Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband’s words,” bloody brilliant I’m defo staying there again!” Coming from him it must be good. Jay the General Manager was 100% customer service. It is self check in but again Jay was on hand to assist from a phone call. Lovely clean rooms. Tea/coffee, fridge, microwave. En-suite. And the use of a shared kitchen. Everything you need.

Stayed here last night....lovely room...that's where it ended. Smell of drains in the bathroom, no drain plug in sink, just huge hole. Very tired, needs a bit of TLC. Shared garden from patio door, which the guests in the next room decided to use, arguing until 1.30am, then proceeded to continue inside until 5am, when they then decided to make up!!!!!! Walls so thin you can literally hear everything!!! Do not stay here if you want a nights sleep!!!!!!

There is no parking as advertised, only street parking and you can rarely get near the property. Stayed in room 4 and it sounds like a herd of elephants live upstairs, when they walk round the room shakes and the floor boards creek. This goes on through to the early hours of the morning whilst they’re stomping around they are taking and singing loudly. Got back to the ‘hotel’ after work one day and there was a strong smell of skunk where someone was smoking cannabis. At midnight on another occasion someone decided to cook a meal at midnight and besides the racket they made the whole room stunk of what they were cooking. The mess in the kitchen area is never tidy. A truly awful place, avoid like the plague.

The good: Clean, good location, feels safe and secure. Functional and certainly handy for a 1 night stay. Rooms are nice, feel modern and have everything you need. BUT be aware, this place is unconventional... No staff on site. You get texted a code and let yourself in. This would be fine if we weren't plagued with terrible neighbours. Got no sleep. Also, CREAKY FLOORS. If you aren't lucky with having good neighbours, be prepared to get no sleep at all. We contacted the manager and he came over and told them to be quiet. This was good service!! But unfortunately, they continued to make a LOT of noise the minute he had left.

Reserved this room on booking.com. The parking was in a very busy road which we could cope with as the 3 spaces at the front of the accommodation were taken. Room 3 felt like a garage extension - the temperature in the room was 9 degrees and despite contacting Jay the manager- nothing happened in the time space. We froze for an hour in a room with a massive cobweb - wearing our coats and waiting for the heating to come on. The icing on the cake was the dirty towel in the bathroom. We had to leave as we needed to find somewhere that we could shower and change to go to an event - having travelled 120 miles - we were determined to attend . Totally rank! After 9 pm we received a text saying the heating was now on- but it was too little too late.

This place was one of the best "affordable" places I've ever stayed. Check in was done via text instructions, and I was a bit skeptical, but so pleasantly surprised when I got into the room! And the kitchen facilities and back garden were a great bonus. The room was very comfortable and well supplied. My only suggestion is a short on the bed, because I found that the duvet was too warm but no duvet was too chilly. Otherwise, a very pleasant experience! Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for one night for easy access to grand station where my works Christmas party was being held. This aparthotel was ideal for a short stay. It was clean and modern and had everything that you need. The only reason why I didn’t give this five stars was there is limited parking which could be a problem, having said that it was well worth a try.

A short walk to KK's Steel Mill for a gig this overnight accommodation was excellent. Simple instructions to get into the property. We had a small kitchen with microwave and access to a lovely garden at the back of the property. We found the room well heated, clean with very adequate facilities.

When trying to cancel, they answered my first call and said no payment had been taken. Then proceeded to ignore every subsequent call (about 20) once I'd checked my account. Decided to go out of my way and stay there anyway, only to find no one available to let me in, and no one would answer the phone which just rings out to a mobile. Another customer was waiting for a pin code. Rain, dark, late. Not ideal. Also dodgy road. Only 2 places for parking so that's not true from the description. Requested a refund through booking.com. Holcombe House was a no show, not me!

We found it to be very comfortable and pleasant indeed. We loved the modernity and cleanliness of the room. The first class amenities were a joy - comfy, firm bed; TV, mini-fridge, microwave, comfortable table for dining on; very modern, clean bathroom and carpets. Especially enjoyed the ability to access Netflix and YouTube via the modern TV in the room. The film we chose left a lot to be desired but that was on us. We can't blame HH for that! Gorgeous views from upstairs onto the back gardens. Shame it absolutely bucketed down but on a dry, Summer's day II can imagine sitting in the garden to be a real, chilled out experience, especially with it being a quiet area. The room was very well stocked with refreshments and plates and cutlery. That came in very handy as we bought food from the local Waitrose to warm up and eat. There's also a MacDonald's and KFC literally around the corner. Holcombe House has the same spec as Coleman Studios and Glaister Studios, Wolverhampton. That's not surprising as it's owned and run by the same people. Being just 5 minutes drive/walk from the City Centre, other local shops and amenities made it very convenient. All in all we found this a very pleasant, nice, relaxing place to stay indeed and we'd stay here again.
