Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for one night whilst away on business. Rooms are in a nearby newer building adjacent to the pub. Room was spacious and had all mod coms e.g USB ports and smart TV. Pub is an old traditional inn with friendly staff in the morning and evening. Standard pub food, nothing special.

We were on our way back from a mini break in Dorset and decided to stop for lunch, on entering the pub, we were greeted with smiling faces of the staff, the landlord greeted us and showed us to a vacant table near the fire, which he lit for us. The starter was prompt and very tasty, followed by the main course, again no faults with the service or the food, the experience was lovely and the food fresh. I would recommend a visit and we will be calling in again when passing the area.

Ordered a bit roast at £16 Over boiled vegetables Tasted like granule gravey The nut roast was less than a centimetre thick and basically just rice Potatoes dry Overall poor taste experience Staff tried to help saying “ it’s common to have rice in a nut roast “ - but I couldn’t detect any nuts in it at all !!

Wonderful lunch. Great choice of meals. Good value for money. Great portion size. Staff were very professional, friendly and chatty. Lovey atmosphere, great Christmas decorations, a very welcoming atmosphere. Homemade cheesecake is divine! Recommend booking as very popular!

The positive of this stay was the friendly staff. They were all great. Unfortunately, everything else not so much. The room hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly. Upon entering we found what looked like part of a covid test on the floor! The bathroom had a lot of mould on the tiles. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It was a very cheap soft mattress and we could feel the springs digging into us! We were in a ground floor room and the noise from above us kept us awake. We could hear them walking, going to the toilet amongst other things! As well as this, the bed had a window above it without blinds or curtains and light shone through it onto us all night. We did not get a good nights sleep. For breakfast we had a full English if you could call it that! It consisted of just one rasher of bacon, one sausage, one egg, half a tomato, a small pot of beans and some toast! See photo for how small this was! All in all a very disappointing stay and we would not return or recommend.

Had a lovely Sunday meal at the Coach and Horses. The food was delicious but I was more impressed with the service we received by a young man called Luke. He was friendly, helpful and had a lovely calm manner about him. I don't normally bother giving reviews but Luke definitely deserves a mention. Service that rarely gets seen these days. Thank you.

Omg what a great find. This little gem just off the A27 was just a perfect location. The pub is Circa 250 year, full of character with a number of original features. The staff are so accommodating and friendly. The food is super, great selection of wines and beers. We stayed over and the accommodation is modern, comfortable, clean (as you would imaging) with a good shower! Next time we’re visiting Worthing then the Coach and Horses is our go to place.

We enjoyed tasty paninis and drinks in the garden whilst on route to Chichester last month. The pub is very dog-friendly, with friendly staff, good food, grassed and paved outside dining areas as well as the bar/restaurant. Would certainly return next time we're in that area.

We had a fantastic couple of nights here. We were visiting our daughter who lives in near by Lancing and wanted a place just a little out of town. On our arrival, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, Dan checked us in swiftly and gave us useful information about the place. The atmosphere here is lovely, relaxed, comfortable and in very pleasant surroundings. We really liked the courtyard garden where there was a range of seating areas in the shade or full on sunshine. Our room was spacious, light and airy. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent (great water pressure) with large fluffy white towels. Breakfast was very good and again, the staff were welcoming and the atmosphere relaxed. It’s worth mentioning that the car park has more than ample space . We will be staying here again and have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone one wanting a short or longer stay in or around Worthing.

The staff here could not be more courteous, had a very good lunch cooked to order, and the accommodation clean and comfortable. A decent breakfast, and plenty of choice, well priced and we recommend .
