The Ardington Hotel comes highly recommended for its exceptional location, mere steps from the beach and surrounded by scenic beauty. Guests have expressed their fondness for the hotel's ambiance, describing it as both charming and inviting, with an emphasis on the clean, comfortable rooms. While some find the rooms slightly outdated and occasionally warm, the overall consensus is one of satisfaction, especially considering the reasonable rates. The hotel's amenities, including a quality restaurant and the much-lauded afternoon tea, add to its appeal, as does the outstanding service that many travelers highlight as a hallmark of their stay.

Travelled from Canada to this wonderful hotel - rooms are nicely appointed, beds comfy, bathrooms spacious and spotless, windows open to catch the sea air. Very comfortable and relaxing lounge area on the ground floor which you actually feel encouraged to sit and relax in with lots of carried seating options. Really nice bar area, great restaurant, terrific food (buffet breakfast was excellent with perfect poached eggs available). We attended multi-day wedding celebrations (evening before, day of, dinner and dancing) and the staff and quality of delivery/food was exemplary (great destination wedding spot for a modestly sized gathering; the hotel also did a terrific job of ensuring that guests not attending the wedding were insulated from any noise, etc… and advised when booking that this event was happening). Front desk and family owners never lost their smiles; kitchen dealt with my husband’s extensive food challenges with grace. Easy drive to the Seven Sisters, Petworth, Chichester and/or Arundel - a good spot to base yourselves for exploring the Southern Downs without the “tourist” feel of locations further east on the shore. Just a terrific stay - we’ll be back!

We booked one night stay with friends to celebrate a birthday on arrival at the hotel. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist who gave us our key to our room and information about breakfast. The Hotel had a lovely atmosphere on arrival. We went to our rooms It was a little dated but absolutely fine It had a wonderful big bed and the room was very clean. We met for drinks in the lounge with our friends before heading to indigo restaurant for dinner. The lounge had a lovely atmosphere as well with a great wine list very reasonably priced after the short time the owner of the hotel brought a menu for the restaurant we ordered in the Lounge ready to go through to the restaurant when our food was ready, when we entered the restaurant there was a guy called Paul playing the piano. He was absolutely incredible and we all loved the music he was playing. The two waitresses in the restaurant were very Warm and friendly, smiling all the time when our food arrived it looks amazing a châteaubriand for two, Lebanese chicken, and the most incredible tempura seabass with Thai curry sauce and rice, we stayed in the restaurant for a couple of hours listening to the music and enjoying the wine with the Owner of the hotel popping in for a chat from time to time, it was such a lovely evening, the hotel was tastefully decorated for Christmas. After a great night sleep in a very comfortable bed it was time for breakfast which didn’t disappoint such a large choice which was included in the price of our stay in the hotel, It’s so lovely to see a very well run independent hotel with impeccable service , all the staff made us all feel very welcome

Thank you all for making it such a great evening. We’re definitely be returning before Christmas

We stayed in the hotel and the rooms were so comfortable and clean we had a room overlooking the gardens and a sea view and the breakfast was serious and very varied . We also had our wedding reception for 24 people in the Eden room it was decorated beautifully and the food was amazing especially for the price we paid. All the staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us and our guests. We will be revisiting the restaurant again we loved it that much.

