I stayed here for 1 night with my son while visiting family nearby.

The staff at the hotel are very friendly & welcoming and are on hand if you need anything.

We stayed in a twin room and it was plenty big enough with a decent size en-suite bathroom.
The beds were super comfy and the room was spotlessly clean.
Tea, coffee & hot chocolate were provided, along with a choccy biccy 😊

There are lots of vintage artefacts and quirky pieces around the hotel and these add interest to the building. It has lots of original features and although the communal rooms are quite dark, they are very much in keeping with the style of the building.

We had a cooked breakfast and this was well cooked and very tasty. There was also various cereals, fruit, jams etc and a large choice of teas that you could help yourself to while your breakfast was being cooked.

We stay in hotels in Wolverhampton every few weeks and after staying in several much more expensive corporate ones previously, we will be definitely be making Barons Court our number one choice as it is cosier and much better value.

I don’t have any criticisms but I have a couple of suggestions:
1. A toilet brush in the bathroom would be handy (I know some people don’t like them).
2. It would be good if sweeteners were provided as an alternative to sugar as I forgot to bring mine.

Thanks for such a comprehensive review. 👍 it’s nice of you to give compliments and also suggest a couple of things that might be of use to us. I am definitely going to provide sweeteners on request. Please visit us again when you are in the area and ask for a preferred room - if it’s available the it’s yours. 👍😄 John

A warn greeting by the owner and a simple registration process, and shown to our double room. Lovely view of the garden and Wolverhampton in the distance. The room was warm, comfortable, basic, but had everything you needed , including free wifi, and the usual equipment with plenty of complimentary tea, coffee, milk, and a welcome chocolate biscuit. .There is even a communal ice box, which was very welcome for the gin and tonic. The hot water was really hot ! So could be turned down a notch.
What really makes this place special, is the love, care and detail of the communal areas. Its like the Santa's Grotto of yester' year, curios and objet d'art at ever turn. This was our second visit here, and it is certainly not going to be the last

Charming public areas with lots of interesting artefacts. Two very pretty gardens. The decor in the rooms was a little tired but they were comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the en suite bathrooms were a very generous size. The hotel is on a fairly busy road so ask for rooms at the back if this is likely to be a problem.

Hi and thank you for your review and kind comments, the gardens do look nice this time of year we are one of only a handful that have private gardens to relax in. The cleaning staff are working extra hard at this time to ensure rooms are safe for our guests during this period of Covid 19. There are plans in the pipeline for a reinvestment into our rooms once things become more stable. We have had secondary glazing installed on the inside of the rooms on the front of the hotel to reduce road noise , as the hotel was built in 1909 as a private house and is now a listed building, there are restrictions on what can and can not be done with regard to new window casements etc. The system works fine when they are locked in but during warmer periods when windows are open for air , not so. Yes you are correct we do have rooms to the rear overlooking the garden these are limited but may be requested on booking if available . Breakfast will be resumed as soon as we can but hope the complimentary bags did the job. Thank you again Keith and team.

Arrived 2pm on Saturday. Keith very efficiently booked us in, showed us to our well appointed rooms and explained all we needed to know about the hotel and its facilities.
On the two mornings when we had breakfast. Tables set out for the three of us. Fresh fruit, cereal breakfast juice and a very comprehensive cooked breakfast, which seemed to arrive in no time. Even our fellow guests appeared to be the most pleasant of people to share the experience with. The hotel is full of character. A decent sized car park, and a very handy location for getting around town. Finally, super value.
Certainly, I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

I have stayed at the Barons Court Hotel during the working week for several months, whilst working away from home.

Keith the Manager and all of the Staff working there are always very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The rooms are clean and comfortable have en-suite bathrooms and are serviced and cleaned to a very high standard every day. Rooms have free Wifi, TV, coffee and tea making facilities and there is a large carpark at the rear of the hotel. Breakfasts are fantastic with plenty of choice on the menus. The Hotel is also nicely decorated at Christmas time and at Halloween..!

I would highly recommend the Barons Court Hotel, great place to stay and very good value for money.

I booked the cheapest possible deal with decent reviews for a business requirement. This can be a risky strategy, but not on this occasion. The room was fairly small but had everything there. The double bed was comfortable, everything worked. The bathroom was fine, with good quality towels. Both rooms were notably extremely clean; visibly, smell and touch.

