We stayed here in The Corbar Appartment for a Monday to Friday break. My husband and I and my daughter and her fiancé and Chester the dog. Arrival time was 15.00 pm onwards. After checking in at Reception a lady drove and we followed to the appartment. The lights were lit ready and the heating on! Kitchen area very well equipped. Everything we thought they might not have they did. Plenty of plates/ glasses/ mugs etc too. We didn’t cook as we ate out but you could of ! First bedroom upstairs very spacious. Hairdryer if needed. Basic furnishings. New spacious shower room with good shower. 2nd bedroom downstairs off the kitchen with two single beds. Probably not great set up for a young family but suited us. Lounge area slightly dated but cosy and always warm. Patio doors onto little terrace. DVDs supplied… we watched a couple as limited channels and no WiFi in the evenings. A good bookcase choice too…. Alas no time for reading! Fantastic location about 30 mins drive to most locations. Dovedale Matlock Bakewell etc. We walked into Buxton no problem. Probably wouldn’t want to walk back in the dark. The pubs are fantastic for being dog friendly and we were made welcome at all the ones we tried! Because of Covid you have to do a bit of housekeeping before you leave which wasn’t a problem but would of been nice to have had till at least 10.00 am still instead of 9.00am as we felt our last morning was slightly rushed. Would we go back? Definitely! The dog absolutely loved his beautiful walks too. Morrison’s supermarket 5 mins down the road. Very handy and open till 10.00pm most evenings.

We stayed last weekend and thought the site was in a lovely location and has decent facilities. The tent pitch was on a slope (as were most on the field), but we managed. The disappointing thing was the loud bangs that went off every hour from 7am to 7pm from the farmer at the back, to scare the birds away. My 3 year old son was petrified every time it went off. I spoke to a guy who has a caravan there and he said it had only been going on for a couple of weeks, but he wasn't happy about it. It's a shame as it has definitely put us off from returning. Other than that, the site was lovely and quiet in the evening, which is ideal for us with young children.

We were sited in our large tent on a slope so felt sleeping and eating sideways for a week so not ideal. Also be aware the pitches are NOT well spaced. We had people pitching up 6ft from the side of our tent on one side. Unfortunately they arrived when we were out for the day so we couldn't do anything about it. Staff were lawn mowering virtually every day; one young chap in particular spent 2 hours meticiously dashing around us for 5, yes 5 cuts until we gave in and retreated to our tent then he decided to cut the front of ours twice! Unfortunately we had very rude inconsiderate people staying either side of us so didnt sleep for a week and drunk elderly people kept us awake so relented to using my ear buds every night. Didnt seem to observe the 10pm curfew. The shower block was fairly decent although no hairdryer in the family room. They only have 1 x washing machine and 1 x dryer so be prepared for a long wait. They are only open 9am till 4.30pm for washing so again not ideal for people that want to go out for the day and wash at night like us so wasted 5 hours during my holiday doing washing. We wont be staying again as we prefer a quiet site. If you want peace and quiet in a tent away from rowdy ankle biters this is not the place to come.

This is our first time on this site and it certainly wont be our last. The Team have done a great job in making the site welcome to all campers regardless of whether you are a tent, mobile, pod or static owners/renter. In an ideal spot on the outskirts of Buxton you are in the middle of the wonderful peak district lushness whilst being within a 15-20 minute walk right into the town centre. With a shop, laundry room, free freezer service and showers what more could you ask for from a site. The Team were always busy on the site keeping it clean and the landscaping perfect. A great location for exploring the surrounding hills and a small car journey to the wonderfully English county village of Ashford in the water and Bakewell a few miles from there (stock up on those tarts!). The camping field we were on was at the back of the site with a slight slope only but there with several flat areas between the reception and the field which were employed as the weekend hit. There was also a touring field where our friends camped with EHUs this field had its own toilet/shower block. Even just entering the site you got a really calming feeling as you drove through the static vans towards reception so will be returning here as soon as we can..
