Stayed for a meal having dropped in for a spot of lunch. New owners most obliging and helpful. Food spot on and great selection of ales. The guest room looked very comfortable & warm. A great improvement from when i visited a year ago, well done , keep up the good work.

We visited the inn recently as a base for a walking trip. The owners made us aware that they had recently acquired the business and were in the process of getting it as they wanted. What came across was they are working hard to impress and are really concerned about customer care. Good luck!! Our stay was warm, welcoming and...

A group of twelve of us stayed here recently. The place has clearly changed hands since we were here a year or so ago but the new owners seem to be making a great effort to improve things. The place was nice and clean and was being done up with new carpets etc. Rooms were all clean, en-suite with good...

Our first visit to this pub but not the last. Six of us enjoyed an evening meal and all of us agreed the meal was excellent and the landlord very welcoming . We were told that the owners had not been there long , but they ticked all the boxes for a good night out. The place is very clean...

After a cold and misty day leading a walking group we retired to the closest pub, the Jug & Glass fitted the bill nicely, after a relaxing drink a couple of us decided to stay for a meal as the menu looked very enticing, we weren't wrong the food was superb and plenty of it as well at a very...

Had a wonderful lunch just before Christmas. Good choice on menu and not too expensive to pop in any time we are passing. The owners had only been there for a few days but were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food freshly cooked, none of these microwave meals you get in the chain establishments! The meal deal...

We were 5 hungry walkers on a cold, wet January day who received the warmest of welcomes from the most pleasant manager. We dined in the bar which is tastefully decorated with what looks like new carpeting and the heating was on. Meals were ordered from the main board and portions and quality were excellent. We thought that a sandwich/baguette...

What a lovely place to stay. My sister and I were on a walking holiday and we were exhausted when we arrived but nothing was too much trouble for the owners. I would definitely recommend staying here, our room was very comfortable and spotless and the breakfast was delicious.

Enjoyed a very pleasant weekend in this lovely establishment. We were made to feel very welcome, had lovely room with great view across the Derbyshire countryside. There were good toiletries, and plenty of tea and coffee as well as bottles of water in the room. A good choice of evening meals which were large sized portions and the full breakfast...

Called in on the way back from Manchester. The staff were very friendly, although the restaurant was full they found a table in the bar area for us to eat. The food was lovely and hot and we had a nice evening We would recommend stopping here, it may be worth booking in advance though
