The couple running the show Steve and Trish are amazing. Such a welcoming place. Trish even cooked up a couple sausages for our pups each morning taking care of all of us. Comfortable and cosy. Would definitely revisit!
We stayed for a 2 night weekend break, lovely little place away from it all. Trisha and Steve are fab, nothing is too much trouble. Good breakfast, we don’t eat sausages or bacon, but we had more than enough with poached egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash brown, beans etc. Plenty of toast with real butter. The bath is amazing, lashings of hot water without having to run it through. Room is lovely and clean, well decorated with tea and coffee, sweets etc. Bed is huge, very comfortable, we slept well. Thank you Trish and Steve an enjoyable visit.
My partner and I got given a voucher for a weekend away and chose this place to stay. How glad we were! The owners were so accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us! The breakfast was great and rooms were clean and cosy. Our dog was very welcomed and we ended up having a lovely stay- i’d like to mention again how lovely the owners were, they were so helpful and it really makes the stay extra special! Thank you for such a fabulous stay!
Steve and Trish are great fun as hosts - you couldn't ask for a friendlier couple - if you ask, and they have it, you will get it. Be relaxed and chilled and you will have a great time - they understand that their guests are here to relax. We're delighted they've just got their 5* food hygiene rating - that doesn't happen easily. The hotel and our room were simple, clean, and completely off the beaten track - we had our room window open on the "main" road overnight and heard no traffic at all. For our evening meal we had the biggest and best gammon steak ever.
Off the main road but easily located with sat nav. The owners gave us a warm welcome and had gone the extra mile by having soya milk available for me in the room because of a dairy allergy. They produced a great evening meal with good variety and fresh produce. Nothing was too much trouble and the TV worked well.
A lovely old building oozing charm. Trish & Steve could not be more welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, ensuring a relaxed & comfortable stay. The bedroom was cosy with nice bed linen & towels. Good wifi connection. Everything spotlessly clean. A very good breakfast, everything cooked order.
Have been twice recently for a Sunday roast. Both times excellent roast. Generous portions with more available if required. Three choices of proper, carved meat and veggie roast option. Four types of vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, plenty of gravy, lovely crispy roast potatoes etc etc. Staff very friendly too. All at very reasonable price. 3 course menu available, but we only managed one! Will definitely be back soon.
Stayed here for two nights . Tucked away just outside Tavistock did take us a little time to find even with Sat nav . Friendly greeting on arrival , we where in room 1 although basic was very clean with small t.v. and Wi-Fi. Also lovely and quiet this we relished as we live on a main road. We used the restaurant and found the food good and service excellent. The menu is quite limited but they do offer vegetarian options which was good. Breakfast was ok myself and hubby are not big breakfast eaters so didn't partake in the full English so toast is toast!! If you want a place that's peaceful and quiet small and unpretentious and a short driving distance to Tavistock with friendly staff and good food then I would recommend this place to you.
Although the hotel is down a quiet country lane in Devon it is well worth a stopover here. The hosts are most welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The rolm are very comfortable. Wifi access is good considrring the remoteness of the hotel. The bar is well stocked and the ambience is pleasant. The selection and offering of food is of a good quality. I have no reservations in recommending this hotel to everyone.
My husband and I booked to stay here as a last minute getaway as we had an activities superstore two night stay voucher to use up, we have 2 dogs so needed somewhere we could bring them too. The owners and staff were so friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble, they made us and our two jack Russell’s feel at home from the minute we arrived. Our room was clean and homely and even though we only stayed for two nights it was cleaned and our used towels replaced. There was a complimentary tea tray with the addition of some yummy biscuits and a jar of sweets, We stayed in room 3 downstairs that had a lovely view of the garden. We ate in the hotel both evenings, the menu wasn’t huge but there was a decent selection of good pub style dishes and the food was good and plentiful, we had the fish and chips one night and I would highly recommended it, tasty cod with home made beer batter. The coach house is in a rural location on the outskirts of Tavistock down a twisty narrow lane, it feels slightly isolated when your there but it’s only a few minutes drive to civilisation. Luckily we were not the only people in the hotel and we had 2 lovely evenings sitting in their cosy tv lounge enjoying a few drinks with the other guests. This was our first experience of taking our 2 (rather spoilt) fur babies to a hotel and we were a little worried how they would be welcomed as not all supposedly dog friendly places are that dog friendly really, however they were treated just like us and were welcome in the bar and tv lounge and they made themselves at home in front of the roaring log fire, even the other guests made a fuss of them. We would definitely return here and have already recommend it to our other dog lover friends and family. Thank you Trish, Steve and team for a lovely couple of days.…
