In a secluded valley, invisible to the outside world, lies Hidden Valley Yurts and Lake House at Lower Glyn Farm in South Wales. Our glamping site contains 5 Mongolian yurts (3 for 7 people and 2 for 5 people) stretched along the top of a beautiful, south-facing meadow alongside a stream and The Lake House is our new all year round accommodation now available to book in 2018. Within easy reach of Monmouth, Tintern, Raglan, Usk, Chepstow and other notable spots along the picturesque Wye Valley in South Wales, Hidden Valley Yurts and Lake House is a well-located base for taking in the kind of sites that made the likes of Wordsworth and Turner produce masterpieces. A designated area of outstanding natural beauty, this corner of Wales has definitely been blessed by Mother Nature. But once ensconced in this beauteous valley, tucked away from the outside world at our unique site, it’s hard to tear yourself away.

We came as an extended family group of 14, spreading in age from 70 to 2 for a very special birthday, We were not disappointed, the owner mike was pleasant and couldn’t be more helpful, he made you feel at ease, nothing was to much trouble and was happy to chat. The yurts were amazing!!! Warm and comfortable.. the fire warms up the yurt quickly and everyone slept well! The kitchens were incredibly well stocked with everything you could need.. plates, pots and pans, a dishwasher and even a bread maker! Tilly the dog/vacuum was instantly loved by everyone and is such a character, the chickens were a lovely Addis even if they didn’t lay for us! You can Potter off into the hills for hours or splash away in the stream.. a wonderful place that I would definitely go back to!

We love having family groups come and stay with us, as they really make the most and get the most from a whole site booking. Personally many thanks for the kind words I want everyone to enjoy their stay and if I can be of any help, it is a pleasure to do so. We have tried to provide everything that anyone could reasonably need/require to make their stay as easy and as pleasurable as possible . We look forward to meeting you again in 2024.

Spent 3 nights at The Lakehouse for my Wifes birthday 19th - 22nd October 2023. The accomodation is excellent and has everything you need and the Host explained everything clearly. Location is fantastic surrounded by woodland and nature. As an added bonus we had daily visits from a family of otters who enjoyed pkaying in the lake.

I am so jealous as in the 3 years the otter has been visiting us (in February and October/November) I have yet to see it. Not only have you seen her but it sounds like she brought her kits with her (do you call baby otters kittens, Will have to check). It never stops to thrill me to hear that our guests have had a fantastic stay in the Lake House or Yurts. We really hope to see you all again in 2024. Have a merry Christmas and happy new year. Kindest regards Mike

Difficult to articulate a visceral experience. What i would say is if you are curious, in any way at all, do it… book immediately and go as soon as possible, it may just change your life. Followed on FB for a couple of years after a friend had gone and it’s the kind of thing that appeals to my curious and mischievous nature. Treated to it by my caring and very attentive loving partner who knows just how to manage my outdoor fantastical needs (I live on a town but pine endlessly for the great outdoors and wilderness). Firstly, and for absolute transparency, i battled with reviewing at all, (1) because i loved it so much people may see me wax lyrical and think i am somehow on the payroll or otherwise sycophantic, and (2) because it is now my secret and i want to keep it all to myself. So, nuts and bolts. Wonderful secluded site… play in the steam, sit on the decking and take in the stars, use the pizza oven… use the covered outdoor kitchen and just soak up the wonderful Welsh air… top up on positive energy and relax… Glamp in luxury with a private bathroom (with bath a think relaxing bubble bath). Love the quirky nature (get taken to the yurts in style in a 4x4 buggy) and enjoy the yurts, all lovely and comfortable. Warmed with a log burner and soft furnishings… and a real bed (my back appreciated not doing camping on a thin mat this year). Lots of space and comfort. Do stoop to enter the doorway. It takes a while to get used to those low yurt doors. Alternatively take a hard hat! You will forget, but this in itself became a hysteric and endless source of amusement for my partner. But my head has now recovered, and she now has a lifelong anecdote for dinner parties. Not sure I want to tell you anymore, without penning a Bryson-esque semi-biographical novella. You WILL love it, i promise you (no money back guarantee, sorry). The site, USP, location and people are just lovely… See you there…

