In a secluded valley, invisible to the outside world, lies Hidden Valley Yurts and Lake House at Lower Glyn Farm in South Wales. Our glamping site contains 5 Mongolian yurts (3 for 7 people and 2 for 5 people) stretched along the top of a beautiful, south-facing meadow alongside a stream and The Lake House is our new all year round accommodation now available to book in 2018. Within easy reach of Monmouth, Tintern, Raglan, Usk, Chepstow and other notable spots along the picturesque Wye Valley in South Wales, Hidden Valley Yurts and Lake House is a well-located base for taking in the kind of sites that made the likes of Wordsworth and Turner produce masterpieces. A designated area of outstanding natural beauty, this corner of Wales has definitely been blessed by Mother Nature. But once ensconced in this beauteous valley, tucked away from the outside world at our unique site, it’s hard to tear yourself away.

You can't help but admire the stunninh countryside as you wind your way down into the valley. As we arrived, we were promptly greeted by Mike who gave us, and our luggage, a ride down to the Lake House. The Lake House is serene. Set in private and beautiful surroundings, you can hear nothing but the trickle of a stream and the wildlife. The interior is gorgeous and cosy. After our stay, we felt rejuviated and relaxed, just what we needed after this crazy year! We are definitely returning. Mike is very friendly and the atmosphere of the entire place is of peace. I've been glamping as well and that is 100% an amazing experience. This place is somewhere where we will return again and again. Tilly the dog is also a star. She came on a lovely walk with us around the valley. Thank you guys for a wonderful stay!

Perfect little country retreat in a beautiful location. Modern, spotless accommodation with great views over a private lake. Made even more special by a unique 4 legged tour guide Tilly (the dog) who took us on some brilliant local walks. Highly recommend to anyone seeking a relaxing break in top quality accommodation.

Hi 24maxineg Really sorry but seem to be really slow in responding to TripAdvisor reviews at the moment. Many thanks for your review and also the way you left the Lake House on departure. As you mentioned Tilly does know the farm like the back of her paw and is always up for showing people around, all for the cost of a sausage. We are really please that you enjoyed your stay and had the opportunity to relax. Kindest regards

A visit to the Lake House in the Wye Valley is to escape the bustle of everyday life. With 80 acres of woodland and meadows to explore, there’s a walk for every ability. If you’re lucky Tilly, the owner’s dog, will accompany you with a wagging tail and a smile on her face. The house is beautifully decorated, cosy and quiet. The view to to the lake is an added plus, with terraced decks to sit on and enjoy the scene. The night sky overhead benefits from a lack of light pollution and the brook babbles in the distance. We had a warming welcome from Mike, the owner, who encouraged us to scrump his apples, which we enjoyed very much. And we took advantage of the fresh herbs on offer by our gate. All in all an excellent place to stay.

Hi mvneard Thank you for you kind words, it was an absolute pleasure to have you stay with us. We were really pleased that the weather held off and you managed to get some autumn sun. It had been a little rainy before you arrived. It is alway great to get such wonderful feed back from pour guests and to hear that they enjoyed the relaxation, peace and quite the Lake House provides. Many thanks for the wonderful condition you left the Lake House in, it makes getting it ready for the next set of guests so much easier. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Lake House soon.

Had 3 nights here in late September. Loved the peace and tranquility of the site in a narrow valley with no houses or other civilisation in sight. There’s 4G internet signal if you really try but forget about that and relax! The yurts are huge and really comfortable. The log burner makes them toasty but it was cold getting up in the mornings after the fire had died down. It was 4 degrees outside though so hardly surprising. The kitchen areas had everything you needed and a nice deck to eat on and enjoy the sunshine. The friendly robin joined us for breakfast each day asking for crumbs to eat. Bathrooms were good with plentiful hot water. A bit of a pain having to share but no big deal. The site is in a lovely bit of countryside with amazing views from the top of the hills and lots of forest to explore. Would I go back again? I think I would as there’s lots more to do in the area and the yurts were great. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone. You could easily get a family of 4 in a yurt and children would love the whole experience.

Hi ferretbanana We are really pleased you had a great stay in our yurts. Thank you for your comments on the yurts, the log burners really make a difference during the last month of the season (September), when the nights start to draw in and the Autumn chill start in the evening and morning. We have made a slight change to the bathroom and kitchen sharing with the advent of the corona virus and now we have 2 separate bathrooms and 2 kitchens that are each shared by 2 yurts (2 yurts share Kitchen & bathroom 1 and 2 yurts share kitchen and bathroom 2). We do understand that this arrangement can be challenging for some, which is why we set up yurt 1 with its own private kitchen and bathroom facilities. It may be worth considering this option for your return visit. I really must thank you for the incredible condition you left the yurt in, it was so clean and tidy. Our cleaning team didn't believe that anyone had stayed. We really look forward to seeing you again.
