We had a lovely stay with Poppy. A very welcoming host, a delicious 4 course home cooked meal an amazing breakfast accompanied by home made jam and a take away Kale plant what more could you want from a weekend away!
I thoroughly enjoyed my all too short stay. Poppy is a wonderful hostess and the food and conversation at dinner was superb. My pre dinner G and T was one of the best ever. I wish I could have stayed the second night with my sister in law and her husband.
My husband and I had 3 very relaxing nights at the very comfortable Uplands House near Banbury. Poppy is a wonderful hostess and so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. We discussed the dinner menu for the following night whilst sitting in the lounge having cocktails it all felt very grand. The dinners were delicious and Poppy worked so hard to make a meal that all her guests would be able to eat which included home grown fruits and vegetables. It was an added bonus that she was able to join us for dinner at her beautifully laid dining table which was decorated with flowers, candles and lovely china, as she was so interesting to talk to. Breakfast was also very good and a wonderful selection of home made jams were there to be tasted. The bedroom which had a beautiful view was very comfortable with tea and coffee facilities plus lots of little extras like shoe horn and dressing table mirror. The bathroom had the softest towels and dressing gown I have had anywhere. We look forward to staying here again. …
What a joy! We stayed for 3 nights in the four poster bedroom Poppy is the most wonderful host. We loved sharing the table with her for dinner on our first night followed by breakfast each morning. Poppy and Graham cooked dinner for us on our arrival and the food was delicious. Beautifully cooked with a lovely bottle of wine and excellent company. Our room was spotless with everything you might need during your stay. The bed was comfortable with beautiful linen. Dont look any further! Book yourself into this charming and eclectic country house and you wont be disappointed. Cant wait to come back soon!
As soon as we crossed the threshold, we discovered what a treat it was to stay at Uplands House. Nothing was too much trouble for Poppy and Graham, our welcoming hosts, from afternoon tea with cake warm from the oven, to advice about the wealth of local places of interest to visit. Our bedrooms were impressively comfortable, the beds themselves and goose down pillows noteworthy, as well as the cosy bath sheets and instant hot water. We’ll remember the gourmet dinners presented with flair (mmmm, that ratatouille, Graham) and garnished with fresh fruit and veg from the garden, as much for the lively conversation. Breakfasts challenged dinner for deliciousness and it was impossible not to have an extra slice of toast in order to sample Poppy’s array of home made jam and marmalade. Thank you, Poppy and Graham, for an unforgettable visit to your home.…
