Two night stay using gold card promotion. Room very spacious with all we needed. We had evening meals in the restaurant which had a lovely atmosphere and a tempting menu. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Throughout our stay the service provided by all the staff was outstanding. Everyone was friendly , knowledgeable and efficient. The hotel has good and bad points. The dining area was welcoming and waiting staff were very friendly and did everything they could to be helpful. The food was generally good (the omelettes were excellent) and the house wines were very reasonably priced. However, there was some variation in quality depending on who was the chef for that night. The...

The George Hotel is centrally located in the historic market town of Wallingford. It has a lovely rustic bar area and serves 3 good quality ales. Bar staff are knowledgeable of their products, are friendly and efficient. Rooms in the hotel are pricey but are of good quality and clean. Even if you are not staying at the George it...

I stayed at the George as was visiting relatives in Wallingford. Apart from B&B's this is the only hotel in Wallingford town. We ate in the bar and the food was very nice, the bar staff friendly, the decor fitting for an old historic pub, lovely open fire. The bedrooms - I had not specified a room when booking, there...

Small but friendly hotel with a car park. The Christmas lighting was a lovely effect in the entrance courtyard. Our executive room was reasonably spacious but a 2nd chair would have been nice for a double room. There was no traffic noise in the room but the hotel accessed High Street which was handy for the few shops. There is...

The buffet on boxing day was very disappointing it looked as though we had the left...

Been going to the Christmas Party nights with a group of friends for about 20 years, the food was particular good this year and the staff were very efficient, helpful and friendly, even though they were serving about 100 people at the same time. It is good value for money. The music was a selection of 60s through to current...

The George is very accommodating, the friends and I enjoyed our Christmas dinner before the disco on the saturday evening, 10th December 2016. Our compliments to the chef, a lovely 3 course meal. It was entertaining from start to finish, well done to all the staff who made our visit enjoyable and fun.

We are a group of ladies who like to dance and enjoy a good quality meal! Well we certainly danced all night to a varied selection of 60's, 70's 90's and current music but prior to the dancing we were treated to a really excellent meal. I had the pate which was delicious and was served with toasted brioche. This...
