Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly, knowledgeable hosts and a great breakfast. Compared with the main hotel in town this is a gem - clean, friendly, comfortable and warm.

Free parking is available a short walk from the B&B. It is about 15 minutes walk to the centre of Buxton.

I have stayed here with my partner several times, so I thought I would write a review, this is a guest house in Buxton, spa town in Derbyshire.
The guest house is in a fantastic position, right near the centre and a stumble away from the pubs, try the swan with its warm fire or the cheshire cheese for live music.
The rooms are always warm and the beds are lovely, the owners make sure you are comfy, definately the best beds we have had in a guest houese, or hotel.
Room rates are very good aswell, it can vary but on average £50-£60 a night.
Breakfast is lovely, with proper baked bread for the toast and delicious preserves. Also well presented. I didnt have English Breakfast but other guests bacon and eggs etc looked and smelled great.
Nothing is any trouble for the owners, even found he had slipped me some anti-acid tablets under the door when we got in after an evening out as when we bumped into him in the Swan and I mentioned I had heartburn. !
We have been to this guest house 3 times. Highly reccomended. They have a website too.
Buxton itself is lovely, lots of antique type shops to browse. and walks to go on.

Great B&B in Buxton. Good location - close enough to the town to be handy (5 mins walk) but far enough away to be quiet. Room was clean, heating was cosy, bed was comfortable & hostess was very welcoming & accomodating. All the other guests were friendly, the hostess knew everyone by name and the guests that we spoke to were all repeat customers. Good breakfast - filled us up all day (well till about 4 in the afternoon!). Parking available outside but spaces were filled as soon as they became free, failing that there was free parking on the streets opposite & just off to the side and as a last resort a very reasonable pay & display car park just next door. Will stay again if ever in Buxton again.

Husband and myself stayed in this charming guest house while attending a wedding at the Pavillion Gardens. Room number 1 was spotless, en suite, lovely fresh smelling bedding, fluffy towels, tea/coffee making facilities. Very nice landlady who made us very welcome and made a delicious full english breakfast with a huge pot of tea.

One of the nicest landladies I have ever met. The place is spotless, the rooms are a reasonable size, the breakfasts are good and plentiful, and the room rate was the cheapest I have encountered in a long time. We stayed with her for four nights, changing rooms for one night. The twin on the first floor was light and airy. There was even an ironing board and iron in the room. The beds were fairly comfortable, but if you must have a soft bed the twin on the top floor has memory foam mattresses, although it's relatively dark and not en suite (bathroom just a few paces opposite). There's also a collection of DVDs on the top floor, which guests are welcome to borrow during their stay. Sue is a very friendly and helpful host and will make you very welcome. As b&bs go this is terrific value and we will definitely stay with her again. We cannot recommend her highly enough.

Ash Corner is close to the market place in upper Buxton and about a 10 minute walk max to the Opera House, Pavilion (Tourist Information, food, drink and exhibitions) and Spring Gardens - about 5 mins on level ground and about 5 mins steep downhill, assuming medium walking pace. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby in upper Buxton. The market place is also where you catch buses to other places. Some routes are incredibly scenic and there are plenty of interesting places to visit. It took us about 15-20 minutes to walk to and from the train station, but Buxton is a fairly small town and nowhere is far away.

Is parking available at the property?
Answer from B B A

There is on street parking as we are in a residential area. If not available there is a public car park within a few minutes walk of the property and can give you a parking permit for free overnight parking from 4pm to 11am. Daytime parking in this car park is charged at £3.50 all day. Hope this helps from Adam and Yvonne Smith, Ash Corner Bed and Breakfast.
