Very friendly reception from Martin on arrival who explained there would be no breakfast, but there was free snacks, cakes, fruit, porridge & fruit juice you could help yourself to at any time.
We stayed in room No 1 which was large and south facing towards the beach which had a large bay window with two armchairs to sit in to watch the world go by.
The room had a ensuite bathroom with a double shower which was new and there was good wifi reception in the room as well.
Parking was by a £1 voucher for all day from Martin which allowed you to park outside the guest house or surrounding roads.
The bonus for us this guest house has a bar in the basement with a small seating area outside looking over the promenade which was open from 2pm to 11pm Thursday to sunday run by our host Martin.
Overall it was a very enjoyable stay.

It was our first time visiting Worthing and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Marine View Guest House perfectly catered for our family of five in a single family room - we have 3 young children so this was important to us. The room was ample, given it accommodated a double and three single beds. Marine View is located right on the seafront and the view from our room was amazing. Parking was immediately outside, and a daily permit can be obtained from the Guest House for £1/day. Due to the current social distancing measures plentiful breakfast treats were provided in the reception for guests to take up to rooms which was a lovely touch. We would absolutely stay at Marine View again and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the Guest House to friends and family. Thank you for a lovely stay.

This was our second stay... as we enjoyed our first stay so much, we stayed longer this time. Martyn rewarded us with a larger room, it was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and had a nice hot shower. Our most enjoyable part of the stay were the mornings...Jane prepares a delicious breakfast and a pot of tea, and we were fortunate to have shared great conversations with Jane and Martyn. The Marine View Guesthouse is a perfect location to enjoy walks along the beachfront and many shopping and food options.

Just back from a weekend break and this guest house was in the perfect location being right on the seafront.

Amazing service from the couple who run it and it felt like they could do no more for us. From the small details of being able to obtain cheap parking permits to park nearby, to a smooth check in and taking the time to get to know us and look out for anything we need.

During these covid times their commitment to cleanliness and social distancing was great to see.

The bar downstairs is cosy and a great place to stop in for a quick drink.

A very good sea view room on the ground floor with an excellent bathroom and shower. Jane and Martin were welcoming hosts and helped us with the parking vouchers (£1 per day). The only downside was the breakfast provision (delivered to our room) which was on the sparse side and rather unimaginative. I don’t like ‘instant porridge’ in a cardboard carton to which one adds boiling water. I thought this sort of ‘pot cooking’ was dead! Why no packs of breakfast cereal and muesli with fresh milk. The yoghourts were good but it should be possible to bring in warmed croissants, butter and jam. Packs of sandwiches too? AND a small fridge would be really useful for the milk and cans of drink etc.

So glad that you enjoyed the room, nevertheless, your comments about the food provision reveal a complete lack of understanding about what Covid-19 has done to the hospitality industry. We have laid on a good quality, complimentary food selection because a cooked breakfast, or indeed a 'continental' style breakfast is not only impossible at the present time but unsafe for our guests because of food handling implications and social distancing issues in our dining room. We have had 17 weeks without guests, therefore no income, staff furloughed still and the prospect of only half a summer's trade to contend with just a husband and wife team. Many of our guests have enjoyed the porridge even if it was not to your taste, and we made a special journey out to provide you with specific items because of your dietary needs, though this has not been acknowledged. To arrive at any guest house /hotel and assume that normal service has resumed, implies that you are unaware of what has happened since March 23rd. I hope that you can appreciate our perspective as a very hard working couple who want their business to survive these unprecedented times and also want the best for all their guests. Best wishes Martyn & Jane

We booked a two night stay in a small room, it was small but ok. The shower was pathetic but we managed. It is an old building which is obviously hard to keep in tip top shape. The worst part however, was that we booked a B&B after seeing pictures of a cooked breakfast on line with a good rating. We were told on arrival that they no longer did cooked breakfasts but had a few complimentary biscuits, fruit and juice cartons on a table in the hall. So a reasonable rate became expensive when we added on the cost of breakfast.

You booked a small double (clearly stated) on a ROOM ONLY basis, which many guests have been very positive about. It is in excellent decorative order, the shower is spacious and brand new, the room, quiet and comfortable. We now provide a generous selection of treats in our reception area for guests to take to their rooms or take out with them for the day; pasties, fruit juice, granola bars, fruit etc. There is no charge for this and it was not part of your booking as your booking was for ROOM ONLY. Admittedly, we have images of cooked breakfasts on our website, but this is not possible at the moment, and in order to keep all our guests and staff safe, this element of the business is not able to function. Under these difficult circumstances, most of our guests accept this as being sensible and reasonable at this time. We have spent the last four years refurbishing this beautiful building and improving the business so that our guests can enjoy their experience of our family home and Worthing. Thankfully you will see from our other reviews that most other guests do appreciate how hard these times are for hospitality and are kinder and warmer in their comments. Our profound thanks to them all.

We booked the family room and were extremely pleased with both the size of the room and the fantastic sea view!

The guest house is a stones throw from the beach and in the evening you're able to sit out the front in the bar and enjoy the views. (The bar has an excellent selection of drinks with small meals / snacks also available)

Parking is available at a cost of £1 for 24 hours but you need to get special vouchers which are available from the reception.

I would highly recommend this place for for either a couple, family or business stay. The beach is across the road and you can walk into the town centre in less than 10 minutes.

Mark and I stayed for 3 nights in June, weather had been lovely the week before, sadly we went when the weather had changed.
When we arrived we were welcomed by Jane, who was lovely. We were up graded to a see view room......Whoop as the room was huge!
The bed was soooo comfy so we slept well. We’ve stayed at many hotels and I must say it was great to see proper cups to have a proper cuppa, not a tiny cup. At breakfast we had friendly staff Pauline and Paula who were very attentive and knowable about the area. Met Michael at Breakfast too, he was a nice fella.
We will definitely book to go back again. Parking works on vouchers which the hotel provides at a cost of £1 per day... Bargin.
The beach is literally across the road and all amenities are walking distance. Found a great pub. The Rose and Crown, round the corner too.
There’s a bus stop outside the hotel which goes to littleHampton and Brighton, Brighton is about an hour away on the bus if you don’t want to drive. Sit up stairs and you get a good tour! ++++++++++++

Martin & Jane were very helpful with every aspect of the visit for our family. We had to reschedule the trip a few weeks later the day before because of worries about our son and myself bring unwell and Martin did everything he could to ensure we didn't get charged for the cancellation by rebooking the room to other guest. I will be recommending the Marine View Guest house to all if my family abd friends that cone to visit us.

Room was clean and comfortable, opposite the beach and within walking distance of the town centre. Breakfast choice was excellent. Bar was warm and cosy complete with log fire. Light bar meals were available in the evening including mood music and changing coloured lighting effects.
