Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a very enjoyable 5 night stay at Fernydale farm. The farm is in a lovely location with beautiful scenery and is ideally positioned for visiting Buxton,Bakewell and Ashbourne. Jayne was very welcoming and couldn’t have done more to make our stay so great. Our room was very comfortable and we slept very soundly. There was lots of choice at breakfast , everything was of a very high standard, locally sourced and well cooked. It was so nice to watch the cows heading to their fields in the morning from our breakfast table and then see them returning later in the day. We were lucky to be there when 2 calves were born and Jayne allowed us to see them being fed in the barn. It was a very relaxing holiday and we can’t wait to return next year. 5 ⭐️ all

We cannot recommend a stay on this lovely farm highly enough! The location is beautiful - the farm nestles in its own little dale, and is surrounded with stunning scenery . Jayne cannot make you feel more welcome ! Our room was comfy, spotlessly clean and had gorgeous views out over the farm and to the pretty hills beyond. It was magical to see the cows gathering and wondering down off the hillside into the farm to be milked. The breakfasts were absolutely magnificent - Jayne offers a great menu choice of top quality ingredients, so everyone receives their own tailor made meal. We absolutely loved our stay here, and will definitely be back !

My husband and I stayed at Fernydale Farm for 2 nights with our 2 dogs. A warm welcome on arrival we checked into our very clean comfortable room with lovely en suite. Once unpacked we had a walk around the village and the paths pointed out to us by our lovely host Jayne, lots of nice walks on the doorstep. On the evening we drove the short distance (about 15mins) to Bakewell which is well worth a visit and has lots of nice bars and dog friendly restaurants. On day 2 we had the first of the delicious breakfasts served (great choice and all cooked to perfection, particularly liked the fresh fruit salad on offer) and then drove to Chatsworth House. We explored the gardens (unable to go into house with dogs) followed by a nice walk along the river in Bakewell on way back to Fernydale farm. Jayne recommended a lovely pub/restaurant to eat on the evening, Church Inn at Chelmorton, and we were not disappointed. Fernydale is a working dairy farm so bear that in mind if you not a fan of livestock otherwise I highly recommend a stay here. Picture attached is the lovely view from our room

Another wonderful stay at Fernydale farm. We had two nights stay in the family room, and my parents in the double room. This was our second stay and just as good as we remembered ( my parents 8th stay). Loved seeing the cows and exploring around the farmyard to see all the calves. Great breakfast as always and just like staying home from home. Yasmin as ever was so welcoming and everything was prefect. Views were amazing each morning especially my eight year old twins watching the cows go out into the field each morning. Lovely to wake up to the sounds of the cows getting ready to be milked. We will return again

We didn’t really know what to expect from a working dairy farm, but was pleasantly surprise, we had one of the front rooms which was excellent and very clean, and spacious, we didn’t get there until 6pm and they were just in the process of getting the cows in for milking, which was nice to see, and at 745am they take the cows out to pasture, which got my wife out of bed… the breakfast was one of the best i have had and equally my wife enjoyed the Derbyshire oat cakes, which aren’t cakes… we loved our stay there that much we booked for longer next September and will be going back again before that hopefully

Fernydale Farm is the ideal location for a few nights to stay in the Peak District. We had a lovely clean room with an en-suite and very comfy bed. The room had super views across the farm to the surrounding peaks and beyond. The breakfast was lovely, everything was plentiful, of great quality and very well cooked, Yasmin is very welcoming host, helpful and making you feel valued. A great place to stay.

We had the best 3 night stay here. Myself, my husband and 10 year old son were made to feel so welcome by yasmin and her family/farm staff. We felt like we were staying with family. We stayed in the family room which was clean, comfy and had everything we needed. We could use the dining room and conservatory and garden too. My son loved playing on the swing in the garden whilst looking at the views, and stroking the rabbits, guinie pig and cows. We were able to meet and feed the cows and calfs that were born during our first night and my son loved it. Breakfast was delicious I am lactose abd gluten free and Yasmin catered for this which is brilliant. Thank you, We will be back

Had a lovely weekend at Fernydale Farm. Very clean, beautiful views and great breakfasts. Yasmin and co were so lovely it felt like we were staying with family. There are lots of walks which can be done from the bed and breakfast - we went up the public footpath by the old pub in the village and it was a 5-10 minute walk to spectacular views. Already looking at when we can stay again! Thanks so much

Stayed 2 nights in July 2021. Ideal b and b as a base for cycling trips, if you don't mind hills. Bikes left in barn overnight. Clean and comfortable, excellent breakfast, good value. Yasmin was interested and helpful. A working farm, avoid if you don't like cows.
