Glewstone Court Country House is a family owned and run iconic Manor House dating back to 1709 with original Georgian and Regency features. You approach the property past a magnificent 400 year old Cedar of Lebanon. Our restaurant holds an AA 2 Rosette Award for its innovative menu and the use of quality, fresh local ingredients; organic and free-range whenever possible. It has a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere that permeates the bedrooms, lounge bar and restaurants. Herefordshire is superb walking county and although the Hotel is a 'hidden gem', you're still only 3 miles from Ross-on-Wye. Alternatively you can relax by the log fires, or on fine days laze in the gardens with a glass of beer, wine or bubbly!

Stayed for two nights over Valentine's Day. From arrival to departure staff were welcoming, courteous and helpful. Rooms well equipped and serviced. First night we were the only overnight guests so were privy to a very special breakfast served in the lounge next morning.

As I pen this review, something is telling me not to. The reason for this is quite simple. I don’t want to find there is no room availability when I next visit the area. If you read this review, you should quite rightly be thinking “Wow. We should visit” Yes indeed you must.

We first went to Clewstone Court last year and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We booked a second visit. Unfortunately, ill health intervened and we were not able to visit until February this year. We choose a time when the weather was not very good and there was a sprinkling

Four of us visited on the 9th Feb. It was a fabulous country house. The homemade food was absolutely delicious. The staff were so welcoming and did everything to make our visit special. It really was and we looking forward to the next visit.

The Forest of Dean is about 15 mins by car. It is one of the greatest and oldest indigenous-tree forests in the country, a place loved by film crews because it is so astonishingly scenic. There are loads of cycle routes through the forest. Apparently I'm not allowed to post weblinks in this answer but if you search for Forest of Dean cycle routes you'll come up trumps. Enjoy!

"Fabulous Wedding"
"Both of the rooms we have stayed in were excellent, comfortably appointed, warm, and with a good en-suite."
"Our room was quiet in fact due to structure of building I don’t think any rooms would be noisy."
"YOu'll be fine in any room. I ended up in the Wordsworth which was lovely. The bathroom is particularly nice with a heated floor."
"small double room was very small even for one person."
