Lovely weekend stay at Stoulgrove House. Sue and Richard couldn’t have been more fabulous hosts. They are so welcoming and really make your stay absolutely perfect. The mornings breakfasts are really something special, you are in for a real treat every morning. The property is spectacular and the bedrooms very nicely decorated. You will never want to leave! Thank you for a great weekend and for helping with some sore heads this morning! J and O x

We’ve had the good fortune of staying in many B&Bs throughout the world and can honestly say this is the highest tier. The home and gardens are worthy of Architectural Digest or a movie set. Sue and Richard obviously take great pride in their property and do all of the work themselves (gardening, cooking, cleaning, hosting….). We took both bedrooms on the second floor and while the gorgeous bathroom is a few steps down the hall it was never a problem. Sue is the consummate hostess and Richard is a congenital host. She went out of her way to arrange for us to attend a rehearsal of a Men’s Choir in town, made dinner reservations, drove us into town for the rehearsal and stayed with us. She also cooked dinner for us on 2 nights which were excellent. Richard drove us quite a distance so we could walk down to Tintern Abbey. How could you ask for better hosts? Also note that while it is quite a walk into town there is a beautiful trail and we didn’t have any problem using it to explore Chepstow town and castle.

This is a fantastic luxury bed and breakfast property. The rooms are exquisite and the house beautiful. Gardens are superb. Nothing too much trouble for Sue who is the perfect hostess. Location ideally placed to explore the Forest of Dean and all it has to offer.

This bed and breakfast gives the feel of a fabulous boutique hotel!! Sue & Richard are super hosts and have thought of absolutely everything. We were treated to coffee and mince pies on arrival. Our two rooms were just lovely and the bathroom was gorgeous. We spent an hour in the games room with a glass of bubbly before we went out for dinner which was fun. The breakfast was delicious - fresh fruit, Welsh yoghurt, any combination of a cooked English with toast and croissants. Sue had decorated the house for Christmas and it was picture perfect. We loved it and can’t wait to return. Thankyou for an outstanding nights stay!

We stayed two nights after it was recommended by a relative and it didn't disappoint. The house is one of the best I have stayed in the UK. However, it's the little things that make the memories so special-and Sue and Richard couldn't have been better hosts. They make you feel as if you have know them for years and nothing is too much trouble. A fabulous experience -thank you it was greatly appreciated.

Thank you Sue and Richard for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable! We booked 3 nights here on the recommendation of previous reviews and can say that they all lived up to the expectation. We booked the Monnow Suite and loved it. The attention to detail of the building as well as the fixtures and fittings made it such a lovely place to spend some time and relax before and after our excursions into the forest. The breakfast was exactly as expected, high quality with a wide selection and very filling! We really couldn't have asked for anything more from our stay! Thank you again.

Back to Stoulgrove for the 4th time last weekend. Sue & Richard as welcoming and helpful as always. We had great meals out in Chepstow on Friday and Saturday night. Our bedroom was super clean ,smart + very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast just awesome! £125 not cheap for a b & b but, believe me, this one is something special & is a real bargain. We are already saving up for the next trip!