Hi MercilessMing123 A massive apology for the delayed response to your review, but packing away a glamping site for the winter, running a farm and taking a long awaited holiday (other than a 3 day weekend) in 15 years does sort of distract from the other day to day tasks. All I can really respond to your review is WOW, WOW, WOW. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us so much. It really does make the hard work worthwhile when we get such a positive response. We really hope to see you again in 2024. kindest regards Mike

Location really is remote and directions provided by Mike, the owner, are spot on. We stayed in the Lake House and the two nights felt much longer. It is peaceful, and a really good place to unwind. Great for couples, but just as good for families with children who would have plenty of places to explore and play. Our kids would have loved it. The accommodation is very comfortable with every conceivable modern convenience, plus a log burner for atmospheric evenings. To give you a better idea of just how good the place is the only thing ‘missing’ was a pair of kitchen scissors, a complete non issue. We felt it was worth every penny and we would definitely return.

Hi Rays616. We are so pleased you were able to enjoy your stay in our Lake House and were able to relax. A stay in the Lake House has been described as a concentrated pill of relaxation. We try to make sure our guests have everything they need when they are here. Apologies about the kitchen scissors but we stopped providing them as they kept getting taken home, even the cheap ones. Many thanks for the wonderful condition the Lake House was left in after your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. kindest regards Mike

We stayed in a yurt with our 7 year old and had a fabulous time. The yurts are luxurious and comfortable, with large private outside area, and the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Right in the middle of nature. We foraged for wood for our log burner every day but still had the option of cooking in our own double oven and doing the dishes in a dishwasher! Our welcome was great and we all enjoyed the trip in the 4 wheel drive down to our yurt. We would definitely come back.

A last minute booking proved to be a fantastic little find and a great weekend spent as a family. Facilities are second to none, the kitchen area had everything you could need, the private bathroom was modern and clean. The yurt itself was massive and ample space for us as a family of four. The kids (3&5) loved the swings in the woods, playing in the river and generally having the run of a well kept site. Mike the owner was a star, the lifts he gave us in his off road buggy were a so fun and a real novelty which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. We even got to see the beautiful baby calves being fed their milk which was a very nice touch. Visited Abergavenny which was approx 20 mins away by car and recommend Raglan Farm Park if visiting with children and venturing around the area. Would 100% recommend and will return ourselves!

Me, my husband and 2 small children aged 5+2 stayed in the Lake House. Whilst you cannot park directly at the lake house this is no issue as access to the car park is less than 2 minutes walk and our wonderful host Mike picked us up from the car park and to the lake house offloading our luggage and did the same for going home. Mike was extremely welcoming and friendly. There was so much to explore and do within the land to keep our children entertained as well as it being such a peaceful place for us all to be able to relax and wind down. In addition to this within 5-10 minutes drive there are many places to explore and visit for entertainment whether you're with children or without. The lake house itself was perfect with everything you could need to feel more at home when away, the two bedrooms provided plenty of space as well as comfort. The lake house itself is completely private which includes the lovely decking and garden area where me and my husband spent every evening enjoying the view. Personally, as a parent I find it hard work going on holiday with small children but here it felt easy! None of us felt ready to leave after 5 nights here and there was still so much more left to explore when we left, we absolutely plan to return next year 😀.

Another year another stay at the lake house. Myself and my two boys stayed here for the second year running and it didnt disappoint! even the weather behaved itself mostly! So quiet and peaceful, with plenty of days out for children aged 8 and 10.We all love it here , mike is a great host and always makes us welcome.Asked if we would be back next year and without hesitation both boys said yes!! Hired a hot tub this year and will do so again this year, safe to say it got plenty of use! So mike we will see you in a years time! apparently the boys want to try the yurts out.
