We have 3 gorgeous stone cottages and 6 super posh Safari glamping tents all sleeping 2-4. on an award winning organic Farm near Hay on wye. We offer food nights, sunday lunches and even fully catered events too. All produce locally sourced or produced right here on the Farm. Dogs are Welcome. Groups too. We are known for our ‘Cool Farm Stays and Gatherings in the Sticks’ and our passion for food grown the proper way. Drovers Rest is a relaxed, hands on kinda place. We pride ourselves on being much more than just posh award winning accommodation. Here it’s all about the experience you have! We believe in the magic that happens when people gather. That’s why a big part of what we do here at Drovers, is gather people. Around our farm activities, our dinner table, camp fires, walking the old Drovers paths and our Epic Events. Once you’ve experienced our convivial gatherings, you’ll never want to leave! And as we were born in Africa you’ll also feel a definite African type of vibe going on here.

What a wonderful stay! I was a little apprehensive about staying in a tent at the end of October but the thought and effort that goes into everything at Drovers Rest made the whole experience just delightful. The safari tents were incredibly well kitted out and the electric blankets meant that evening on the chilly nights we were cosy and slept incredibly well. The bathroom facilities were excellent - each tent having its own private facilities was a definite bonus - and everything was sparklingly clean. We couldn't have felt more welcome. The pizza night was a definite highlight - wonderful food and drink and great conversation. We loved the farm tour in the morning - the kids went every day as they loved the animals so much. The location is great - so close to Hay-on-Wye and great walking nearby too, Hay Bluff is highly recommended for a fairly easy but spectacular walk. We nearly skipped it because of the mist but Paul convinced us to give it a go regardless - so glad we did as it was so atmospheric at the top. You got the feeling that nothing was too much effort, and the kids described it as "the most amazing experience" and are already asking to go back.

Property's Favourite Review
Second time in a safari tent at Drovers and it was even better than the first. We had such a brilliant family holiday, so peaceful and fun. The tents themselves are more comfortable than you could imagine, the beds superb and warm, the outdoor space looking across the meadow is a stunning environment. Close enough to possible friends for the kids to make to be convenient, but far enough for quiet conversation as the sun goes down. Great wifi, amazing showers and clean EVERYTHING. Paul's farm tour, Marta's infectious enthusiasm and the delicious breakfast were our highlights, as well as our campfire and smores in the woods, which are breathtaking. Full on family fun, and Hay on Wye just an 8 min drive away for all the books, coffee and delicious food you could ever need. Our dog was probably the happiest we've seen him so far this year. We'll be back again, I'm sure.

If you like great accommodation, home-cooked food and superb service - AND you have dogs - Drovers Rest is somewhere you have try. We stayed in the Cart House with our two Hungarian Vizslas, and ate in The Barn with the family every night - and I couldn’t recommend it any higher. One of the best UK, dog-walking stays we’ve ever had. Will certainly be coming back again. Thanks DR.

Second family & friends visit to Drovers Rest Safari tents. Both trips have been in October...and on both occasions we’ve had a fabulous time. Tents have everything you need to enjoy family meals. Beds are super comfortable. Great private shower / toilet facilities..and very clean and large washing up area. Great local walks from the farm and a farm tour to see the animals is a must as it's very informative and really interesting. The site is not far from places like Hay on Wye which offers lovely river walks. It's a place where we all just switch off and enjoy a digital detox, even if you are able to get wifi!!!. Can't wait for our next visit.

A stunning peaceful place with history where you feel welcomed by its perfect hosts, the whole farm has been cherished and this is transparent through it's keepers, cleanliness, friendly animals and the whole atmosphere. The food is lovely, the Cart House was spacious, well equipped and clean. You can find anything you need here and it is with close proximity to stunning nature spots. We travel a lot and this place won't disappoint you if you love nature, animals, nice people and good food!

Had a great couple of nights, food excellent and lovely location for kids and a puppy. Family hosts very friendly and offer lots of other farm experiences. Safari tent we stayed in was great even in strong winds. Own separate shower room per tent also very good.

A fantastic 3 nights at Cart House Cottage, amazing weather, lovely accommodation and amazing setting in the beautiful hills above Hay on Wye. The farm was quiet as the schools had just gone back (we were 3 adults) and it was a midweek stay so we couldn’t enjoy the renowned Sunday lunches. We would love to go back.

Our first experience glamping and we will be back. The beds and bedding were better than at home, facilities were excellent. Pizzas were delicious on the Friday and the Sunday lunch was spot on. Wish we'd had the barbecue on the Saturday we had barbecue envy. We had some car trouble and had to stay quite a bit longer than anticipated but Paul, Kesri and Marta were so kind and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a fantastic holiday.
