On a journey back from South West we took the back road and stopped off in Ross on Wye. A very good place to stop and visit. The Castle Lodge was a very quiet and very comfortable place to stay. The rooms were very nice and would not hesitate to stay again whilst ttravelling that part of the counttry.

Has our work christmas party, was expecting usual not too brilliant food we usually have on party nights, but very pleasantly surprised, love homemade tomato and basil soup, nice and hot with crusty bread, the turkey was beautiful and tender, great roasters and veg, friends who had the vegetarian option said it was really nice. Have to say the best... More

We needed a good value Sat night stop over near Ross on Wye and this place certainly provided it. It's a little care worn looking on arrival but a lovely very adequate room had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Quite quirky decoration but we enjoyed the character of the place. Having failed to book anywhere to dine locally... More

Warm welcome on arrival. Room was spacious and clean, bathroom was large and airy, gained by going up a few stairs! Bar and restaurant area very pleasant. Food was excellent, we had soup and tempura prawns for starter, lamb shank and steak for mains. The breakfast room was very nice, good choice from cereal, fruit, yogurt and various hot options.... Had a nice evening meal on arrival and the owner was really friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was served in a pleasant dining room and was a really nice full English (or... More

We were lucky enough to be treated to a meal here by visiting family members who visit this hotel regularly. It was a very fine meal and the service was superb. I had the Moroccan Lamb which was delicious. I recommend this venue for a special occasion.

My wife & I visited Much Marcle for the Big Apple Festival & decided to make a little break of it. She chose this hotel as it was the cheapest in the area. Good choice. Our room was very clean & tidy, tastefully decorated and with a modern bathroom. The owner is friendly & helpful. We didn't eat here because... More

Although the food was good the room left a lot to be desired, the bathroom in particular was grubby, the basin cracked, the window had no blind and the loo seat was split, it could do with a makeover. The breakfast was ok, The food was good value although the 8oz burger was 2x4oz??
