Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Roseleigh Guest House is situated in an idyllic setting off a quiet road. Some bedrooms overlook the small lake in Pavilion Park and you can see all the interesting wildlife that it supports. The Roseleigh is only a few minutes’ walk from the Buxton Opera House and most of this is on a non traffic road. This will be the fourth time my wife and I have stayed at the Roseleigh; it is our first choice when looking for accommodation in Buxton. The quality of fittings and fixtures inside the Roseleigh is one of the best we have seen in a guest house. The breakfast food is delicious; there is also information provided on which local suppliers they use. When you book Roseleigh they send detailed information about what to do in Buxton and the restaurants they would recommend. All the staff at Roseleigh are friendly and helpful.

Property's Favourite Review
Excellent base to explore Buxton and the Dales. It’s very conveniently situated, easy to get to, facing the park and less than 10mins walk to restaurants. The bed was wonderful, duvet very nice to snuggle into. Room’s clean, fresh. Big variety of drinks to make in the room. And if your favourite tea bag isn’t there, they’ll gladly supply it from the breakfast room, just ask. Very practical bathroom (with a mixer tap!) and the nicest smelling soap in England! It’s worth getting out of that lovely bed for breakfast alone! Greek yogurt and plums .. yummy. Also, the cafetière keeps coffee nice and hot for the whole of breakfast. The waiting staff are excellent, kind and helpful, always on hand with local advice. And lastly, it helps if you’re a rugby fan but don’t worry if not, it won’t be held against you 😄

This is a perfect B&B. Large double rooms, en suite, large double bed, built in wardrobe and separate chest of drawers. Excellent traditional English breakfast served by friendly and efficient staff. Instant hot water at the sink and shower. The hotel is on the Broad Walk facing the Pavilion Lake. No disturbance from traffic, only from geese and ducks! Lots of advice available for tourists unfamiliar with Buxton and/or the Peak District.

Such a friendly greeting from the owner. Everywhere was spotless, our room was enormous and a lovely comfy king-size size bed. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice, I just had the porridge and toast but my husband had the scrambled egg and smoked salmon as it was good Friday and we don't eat meat on that day, but there was an option of a cooked breakfast which all looked good. The hotel was in prime location of all pubs and restaurants. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely return, think we have found our go to place finally in Buxton. Thanks for a lovely stay

A really wonderful stay that we couldn’t fault at all. The hosts were first class and couldn’t have been more helpful, welcoming or knowledgeable. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room was cosy and the facilities were great. Excellent breakfast and location and the towel art was a lovely touch. It really was a perfect base with great hosts. Thank you!

Had a very enjoyable weekend despite the snow in Buxton. Staying at Roseleigh was comfortable and we had a room overlooking the lake. The staff were professional, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was generous and first class.

Gerard and Maggi were fantastic. The B&B is beautiful and nothing was too much trouble. Gerard was also very proactive and helpful in communications, for instance with emailing some local walks or messaging us on the day of check-in to advise that the room was ready earlier than planned and offering us an early check-in. The breakfast was lovely too, with a good quality and plentiful hot breakfast, along with a full range of continental selections on the side. Truly excellent.

Superb location, wonderful room (4) with lake views, very comfortable bed and pillows, and super power shower! Whole house is spotless and comfortable, breakfast was perfect every day (3) and all the staff we encountered were lovely, friendly and helpful. We had tickets for Buxton Opera House, the Northern Soul show, so booked the trip around it. Literally 5 mins walk around the park to it. Gerard helped us with a recommendation for a pub showing rugby where we could also eat and we were not disappointed . The Old Sun Inn just 5 mins away in the high street. Were made to feel very welcome and that we could ask for anything and they would try to accommodate! A lovely break.