There was some noise; voices, doors closing etc, but it did not go on beyond reasonable times so I slept well.

The building is a characterful Edwardian gem with a very pretty small garden in a useful location. The welcome was friendly and efficient. A continental breakfast in a paper bag is included (restrictions mean no cooked breakfast). I was also offered a bacon and egg baguette for £2.50 ... yes, £2.50. This was delivered to me hot in foil the next morning on the dot of when I asked for it and I needed no more.

I will certainly go back. My main point is that don't be mislead by the price, this hotel is a little gem and you go away thinking that you have just had amazing value for money, which is a good way to start a day.

Interesting place good size room but steep stairs to get to the room on the first floor lots of artifacts about the place. The room was clean but short of sockets had to unplug the lamp to plug the TV in Wi-Fi worked shame no bottles of water in the room also No food available had to go out for an evening meal. had an early start to my day No breakfast was available so it was room-only. good-sized car park to the rear busy main road slight traffic noise but would recommend a stay overnight.

I can't say enough about this lovely little hotel. Loved the place, its quirks and many objects of interest. Great service, great breakfast (which was great value), warm welcoming people, clean room, very comfy beds, nice garden areas, ample parking. We chose the hotel as a central location to be able to attend an event at the Civic Hall... an extremely efficient taxi service recommended by the hotel took us to and from (about a 5 to 10 mins journey, £5). Would highly recommend and would definitely use again should I be visiting the city.

The good points:

Huge room and bathroom, both clean and comfortable. Decent bed, although mattress too soft for my liking (personal preference). Huge TV but with dreadful intermittent WiFi despite there being a hub outside the door. Not too far from town centre and on a bus route. There is plenty of free parking at the rear of the hotel.

Not so good

Had to request a towel for the hubby as we were only given one and a hairdryer as there wasn't one in the room (ladies will understand how much a pain it is to drag your own bulky hairdryer). There was no WiFi code in room and when hubby mentioned it whilst getting a towel and hairdryer it wasn't offered. The heating was on all night and we couldn't turn it down/off and even with the windows open, it was quite stuffy.

It is advertised as having breakfast but they had no chef. Shame, as the dining room was lovely. I'm surprised they didn't offer continental.

The shower didn't work initially and when we mentioned it, we were told that it should as it was recently refurbished. When we did eventually get it to work, the water was freezing cold. An electric power shower should give instant hot water. Luckily there was a hand held shower attached to the tap. So we managed.

A couple of things which I found slightly worrying. There was no evacuation procedure on the back of the door. Every hotel I have stayed in, both UK and abroad, has this on the door. There was a copy on the reception desk, but we didn't notice it until we were leaving.

The other thing which my husband said could potentially be dangerous, was the piping to the taps. They were the wrong way round. They should be hot to the left, cold to the right. He's a construction manager, so knows about these things. The taps weren't marked so anyone with a visual impairment might be in for a shock.

All in all, not a bad hotel but not brilliant either.

What a find!
Despite visiting Wolverhampton regularly and previously living there I had never heard of Barons Court. How could I have missed this gem of a hotel.
Pulling up onto the driveway, first impressions were oh wow.
Walking into reception WOW. Barons court is beautiful, with a suit of armour and early 20th century toys and memorabilia. Keith was welcoming, helpful friendly and after sorting out breakfast arrangements showed us to our room.
The room was spotless. Beds very comfortable with crisp white bedding.
Kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate and 2 chocolate biscuits bars were supplied.
There was a hairdryer in the drawer if needed.
The room was lovely and warm, bathroom immaculate with an over the bath shower and towels supplied.

Breakfast was fantastic ( can you tell I love this place )
Stella was knowledgeable about food allergens and ingredients in the food she was serving. Gluten free bread and dairy free butter were readily available upon request. Cereal, orange juice and fruit were there to help yourself whilst Stella was busy preparing a freshly cooked delicious breakfast.

Good transport links into the City centre which is about 5 minutes by car

We will definitely be returning to Barons Court whenever we need a place to stay in wolves.

Hello. We don’t have great wheelchair access. It’s an old Edwardian building which is very restrictive internally for doorways. Sorry!

Hello I can't be 100% sure but would say no. It is a small private hotel. The rooms are all close together. There are few rooms so you won't cross many people in the public areas and corridors. So unless the children are very young you could just ask for rooms next to each other.
