The Coachmakers Arms is a cosy pub where a warm welcome awaits everyone. The three lovely en-suite rooms are accessed via a separate entrance and situated over two floors. Rooms 1 & 2 can both be configured as a double or twin room and each has an additional single bed to accommodate three people. Room 3 is a double room perfect for a couple or single occupancy. Housed in one of Wallingford's oldest buildings, the Coachmakers Arms is a friendly pub close to the heart of the town and just 300 metres from the River Thames. We offer a small but delicious menu currently being served from the garden grill on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only. Please ask for more details regarding meals as I am more than happy to provide some options by arrangement during the week. Breakfast is hearty and freshly cooked to order. You can select a breakfast to suit your taste from the various components of a full English, or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, all served with a pot of tea or fresh coffee and orange juice, followed by toast and preserves if you have any room! I look forward to welcoming you to Wallingford and hope you enjoy your stay. Lynne

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic village pub with a landlady you couldn’t beat… Lynne is a lovely lady and her dog Beau is friendly too! Great locals, good food and the best pint of Guinness I have had in a long while! Highly recommend staying here… the rooms are comfortable, clean and tidy and the breakfast is amazing…I will definitely return.

A beautiful cosy room for the night, a warm welcome for my dog, a great pub 'buzz', excellent food, both evening meal and breakfast, and such a thoughtful landlady. I will be back, bringing husband, daughters, friends, for further stays...

what can I say! We loved our stay. This is the little gem of Wallingford! prior to our visit communication with Lynne was superb, we were so looking forward to staying at the coachmakers arms and it did not disappoint! Our room was lovely, very comfortable and had everything you would need, even a little fridge with a fresh bottle of milk! the food was delicious too! 6 of us ate in the bar and our meals all came out together with lovely fresh ingredients. We visited with our dog and a few friends that were staying nearby as the coachmakers was fully booked. This is a very dog friendly b&b, the best I’ve stayed in, from the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble and we felt so at home and our dog enjoyed it as much as we did! Lynne even gave our dog and our friends dog a lovely meal too so they weren’t left out! I would not hesitate in recommending a stay here, we will definitely return next year, possibly twice!! so please don’t book to leave room for us!

Beautiful room, great facilities and friendly staff. However, there was a large green ‘ emergency exit’ light on all night in our room which was very bright, and made it hard to sleep . Despite there being a fan- the room was also too hot as it faces the sun all day.

Really friendly pub with excellent rooms. We stayed the room at the top which had everything we needed after a long walk by the Thames. Large room, clean and fresh. Very friendly and helpful host and excellent breakfast. Wallingford is a pretty town, worth a visit

We loved our one night stay with Lynn. The room was small but well appointed. The garden and pub were a perfect spot to enjoy breakfast and a drink. We loved this town and would definitely stay again.

The rooms are above and behind the lively little traditional pub in a centre of town location. Lovely welcoming owner and staff. The rooms were clean, warm and comfortable. It had a superb bar, which even served my favourite Gin. We would definately recomend and stay again.

We loved our one night stay here. The room was clean, cosy and comfy. Breakfast was really good. Lynda was very welcoming, and the staff, running the bar and waiting on tables were friendly and efficient. Lovely to see Fair Trade tea in the room, along with fresh milk, dispensed into small glass bottles. It’s quirky, and you need to be able to manage steep, twisty stairs, but so worth it. Parking is away in the long stay car park, but really only a couple of minutes walk. It was free from 5 pm to 9 am, which suited us fine.

Such a friendly host and bar staff. We received a very warm welcome and were in Room 1. Very comfortable bed, although overlooking the beer garden with windows closed the noise didn’t penetrate and could also just join in with the regulars if you wanted who were also very friendly. Spacious room, fresh milk for tea and coffee which is a lovely touch. Delicious breakfast with yummy orange juice and coffee. Lynne and the dog, Bo, definitely the highlight though, very attentive and friendly! I swear Bo led us to our table for dinner the evening of our stay - highly recommend the pizzas! Thanks for a lovely stay.
