Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We always stay at Basildon South for convenience, and the staff are always cheerful, friendly and welcoming, and the rooms comfortable and quiet. Today I had a very quick and helpful email response to a query about my bookings. Big companies often fail at individual customer care and can be soulless, but the staff here clearly take pride in their work.

If this is representative of all Premier Inns why bother to look elsewhere!
Staff were friendly and efficient, rooms were beautifully clean with large comfortable king size beds and everything we needed (including good supplies of tea, coffee and milk - plenty of top-up supplies on reception too), granted the bathrooms are a bit on the small side but, they’re immaculately presented with dispensers for hand wash and hair/bodywash provided.
NOTE: One safety negative is the lack of a grab handle on the wall beside the bath. Difficult for older/less agile guests to bathe or shower.
The beefeater pub/restaurant next door provided good food too. It is very busy and guests really need to book their tables for breakfast, particularly at weekends. (We did)
A very good stay.
Many thanks.

We stayed for 2 nights 31st Jan - 2nd Feb 2020. Upon arrival we were a little early for check in although having explained to the receptionist that we had endured a long train journey down and were going to visit my mother in law at the nearby hospital, the receptionist accommodated us by getting a room ready. Afterwards we came back down and the receptionist booked us a taxi to take us to the hospital approx. £5 from here. The reception team were lovely. We had a great night's sleep in the comfy hypnos bed and breakfasts were very good. We had lunch one day and an evening meal on the Saturday evening these were enjoyable - the only exception being I would advise to go for dinner early to avoid the crowd's. We dined around 8pm after we returned from the hospital and the noise was over bearing, although that is no reflection to the staff who were very attentive. I would recommend for a good night's sleep and decent breakfast.

We pre booked and pre paid £45 for our room and were impressed at what we found. A large room with a comfortable bed and a well lit dressing table for my wife. Also the bathroom was well appointed, a powerful shower with plenty of hot water. We had a ground floor room looking out onto the car park and considering the hotel is right next to the main A13 we were surprised at how quiet it was.
Struggled to master the room heating but this wasn’t an issue so didn’t bother to seek help from Reception. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Would use Premier again and recommend this particular location.

Online check in , easy check out . Staff very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Restaurant next door was easy to get to and the service quick and friendly considering they were very busy on the Sunday morning as they cater for walk ins not staying at the hotel

Reception staff was very good, happy, polite, booked in with no problems. Room was warm and very clean, bed comfortable, we had a very peaceful nights sleep.
Had a meal at the Brewers Fayre next door which was very good as was breakfast the following morning, would highly recommend staying here.

The hotel was conveniently located with friendly staff, checked in online and was simply handed the keys on arrival. Room was clean, nice smell, had a comfortable quiet sleep, staff were friendly, enough towels where provided. Will definitely stay in this hotel next time. The price was higher than I was prepared to pay thou.

We live locally and needed to move out of home for a few weeks due to renovation work. We chose this hotel for convenience initially but it quickly became clear that we had chosen a quality hotel overall. The staff are fantastic. Couldnt do enough for us. The room was immaculate. Free wifi was sufficient for our needs and it was right next door to the haywain beefeater which we ate in regularly. In all we had a great stay and will definitely be back when we want a break locally

the second we entered the room the smell of cigarette smoke hit us, i immediately informed the reception & looked for another room, unfortunately there was not, she offered to spray air freshener & have a wipe around while we was out, on our return it was apparent that the spray had not worked, My wife even said it feels dirty, and the place felt very unclean, we had driven down from Scotland & can honestly say its the worst stay we have had at this site, The cleaning staff should have noticed this (unless they are smokers they may not have) to leave a room stinking the way it was was ridiculous, reception said she knew who it was & they do it on a regular basis ???? why let them get away with it ???, The smell was still there in the morning, Also The pillows are just too big and too firm, i know you cant cater for everyone but the children had to use a rolled up towel as the pillows are too big and hard. Breakfast was cold too, i think they were expecting a rush for mothers day so had a lot of food pre cooked on a hot plate, by this time we had had enough and just wanted to get home

I would say so, near the back of the car park but it would take up a few spaces.
