Stayed here on numerous occasions with work. The Manor is on the outskirts of town, so is reasonably quiet but gives you a choice of places to eat (chains and some independents). Restaurant has typical pub grum fare, but steaks aren't too bad. Rooms are OK size wise. Beds have been recently upgraded and are very good. Bathrooms need a...

We often stay at Old English Inns all over the country, and when an offer for B& B comes up at 18.50 each a night, you get booking pretty quickly.!! We chose two nights at Yeovil being a central area for lots of other Somerset towns and also loved the look of the attractive Georgian house which the hotel is...

I stayed here for 2 nights 6th-7th-8th January visiting my daughter and grandchildren and as a single person visiting the area for the first time I was bowled over by the friendliness that was warm and welcoming and welcome after a 4 hour journey. Lovely hotel with a rugged aged look complimented by a mixture of old world meets new...

We had our wedding here. It was absolutely brilliant. All the staff were fantastic and so hard working especially a young man called josh. Nothing was too much trouble. Our point of contact was the wonderful vicky and cat who were so attentive. The hotel accommodated our guests with ease. The ceremony was held in the conservatory and the evening...

I didn't stay at hotel but arrived at 815am for meeting with colleagues and Christmas lunch. I'd driven 3 hours and requested breakfast on arrival. Louise on front desk was very helpful and I enjoyed tea and toast which was excellent. The restaurant area is very comfortable, quiet and relaxing. The toaster machine was very fast compared to most hotel...

I was twice on business trip and I had chosen the hotel due to location and his old English style of the building. First experience everything was ok, but second time I was not so happy anymore. Electric kettle from my room was dirty, you can see the limestone deposits turning into sand, those need some attention once in a...

I have stayed here for two nights on a business trip. The double room is amazing, especially for one person! The bed could easily fit 4 ;) The meal on the first night wasnt the best, i had a sunday roast with mash. The mash was blatantly microwaveable mash as it was still in the cylinder shape when it arrived...

After being given our room key and checking in we went along to our rooms. We were having a double and the MIL and her friend were in a twin room. We were put next to eachother. On first impression of the rooms which were situated in the Stables (an extension to the Hotel), we were not exactly delighted. This...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Refurbished three years ago The Manor is located in the Somerset town of Yeovil with easy access via the A303. An Ideal base if visiting Yeovilton, Sherborne. Built in 1735 by local glover and merchant banker John Daniel, the house was known as Hendford House. After he passed away the house was rented out until 1927 when it became The Manor Hotel. A manor it may not be, but it is certainly elegant enough to be one. Its classical facade and porch are of warm, mellow stone, and to its long single wing, also of stone. It has a cheerful modern bar with scrubbed floorboards and pale beechwood furniture and fittings. Today the hotel is a firm favourite with locals and travellers alike. You will be assured of a very warm welcome and great hospitality. Yeovil is the ideal spot from which to explore Hardy's Wessex. Nearby attractions include Glastonbury Abbey. ... more   less
