We booked one night at Hanwell House after doing some research on TripAdvisor . We were looking for a central location to bridge visits between Bletchley and Oxford and we were not disappointed! Jan is an extremely friendly hostess for whom nothing is too much trouble. Our room was fresh, comfortable and spotlessly clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional with a wide range of dishes on offer and all freshly prepared. On Jan's recommendation we ate at the local pub, the Hanwell Arms which was a short, easy walk and very good value for money. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Hanwell House and will certainly stay there again when we are in this part of the country. The location is ideal for reaching a wide variety of destinations quickly and easily.

I booked into Hanwell House B&B through Booking.com. Jan quickly asked for my e-mail address and subsequently sent me directions. The stay was very comfortable, tea and coffee tray in my room replaced daily. There is a room with en-suite, I had a room with bathroom on the first floor, which was very comfortable, if I wished I could have locked the bathroom but I didn't need to. The house is kept very clean and tidy, I was up early in the morning and was able to make my own breakfast before leaving. Jan and Nigel are very friendly and accommodating.

Just returned home after a beautiful stay at Hanwell House, I am one of high expectations when it comes to accommodation after working in luxury establishments for many years, Jan and Nigel completely blew me out of the water, Jan dedication to her quaint little home was unwavering, from the home made biscuits to the lovely little notes to make your stay that much simpler. Nigel and Jan were great hosts and I wish to thank them for inviting us into their home. The bed was so comfy and the cleanliness was outstanding in the rooms. The breakfast was delicious and jan makes a lot of it herself from the marmalades, lemon curd to the gooseberries and rubarb compotes everything had a sense of love behind it. I would recommend them without any hesitation and I look forward to taking my family there soon.

I only stayed one night but it was great. Jan is a great hostess and we sat out in the garden drinking tea and eating homemade biscuits. There was a good choice for breakfast and everything was of a really good quality. For example all the homemade jams and the sausages and bacon is locally sourced. I would definitely recommend Hanwell House!

Jan and Nigel have a lovely, immaculately clean home, and they are very welcoming and accommodating hosts, going above and beyond to be helpful. (The homemade cookies in our room on arrival was an appreciated extra.) Breakfast is made to order and was delicious. Our room, the Croperdy, was very comfortable.

I rely heavily on the honesty of Trip Advisor reviews, so there were some things I wish I had known ahead of time. The stairs are steeper and narrower than any other place we stayed during our month in the UK, which might be more problematic for some. They have cats (which we happen to love, but...) which are kept out of the bedrooms and dining room, but those steps would not be enough for anyone with a real allergy to cats. Our bathroom was a good size, but the shower was VERY small, and as we are not, it was tricky for us.

If these things are of no importance to you, than a stay at Hanwell House certainly lives up to all its excellent reviews and is an excellent value.

This bed and breakfast is fantastic. I stayed here for 2 nights for my sisters' wedding, with my sister, her other bridesmaid, my husband my 2 children (aged 2 and 4) and my mum and step dad. When we arrived on the Friday night my sister had bunting and bubbles in her room waiting, and they had even planted some flowers in the garden in case we wanted photos before departing for the church. The owners here are so welcoming, helpful and accommodating it is impossible to find any fault. The rooms were plenty big enough with excellent facilities, the beds very comfortable, the temperature adjustable to suit and lovely showers and clean new bathrooms (with very fluffy towels and robes if required). Since my sister was getting married the whole bridal party needed to meet here before we went to the church. Not only did the owners welcome this, here is a list of things they did which were way over and above the service one would normally expect:

1. The 4 bridesmaids and 1 Paige boy aged 1234 and 5 were welcomed in to get ready and eat lunch here, despite most of them not staying here, and that children are not normally allowed so that they do not disturb other guests. Nigel even found some nursery rhymes to put on for them while they were eating their lunch!
2. My mum forgot her hat and only remembered when we were nearly at the church. When I phoned to check if everyone had gone, Jan insisted that they would bring it to the church for us - 20 minutes drive away.
3. One of the bridesmaids forgot her overnight bag, and again Jan and Nigel went out of their way to deliver it for her.
4. When we got back fom the wedding our rooms had been immaculately tidied and all strewn about clothes had been folded (there were 5 small children to get dressed in a very short time before departing for the church so it was quite chaotic)!

This is service that can't be found in a hotel! The breakfast was delicious with some locally sourced produce and something for everyone to choose from. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and if my husband and I are ever staying in this area again we will most certainly return. Thank you so much Jan and Nigel for your kindness and help on this special weekend. Well done, I hope this venture continues to go well for you.

Lovely place, very accommodating hosts. Rooms are exceptionally clean and well presented. Some really nice touches (bath robes, homemade biscuits, etc.) - the owners clearly care about their guests having a wonderful stay.

Much more character than a Premier Inn!

We stayed at Hanbury House as part of a wedding party and from the moment of booking our room felt that we were being looked after by Jan. From pre-booking our taxi home from the wedding, suggesting where we could have a quick lunch (and giving us a voucher for 20% off), to providing the delicious homemade cookies in the room, we knew we had made the right choice of where to stay.
Our bed was comfortable, the room was spotless and the location was quiet and peaceful.
Breakfast was amazing with a huge range of choice. We are so grateful to Jan and Nigel for making us feel welcome and would definitely recommend a stay at Hanwell House!

Writing this a few weeks since our visit. This was our third visit and we've always loved it. Jan and Nigel always make us feel at home.
Only a few rooms but they are spotless. Jan's breakfasts are beautiful and keep you going well past lunch.
Can't recommend Hanwell House enough, if you can get in.
P. S. Thanks for returning my socks Jan.
