Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed one night in the Cuckmere room. Lovely walk through woodland from the station. Annie, the host, was very welcoming and made me a cup of tea when I arrived. Lovely, comfortable ensuite room. I was very impressed that the toilet is twinned with a latrine in Ethiopia (the certificate is on display! 😄). Annie was very accommodating regarding the timing for breakfast (included in price). I was walking to Buxted the following morning to meet a hiking group so needed to leave fairly early. A very impressive breakfast menu! I had scrambled eggs on toast, all cooked on the again and eggs from chickens on site. Very clean and tidy with lots of character. Have mentioned my lovely stay there to a lot of people and I would definitely stay again!

Myself and two colleagues had a fabulous time staying at this feoegous b&b. It was tucked away and a little hidden, but once inside you'll never find a place with more character and charm. Annie was a very kind and gracious host and cooks a mean breakfast. The place feels almost more like staying with family than in a hotel.

The complementary decanter of port in the rooms was also a delightful surprise.

If I am down in the area again, I'll definitely stay again.

One gem is the building that's really old and full of character. Second diamond gem is Annie who runs the B&B. She was welcoming, friendly and lovely and also full of character. Room was excellent. Port, chocolates and shortbread were a great bonus. It's around a 30 minute walk into Uckfield via a country route. Would highly recommend Old Copwood.

Annie is a great hostess and really ensures the rooms are clean and well equipment. Even port! Would highly recommend Old Copwood. Free wifi and parking and delicious food. Nothing is too much for Annie to ensure your stay is just perfect. Love sitting in the kitchen just chatting.

We only spent one night here while attending a function in Uckfield, but would have been very happy spending more. Tastefully decorated and furnished B and B in very quiet location with lovely views. Excellent breakfast and a great welcome. Thoroughly recommended.

Old Copwood..
to start with a negative. Hard to find... arrived in the dark and its not well marked..
but when you do find its lovely. arrived late 11pm but had arranged first..
a colleague and i were working in the area, i had the double room, really well laid out, extremely comfy bed and lots of little extras that make the difference, home made shortbread in the room, chocolates too! tea and coffee facilities and TV.
this is a period 17th century property with so much charisma,a few creaky floor boards and low level beamed ceilings. very clean and presented well... i loved it.
Anne is welcoming and nothing seems any trouble. i had a late breakfast of scrambled eggs, freshly laid by Anne's Chickens, silver cutlery and china plates.
an absolute gem..
would recommend and certainly stay again. worth the 5 stars all day long!!

Annie is a warm and welcoming host at this quirky b&b. Set in a 17th century cottage literally on the middle of nowhere, the three rooms (1 ensuite) are huge, very well appointed and above all quiet. All have kettle and tea/coffee and biscuits, port and a huge very comfortable bed. Breakfast was served in the dining room with a good variety of cereals. Cooked breakfast made to order. Thank you Annie for a lovely stay. We hope to become regulars.

After struggling to find anywhere to stay in the area for a last minute booking, we were so happy that there had been a cancellation at Old Copwood and we could get in! Annie was a wonderful host, looking after us really well and being very accommodating with our baby son, providing a travel cot, highchair at breakfast, and anything else we needed. The quaint cottage is lovely and characterful, though we did find we could hear the television loudly from the next room as it was an adjoining doors to ours but this was probably just a quirk of that particular room. The bathroom was huge, as was the bed. Breakfast was delicious and lovely to be able to chat to other guests at the table. The shortbread and port were a really nice touch too! Thanks Annie!

My daughter and I made a last minute decision to go to a family party but hadn't organised anywhere to stay - then we stumbled over Old Copwood B&B and found a little slice of heaven. Annie made us so welcome. The bedroom was wonderfully comfortable with stylish additions of shortbread and port as well as tea and coffee. The bathroom was warm and cosy with slightly eccentric plumbing which was totally in keeping with an old farm cottage. Best of all, Annie dealt easily and charmingly with her three boistrous grandchildren whilst serving up the MOST delicious breakfasts to all five of her overnight guests. The whole experience was a total delight. Thanks for a great stay

We wanted a B&B while visiting for a family event nearby and we really struck lucky with Old Copwood. Our room was very comfortable with everything we could need, and some we didn't know we needed but certainly made room for, as in the delicious home made shortbread and the port! Given directions to a pub just a couple of miles away we enjoyed a very good meal, then returned to relax in the comfy guest lounge. Breakfast was delightful both for the food and the surroundings. Annie is a lovely host, friendly and helpful, and we will certainly return if we are in the area again. What a superb B&B. Thank you Annie.
