Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

A perfect place to stay; within walking distance of town. We stayed during Buxton Festival. Rooms of a good size, airy and comfortably equipped with refrigerator, and jug of fresh milk and water daily. Large bed comfortable with smooth, cool, ironed sheets. Beyond the usual breakfasts of full English with all kinds of variants, including vegetarian, there are two daily specials, ranging from Eggs Benedict, Derbyshire Oatcakes filled with blueberry compote, Salmon and Scrambled egg (oh yummy!) and Chunky Fish Finger sandwiches. Wonderful host, for whom, nothing is too much trouble.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this wonderful B&B. The room was very spacious and the bed was super king size and so comfortable. The room had a well stocked hospitality tray and even a fridge with fresh milk in it. The En Suite had many complimentary toiletries. The bedroom and En suite were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast, which you chose the evening before, was perfectly cooked to order and sets you up for day. Martin was the perfect host. Very attentive and helpful. The B&B has some parking spaces but you can park outside on the road . The shops and attractions of Buxton could not be closer.

Everything in this B & B works beautifully! Attention to detail means that the shower is great, the room big and airy, and the bed and bedding very nice indeed…. Martin is a superb host and makes the best breakfast. He is also a good tour guide!! We felt happy and well looked after which was wonderful….

I am going to struggle to say anything new - we stayed for three nights during the festival and enjoyed our stay. The weather was kind and the welcome warm. The only thing I would add, if pressed, is that I would feel safer with a grab bar in the shower/bath. Always makes me happier to hold on to something in case of a slip. Otherwise, immaculate and faultless. Plenty of on street parking nearby if required.

Stayed for three nights over the bank holiday, room was excellent with comfy bed ,flat screen TV on the wall ,fridge and plenty of tea and coffee with fresh milk . The bathroom was spotless with complementary soaps and a powerful shower, Martin the owner was an excellent host whose breakfasts every morning were freshly cooked with plenty of choice of cereals, fruit and home made granola as well, I would thoroughly recommend a stay here if you are thinking of visiting Buxton and if we return we will definitely be staying here again.

Perfect weekend away from London. Lovely accommodation and convenient to town through nice park (also very conveniently located to Poole’s Cavern and Go Ape). The breakfasts were delicious and Martin was an exceptional host!

Exceptional couple of nights at Griff House. We stayed in Room 4 which had a lovely bay window with chairs and a table. Rooms are spacious and clean, with a large comfy bed. The bathroom is modern, comes with eco friendly shower gels, soap, lotion etc and most importantly for me.. a lovely powerful and very warm shower! (very much enjoyed after lots of walking!) The room has a fridge which is very useful for storing lunches if, like us, you're off for long days adventuring (though Martin and Kathryn also supply packed lunches upon request). The tea/coffee facilities are stocked generously each day, including fresh water, milk and delicious biccies! The best part of the trip for us, however, was Marvellous Martin! Nothing was too much trouble.. from offering to help us unload the car, to giving recommendations and providing the ability to print walking routes if we needed it. The food was absolutely delicious and Martin went above and beyond to make breakfast with little extras and exactly how we liked it. The B&B came with a daily breakfast menu, plentiful, but there are also daily specials which are a delicious touch. An extremely friendly and top notch B&B.. if we could give it 6/5 we would!! Thank you.. from two very happy guests who will very much be back.

The reviews are true, it's excellent, probably the best/nicest B&B we stayed in and without a doubt we'll be back when in the area Only allowed 1500 words so here goes. Plenty of on road parking in a quiet area, Martin did offer to move his so we could park onsite. Spotlessly clean and tidy from entry to leaving in all areas. Room 4 large with nice bay with chairs and table, a folder and leaflets giving plenty of details. A King size bed and more than ample draws and storage, all simple but quality, a 50" smart tv, Tea/Coffee tray amply supplied daily with biccies etc. Thoughtful touches, a fridge with fresh milk, an alarm clock, tissues and a large bottle of water daily. The en-suite was modern and white with Shampoo & Shower Gel etc added, Huge white Bath towels as well as hand towels. Breakfast was ordered night before, usual Full or lite, customised, cereals, juices, fruit etc even a special or 2 nightly on the board, another nice touch. The room was bright and airy, as were all we used. For us Martin was the star, nothing to much trouble, knowledgeable and as helpful as he could be, even offering to help unload then load our car. He advised us on a lovely level walk into Town, a real help and also advised on eateries and sights. I would wholeheartedly recommend this lovely B&B to anyone. One thing finally, watch the water pressure is very very high, first time I opened tap, I looked like I'd had an accident. I cannot praise Martin enough for a memorable stay, Thanks you.
