not fault it at all. Overall I would 100% recommend staying here and I will most definitely be back !!

Had a lovely roast dinner today at the atholl arms, portions were generous with equally good service. Also noticed how dog friendly it was so will definitely come back with the dog! The whole hotel has a lovely vibe and has live music on weekends

Visited during a stay in Dunkeld. Decided to have tea here due to the good reviews. So glad we chose the Atholl arms as it really didn’t disappoint. The service was great and the food was excellent. Plenty to choose from on the menu, and equally a great kids menu. Will certainly return again in the future!.

Visited for 3 nights on a dinner room & breakfast package. Friendly warm welcome from the luvly Aniko at reception and shown to our room their junior suite (suite 5) with king-size bed. bathtub in room, shower, two large windows a bright and spacious suite, tea / coffee machine, dressing gowns, and slippers. Comfy bed, large tv screen. Toiletries in shower and at sinks. Plenty storage space, i.e., wardrobe and drawers, cleaned daily to a very high standard. We njoyed breakfasts in their Riverview Restaurant, bright and spacious with views over the bridge and their terrace. The usual juice, yoghurts, fruit and cereals, coffee machine, so all tastes catered for. Full breakfasts, omelettes, eggs benedict, avocado on sour bread ( i had it with poached egg and bacon) all our food was locally produced, and delicious, a luvly relaxed atmosphere to njoy your breakfast in, served by the luvly young waiter every morning. Due to the weather when we arrived, the area outside was suffering from flooding, Sadly we were unable to use their Terrace, (luckily no damage done to the area) but we did later manage a luvly walk by the River Tay, a walk to Birnam, and a visit to Pitlochry by bus. We dined in their Bistro (you have the option to dine in the restaurant) in the evenings, we njoyed, North Sea Haddock, and fries. Buttermilk fried chicken, Aberdeen Angus Steak burger, Perthshire Steak Pie, Handmade burger, & venison sausage and black pudding mash, all our food was delicious, well presented and plenty of it, I didnt manage Scottish cheese and biscuits afterwards. Served by the luvly Adam always cheery and chatty. We njoyed finishing our drinks in the lounge area, comfy sofas and seats, large fire, tastefully decorated by the very talented Edit (owners wife), and meeting some of the doggy visitors. We again had a wonderful break. Thanks to Zsolt (owner) and all his team, everyone contributed to our stay. See you all again next year :) :)

We were last here in 2021, so it was great to see all the upgrades to the hotel. We normally stay in room 16 ( Master Suite) but decided to try room 5 ( Junior Suite). This room had been upgraded, and it was lovely. As usual, the changes just set off the room. Even though it is on the main road, once you pull the curtains at night, there is very little road noise. We ate in the hotel each night and we can highly recommend the food. I loved the Cullen Skink soup, and the evening specials were fantastic. It was a shame that the terrace was only open at the weekends during the autumn/winter period, but Z's has a great atmosphere at night. The staff, as usual, were 1st rate. So friendly and attentive. The hotel is also dog friendly, so a bonus for dog owners. We will definitely be back again.
