This is the second time of staying here. Last time was in summer so hadn't noticed what the heating situation was back then. Arrived at 4pm and no-one was around to meet us. We didn't know what room we were in so we tried to find the owners in the bar area. Doors were unlocked but lights all out. No...

Hi, we are glad to hear you enjoyed your food and previous stay. We are sorry that no one was there to meet you, it is usually explained on the phone when booking and states on the website that because we are a pub that shuts between 3-6.30pm, if you wish to arrive between these hours we need you to...

Just off of the beaten track but well worth the short excursion into the country lanes out of Mary Tavy to the hamlet of Horndon. A lovely B&B on the side of a brilliant pub, so only a short stagger back to your room. Plenty of parking. They have 3 rooms. One with a private patio. Quality/comfortable bedding and towels...

A wonderful one night stay on route to Cornwall. We had room 1 which was ground floor and had a private courtyard patio that was brilliant for our dog. Evening meal was excellent as was the breakfast with so much choice.

thanks for visiting and the positive review. Room 1 is the best room we have for dogs as it has extra space and the patio leads out to the garden.

Used to eat here many years ago in the evenings after walking on the moors with our dog. Always said we would return one day and stay. Taken us twenty years, but here we are. The room was beautiful with our own private patio and the beds very comfortable with lovely white bedding. The evening meal was excellent as was...

We stayed here on our way to Cornwall and would recommend this inn. Our room was clean and comfortable, with lovely white bedding and an ensuite bathroom. We didn't realise when we booked, but this particular evening in the month was quiz night. Whilst enjoying a good meal we joined in with the quiz. The other people in the pub...

We went here with our family a group of 8 ranging from 1 year old to 83 year old. It was a glorious day so we had a table in the garden. We had to wait quite a while for our food and were a bit annoyed that they did not bring the children's food first, this always makes life...

Very pleasant 3 night stay with our dogs. We booked the ground floor bedroom which has the most beautiful enclosed courtyard garden. Superb breakfast enjoyed I the Inn's dining room and we also enjoyed a couple of excellent evening meals too. Beautiful building and gardens.

Driving home last Sunday, and noticed a pub sign Elephant's Nest Inn. So glad we followed that sign, the pub was full but managed to get the last table. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The food fantastic, the Sunday roast was delicious the beef cooked perfectly. We will definitely come back to this gem of a pub.

Booked a table for two with no problems - very busy evening - advised to order promptly as large group booking - food was excellent - local Sams cider Poundhouse and Autumn - great beer garden. Friendly staff - can't understand comments about grumpy owner!! - will definitely call again. Lovely pub with very pleasant surroundings.

A bit apprehensive when we first saw the Inn from the road as it looked a little tired. Large potholes on the entrance to the carpark were a bit worrying. Need not have worried, rooms very modern, clean and comfortable with lovely views over Dartmoor. Meal booked for 20.00, friendly greeting from bar staff. Although we were early for our...
