You can't help but admire the stunninh countryside as you wind your way down into the valley. As we arrived, we were promptly greeted by Mike who gave us, and our luggage, a ride down to the Lake House. The Lake House is serene. Set in private and beautiful surroundings, you can hear nothing but the trickle of a stream and the wildlife. The interior is gorgeous and cosy. After our stay, we felt rejuviated and relaxed, just what we needed after this crazy year! We are definitely returning. Mike is very friendly and the atmosphere of the entire place is of peace. I've been glamping as well and that is 100% an amazing experience. This place is somewhere where we will return again and again. Tilly the dog is also a star. She came on a lovely walk with us around the valley. Thank you guys for a wonderful stay!…
Perfect little country retreat in a beautiful location. Modern, spotless accommodation with great views over a private lake. Made even more special by a unique 4 legged tour guide Tilly (the dog) who took us on some brilliant local walks. Highly recommend to anyone seeking a relaxing break in top quality accommodation.
A visit to the Lake House in the Wye Valley is to escape the bustle of everyday life. With 80 acres of woodland and meadows to explore, there’s a walk for every ability. If you’re lucky Tilly, the owner’s dog, will accompany you with a wagging tail and a smile on her face. The house is beautifully decorated, cosy and quiet. The view to to the lake is an added plus, with terraced decks to sit on and enjoy the scene. The night sky overhead benefits from a lack of light pollution and the brook babbles in the distance. We had a warming welcome from Mike, the owner, who encouraged us to scrump his apples, which we enjoyed very much. And we took advantage of the fresh herbs on offer by our gate. All in all an excellent place to stay.
Had 3 nights here in late September. Loved the peace and tranquility of the site in a narrow valley with no houses or other civilisation in sight. There’s 4G internet signal if you really try but forget about that and relax! The yurts are huge and really comfortable. The log burner makes them toasty but it was cold getting up in the mornings after the fire had died down. It was 4 degrees outside though so hardly surprising. The kitchen areas had everything you needed and a nice deck to eat on and enjoy the sunshine. The friendly robin joined us for breakfast each day asking for crumbs to eat. Bathrooms were good with plentiful hot water. A bit of a pain having to share but no big deal. The site is in a lovely bit of countryside with amazing views from the top of the hills and lots of forest to explore. Would I go back again? I think I would as there’s lots more to do in the area and the yurts were great. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone. You could easily get a family of 4 in a yurt and children would love the whole experience.…
