Detailed Reviews
We had a 2 night break booked here as a Christmas present. Having never been to Buxton before we chose Grendon Bed and Breakfast based on its excellent reviews and we were not disappointed!.
From the minute we arrived we were made so welcome. Neil kindly helped with cases from the car and tea and cake were offered as him and Andie gave us invaluable information about Buxton (where to eat, visit, cocktail bars etc) We stayed in The Derwent room which looked out over the front of the house. Everything is to the highest standard, with the little touches making you feel like you're in a luxury 5 star hotel. The bed is incredibly comfortable, gorgeous ensuite with complimentary toiletries. Hairdryer and straighteners are provided. A silent fridge with complimentary water and the most delicious homemade shortbread on the well stocked tea and coffee station. Breakfast is out of this world.... THE best scrambled egg we've ever had. Neil is a great cook!.And we didn't need to eat until our evening meal. The local pub (The Duke) is about 600yards away and Buxton centre is a 15 minute walk. Grendon is truly a gem in Buxton. We are already planning our next trip.

My sister and I had a few days in Buxton and found this wonderful B and B on the internet.
Andie and Neil have refurbished this recently to a very high standard. The rooms are fabulous, spotlessly clean with beautiful white bedding/towels/ towelling robes. The beds are luxurious, the rooms spacious with every thing you could need for a relaxing stay. Complimentary toiletries are replenished daily as are the tea/coffee making facilities. There is a silent small fridge with fresh milk and water, also replenished daily!
Now for the food! The breakfasts are wonderful, fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurts etc. Neil cooks the hot food for the time you request, such a choice!! Andie makes cakes every day that you can help yourself to in the afternoon, if you have room! A lovely touch.
Andie and Neil themselves are so friendly and helpful, with local information, booking a meal at the local pub for us on out first night. They create a very friendly atmosphere and we found ourselves chatting every morning to them and the other two couples. It really is a home from home.
We can’t recommend this lovely place enough! We hope to return soon!

If you are looking for a B and B in Buxton - look no further than Grendon and you will not be dissappointed! As others have said Andie and Neil are delightful hosts and make you instantly feel at home. The house was immaculately clean, they have paid exceptional attention to making us feel comfortable form a Covid point of view. We were greeted with offers of tea and homemade cake and there is water and fresh milk in a silent fridge in the room. Delicious shortbread biscuits were replenished daily in our room. The bed was extremely comfortable whit crips white sheets, fluffy white towels and bathrobes were supplied. Andie and Neil were very helpful giving us advice on cycle routes and supplying yummy sandwiches. The breakfasts were amazing! Delicious fruit salad and a variety of cooked breakfasts.
We cannot recommend this B and B more highly - go and enjoy!

We have been coming to Buxton for quite a number of years and I have to say we've stayed in various places but this place ticks all the boxes! We came for a 3 night stay as we booked a show at the Opera house, from arriving to leaving the kind hospitality was amazing the owners Andie and Neil couldn't do enough. We stayed in the Errwood room with fantastic views it was exceptionally clean, spacious, and also had a fridge, dressing gowns, slippers, and tea making facilities what more could you ask for. The breakfast was amazing hot and delicious along with all the different fruits, cereals, and preserves you will never be disappointed if you stayed here. There's also plenty of parking space so no worries about that. We will always stay here when visiting Buxton. MANY THANKS to Andie and Neil and we will see you again soon.

The building is a fabulous Edwardian/Victorian house that has been refurbished to the highest level and specification and with great taste by our hosts Andie and Neil, who made us feel so welcome. The standard was set upon arrival with a nice brew and some lovely homemade cake. Nothing was too much trouble and there were
many classy touches to enhance our stay. It was a pleasure to retire to our beautifully furnished room and sleep soundly in the most comfortable of beds with the highest quality bed linen. There was a great choice for breakfast with a special every morning. eg avocado with goats cheese and poached egg with chilli flakes on toast - tasted out of this world! The food was was superbly prepared and matched by the high quality ingredients, eg black pudding from a local butcher - best i've ever tasted. As a special touch, freshly baked cake was available in the beautifully furnished lounge every afternoon. Plenty of assistance and local knowledge available from Neil and Andie when planning activities or dining out in Buxton - a pleasant 15 minute walk into the town centre through a beautiful park. It's also worth checking out if there is anything on in the theatre/Opera House. We were lucky to stay at the same time as some other really nice guests and enjoyed some lovely chats with all of them.
If I could give Grendon six stars I would.

The moment we arrived we received such a warm welcome, coffee/tea on arrival and a slice of cake. Andie & Neil took time out of their busy day to sit with us and have a chat. They are both very knowledgeable about the area and what you can do and see during your stay, offering directions. They were more than happy to suggest the good restaurant's and pubs.
The accommodation has been renovated to a really high standard and in keeping with the age of the property. The bedrooms and bathrooms are a great size, very, very tastefully decorated with really lovely touches, there's a small fridge stocked with water & milk, homemade biscuits with the tea/coffee and lovely toiletries. On our second day Neil had made muffins for us to enjoy and boy, they were delicious.
There are fab choices for breakfast and the food was exceptional as was the service. The gardens are beautiful and very well maintained.
Its about a 15 minute walk to the centre of Buxton through parkland which is most pleasant.
I honestly have to say this is the Best B&B I have ever stayed in! Before we left we booked in for a weekend in December. I have no hesitation to highly recommend Grendon B&B.... you will not be disappointed.

We have just enjoyed a very comfortable couple of nights at Grendon B&B. A warm welcome from Neil and Andie included tea and homemade muffins.
The B&B has been lovingly restored and everything is top quality from the furnishings, artworks, bedding, even the Taylors coffee bags provided in the room refreshments.
Breakfasts are exceptional with ingredients sourced from the local farm resulting in the perfect poached eggs! (many thanks Neil)
We were given plenty of advice on what to do in the area and the best restaurants to eat in. The alternative scenic route home back to the M1 was also much appreciated.
The cleanliness of the whole B&B and the extra measures that have been put in place meant that we felt extremely COVID secure during our stay.
Many thanks for the wonderful stay and for your hospitality.

On arrival at this stunning B&B in Buxton we were warmly greeted by our lovely hosts Andie & Neil who sat down & had a very friendly chat with us advising us of the best places to visit & eat in the area. Our room, Errwood, was stunning with two comfy armchairs to enjoy the glorious views, we also had delicious homemade biscuits & cakes, bottled water & milk in the mini fridge together with plenty of tea, coffee etc. The bed was huge & comfortable, the bathroom was outstanding with a roll top bath, double walk in rainforest shower, good quality toiletries together with comfy dressing gowns & slippers, hairdryer & straightners were also provided. Breakfast was delicious cooked perfectly & plenty of choice. I can’t recommend this beautiful B&B & our exceptional hosts enough.

Spent 3 nights in this excellent B &B. Would definitely recommend. Hosts Neil and Andie have put a lot of love into this property with quality fixtures and fittings. The rooms are very large, comfortable and very clean. Lovely breakfast, plenty of choice with a special every day. Homemade shortbread in your room and cakes (homemade) put out for your arrival after your day out. (nice touch).
