Friendly (family) hosts Cosy/comfortable sleep Private drive to leave car We stayed to see events at Buxton Opera House and Pavilion Arts Centre. 20 minute walk back (uphill!) but enjoyed stopping off at the Cheshire Cheese pub on the way :-)

Philippa was a delight and so helpful to us, fitting in with our timings and other requirements, despite having other jobs to do. Hilbre was my childhood home so I went with mixed feelings. It is at the northern end of Buxton in a quiet road, where one can park easily and there is a bus service into town if...

Very kind and helpful landlady greeted me. She showed me to the beautiful single room and helped me find where I needed to be for work the next day. She lent me a key to the house so I could arrive back late the following night. The room didn't have en suite (about which I was a little nervous), but...

This B&B is right on the NCN 68 and very easy to find. Philippa was friendly and helpful with good routes in the Peak District. There's secure cycle parking, a fabulous drench shower and the breakfast was particularly thought through with local products. I liked Philippa's environmental approach. Plus it was incredibly reasonably priced. I felt looked after and refreshed...

We had a lovely stay at the Hilbre B&B. Comfortable clean rooms, good location, family run, good breakfast and we were made very welcome. We stayed for one night (Saturday ) which seemed to be difficult to get in Buxton. Most B&Bs only accept min 2 nights bookings at weekends.

I stayed there for extended period for my temporary work commitment in Buxton. It would have been difficult to stay away from my family for long duration, if I was not staying here. Lovely family. Decent accommodation. Highly recommended.

A large local stone-built house about 100 years old in a beautiful quiet location next to parkland and near to Solomon's Temple viewpoint. Healthy breakfasts including Derbyshire oatcakes. I found Philippa enthusiastic, helpful and she made my stay stress-free and relaxing. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Together with local information, books and maps were freely lent to help with my...

At the end of our stay at the "Buxton Hilbre B&B", we wished that we could have stayed longer. We felt very welcome and almost at home, which was probably due to the lovely, helpful and laid-back owners, the delicious breakfast and the comfy rooms (and beds!). The B&B is located in the beautiful town of Buxton; the Peak District...
