This site is set in a very convenient location. The welcome was very warm and friendly and everyone was helpful. However, due to the amount of rainfall the ground was very soggy. This did not cause a problem on the 'dry' side of the site, where there are gravelled roadways leading to all pitches, but we were allocated a pitch on the so called adult side, which we hadn't requested and the track leading to pitches was just a complete mud bath. We were told that the gravelled areas on the dry side were freshly laid- so why not extend it to the adult side?? The irony of this is that this site is not a child friendly site in any case as there is no play area or any facilities, such as even a swing or slide, for children. My grandchildren would be bored stiff if we brought them here. Also I was very curious as to why anyone was allocated to pitches on the muddy side when there were 5 or 6 vacant pitches on the dry side when we arrived on the Monday, and they remained mostly vacant with some being taken up on the Wednesday. The owners need to address the distinct lack of gravelled tracks leading to the pitches on the wet or muddy side, as I call it, as a matter of urgency as this site clearly has a drainage problem as the ground is extremely wet. Once rectified, this would be a very nice site for a short stay, but as it is I would not return unless I could be assured that I would be pitched on the dry side. I would also not recommend to anyone unless they did the same and definitely not recommend it for anyone with children. As it is it should be an adult only site with potential visitors being fully informed of the state of the track to pitches on the muddy side, if they is where they are going to end up being pitched.

Stayed over weekend as stopover on the way home after visiting family in Wales. Facilities were excellent, site well kept, warm welcome on arrival, ideal for town centre and riverside walks. Only negative is the approach road through industrial estate but didn’t spoil an otherwise excellent stay. Woul recommend and return.

Having been slightly put off by some previous reviews we are so glad we went. As others have said, the approach isn’t the most beautiful but once sited the surroundings are lovely with spacious pitches. We were a party of 3 units and the team were very accommodating on putting us, and other groups together. We were met by lovely staff who we saw throughout our stay going above and beyond in what they did to help first time campers! Toilet block clean and site kept beautifully. Perfect situation to walk to the town (Morrisons a five min walk) and had a lovely meal at the Man of Ross. We stayed on the adult pitches , the road noise didn’t bother us, but there was playground noise from the children’s park behind (not part of the site), and teenage music. Loved being able to arrive early Friday and leave later than club sites on Sunday. Will definitely visit again

Really lovely site. Little oasis. There are industrial units by entrance, but not a problem. Visited Monday and Tuesday, but not disturbed by noise. Road noise not that noticeable either. Perfect for town. Morrisons at top of the road, ideal position for town, walks, pubs, etc. Garden centre with cafe in easy walk. Lovely clean facilities, and a hair dryer that actually dries your hair. All facilities you need. Pitches a good size. Will definitely be visiting again. 5*

Our first time here, Friends had recommended this site to us. Was greeted by a very nice gentleman who we followed to our pitch. We requested the adult only area if possible. He explained where everything was to us . We had our Dog 🐶 Chester with us who liked his walks around the fishing lakes, Dogs must be on a lead at all times . The lake area and site is immaculate. There are two toilet blocks which are spotless. A plus for us was being able to arrive at 12 pm not like the caravan club sites that now all seem to be 1pm . There is some road noise, but this did not bother us. Do not be put of when arriving by going through a small industrial area . A five minute walk from site you reach a Morrisons supermarket. From there it is another five minute walk and you are in town. From site to down to the river is about a fifteen minute walk walking through the very pretty town. We ate at the Royal hotel which has a massive outside area with layered balconies. The views are amazing, so was the food which we went three times over 3 days. We can not wait to go back again.

Just returned from our first trip to Broadmeadow, had booked for 8 nights but had to leave after 3 nights, did not expect any refund but on returning home had an email to say they have given us the money back as credit for a return trip which is very much appreciated. The site is a brilliant location for the town as easy walking distance so was able to leave the car and have a drink over the Coronation weekend. The site is kept very clean and tidy but the grass was a bit boggy due to the amount of rain. The wardens were great as saw us leaving and came over to help as the caravan had sunk into the grass. Will definitely return.

We hadn’t visited this area before and were delighted - stunning area with lovely friendly people. Broadmeadow is a fantastic site and very handy for the town. Good old Morrisons at the end of the road. Friendly, helpful wardens . Visit from The Beefy Boys (dont get over excited - they sell burgers - delicious ones!. ) We had to leave a couple of days early due to dental emergency but we are so looking forward to returning.

Just back from a 3 night stop at this beautiful site. Within a easy, short walk into the town and a Morrisons a few minutes walk from the site. The site and the facilities are immaculate. Yes, you do have to walk/drive through a semi industrial site which to be fair is only a handful of mainly a bus repair and MOT station a scaffolding yard and a second hand car dealer but as others have mentioned before once on the site it’s quite and peaceful. We did hear occasional road noise but nothing at night. We found the wardens and admin staff to be very pleasant and helpful. We are fairly new to motor-homing and if the rules say not to arrive before a certain time, then we arrive at or after that time. However we did see several caravans and Motorhome arriving and pitching up before the allotted arrival time, so maybe they are not that strict on arrival times. We did find it a little frustrating that we were not allowed to hang any washing out anywhere so drying the towels had to be done inside the van (just a small niggle). We would certainly come back again and recommend it to others.

Stayed here for a week lovely spotlessly clean facilities and wardens polite and helpful. WiFi not that great although that's not shown on Web site. Only short walk to town centre shops, restaurants and pubs. Advertised free fishing, but heard there's No fish in the 2 beautiful lakes if that the case I think your missing a trick.
