My fiancée and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Beera Farmhouse and we can honestly say that it was the perfect place to relax and get away from it all. We received the warmest possible welcome from Hilary who went through all the current Covid information before showing us to our room then offering us a cream tea - unexpected and totally delicious!! (the lightest scones you can imagine!) The room was spacious, spotless and extremely cosy. The bed was incredibly snug and comfortable, the bathroom lovely with a superb shower, and tea making facilities with a really generous array of teas / coffees / biscuits/local fudge etc. The location of Beera is absolutely stunning, with a superb view over the valley to the hills beyond. It is SO peaceful - so if 'getting away from it all' is what you're looking for, there can be few better places to stay. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with a really good choice. Hilary is the perfect hostess who - despite being incredibly busy - was always ready to stop for a chat while serving. The only thing we didn't sample was dinner at the Beera, which Hilary offers at a reasonable price. Judging by the cooking smells on Monday evening, dinner would have been amazing as well - we were almost sorry to have pre booked a restaurant that night! All in all, we cannot fault anything about Beera. Everything from the room to the service Hilary offered was of the highest standard. Our main regret was that we hadn't booked a longer stay!…
My husband & I stayed at Beera farm last autumn. We had the most wonderful time. If you’re looking for somewhere to relax and recharge, I would highly recommend this homely retreat. We were greeted by a warm welcome on arrival with a superb cream tea, we enjoyed indulging with this sitting outside taking in the fabulous views of the countryside & watching the local wildlife (especially the pheasants trying to eat the food from the bird feeder). Hilary & Robert are wonderful hosts, the food was amazing and the beds were really comfy. We love long walks, and were amazed at the beautiful walks to be enjoyed in the Tamar valley. One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Lydford Gorge. Beera farm is amazing, I can’t wait to come back!
Another lovely stay at Beera at the beginning of September! Hilary's precautions against Covid-19 continue to be extremely good and reassuring, and our visit was a welcome dose of warm hospitality from Hilary and Robert, great views, nature and fresh air. Beera provided us with an experience of "normality" in the current situation. And the icing on the cake - one of the dogs had just had a litter of puppies!
I recently stayed at Beera Farmhouse for 3 nights as part of a working trip. If you are looking for peace, tranquility & exceptional home cooked food, this is definitely the place for you. The owners are wonderful people and have done everything possible to address any COVID worries you may have. I would book again without hesitation when I return to the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
For us, this was pretty much a perfect B&B. This is a gorgeous location, and it's run by a charming couple. The bed was comfortable, the cooked breakfast really delicious, the views were great, even the shower pressure was impressive! It's hard to find anything negative to say... mmm... I suppose there aren't that many dining options within easy striking distance. The local pub is adequate, but if you're fortunate enough to be staying on a night when Hilary is cooking, that's definitely the best option! We loved it and hope to come back again.