I stayed for three nights with my brother. We had single rooms. The room was spotlessly clean and was nicely decorated in a modern style. It was comfortable and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities - kettle, tea bags, coffee sachets and hot chocolate and milk packets, plus a welcome packet of two biscuits each night. They might want to consider providing complimentary bottles of water, which I have had at similar establishments. The bedding fabrics seemed very good quality.
However, on the downside I found the bed very hard and slightly creaky, so wasn't entirely comfortable at night. My room overlooked a flat roof and on the first morning, I opened my curtains to find a man on the flat roof outside my window, attending to some repairs. Consequently I didn't feel very secure at night and although the room was quite hot (no aircon but a fan was provided) I did not feel safe enough to keep the window open, which also made it hard to sleep well. In addition there was a large pipe/vent running across the flat roof and it made a constant noise, day and night.
The slatted blind was also slightly broken at the bottom and was hard to close.
Although the bedroom was very pleasant and quite contemporary in style, the ensuite bathroom badly needed modernisation as it looked like it had not been refurbished since about the 1980s and was very dated with that horrible non-slip "granite-look" flooring that you used to find in school toilets. There was no mixer tap on the sink and the hot tap was incredibly stiff to use. The shower cubicle was very cramped so showering was not a good experience and although the control was easy to use, once the water was hot, it became very stiff and difficult to turn the water off quickly without getting drenched in a jet of cold water.
I was disappointed that the attractive lounge bar did not have a TV as it was the night of the Paralympic Opening Ceremony and we would have liked to have sat in the bar and watched the ceremony over a couple of drinks.
The dining room was nicely appointed and the breakfast was good, particularly the fresh fruit salad. I noted that plant milks were not provided as standard. If I had been there with my vegan daughter we would have had to ask for them, but it would be nice if people didn't have to ask and they were just available.
We were not shown the menu on the first morning or told that we could request items if we did not want the cooked breakfast buffet and we were quite disappointed when we realised we could have had something different. However, on days two and three we were asked if we wanted anything from the menu and we ordered items which were fresh and well cooked. The waiting staff were pleasant and friendly.
Overall it was a good stay and I would stay there again, although would request a room in a different part of the hotel. It's a nice hotel in a great position but could do with refurbishing the bathrooms urgently.

25 guests, family and friends, joined us at the Ardington Hotel, Worthing, for a party to celebrate our 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary. We were served Afternoon Tea with Pimms and champagne in the Venetian Room from 1.00 pm to 5.00pm. The manager was very helpful in all respects and the staff were in all ways polite, friendly and professional. The food was exceptionally good both in quality and quantity and was commented on by all guests. Any requests were dealt with promptly and efficiently. In all, it was a most happy occasion.

We were not planning on staying in an hotel in Worthing so our booking was made on the day we arrived, and a very lucky choice for us. Every staff member was so welcoming, helpful and friendly from the moment we stepped in that we immediately felt at home. Our room was spacious with a large very comfortable bed and beautiful bedding! Sufficient tea/coffee/hot chocolate/biscuit selection for a few cups per day. We did not eat in the restaurant as we had family close by, but the full English breakfast menu was extensive, and beautifully presented. Ah, and the bar served the best Prosecco I have ever tasted!
All in all, a very comfortable and happy 4-night stay ... thank you to all staff members who made a hotel into a home.
With thanks and best wishes
Liz and Andrew Hanna, St Valerien, France

I took my daughter for afternoon tea and we could not fault the experience. I would definitely recommend this venue for a satisfying treat! The staff were incredibly attentive and we felt pampered. The food was excellent and plenty of it. So much so that a takeaway bag was provided as a matter of course due to it being the norm that customers do not usually manage it all! Great value and I was able to park almost outside. We will be going back for more very soon!

I travelled alone for business and arrived late at night. Despite the time, I received a friendly welcome and was pleasantly surprised by the size of my room and bathroom, which was cozy despite the freezing cold outside and nicely decorated. My room overlooked Steyne Gardens and I could see the sea from the corner of the window. Breakfast was excellent. I was a bit worried I might not find a parking space but there was parking right outside the hotel overnight in the street and then the hotel endorsed my parking the next day in the multi-storey car park on the other side of the square. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when coming to the area.

Richard & Simon made us all so welcome to The Ardington and Indigo, We were a national motorcycle group (Goldwing Owners Club of GB) who came from all over the country to have an after Christmas get together. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Food was excellent, rooms clean and fresh, disco provided on the Saturday evening had everyone dancing.
All the staff are a credit to the hotel, friendly and very hard working, both Richard and Simon have and were extremely attentive throughout the weekend.
Would recommend The Ardington for private or large gathering, or just a weekend break for two!

I have been staying at the Ardington for the past 2 months whilst having work undertaken on my house.

We have stayed in most of the local hotels, this is a hotel that surpasses all others. It beats the rest, the Ardington is “Simply the Best” !!

The cuisine is amazing and of a 5 star standard, a comfortable and peaceful lounge overlooking the gardens, a well stocked bar.

Owned and managed personally by 2 brothers Richard and Simon, who follow traditions, the results are stunning !! Our long stay was a true comfort to me, I felt so at home in the Ardington family.

Dear Diana B, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately due to the age of our building we do not have a lift. However we have a ramp which assists guests in going up the two small steps to our bar and also we have ground floor bedrooms available. Please do not hesitate to telephone us for further assitance and answers to any other queries you may have. Kind Regards,
