Detailed Reviews
I’ve stayed here a few times now, alone and with a friend, and honestly cannot find fault anywhere. The Breverton is situated in a peaceful area on a quiet tree lined road, yet close to the town and not far from the beach, giving it the best of both worlds. There’s parking on-site too which is always a bonus. The single and twin rooms are a decent size, with incredibly comfortable beds, and, if Andy’s breakfast wasn’t beckoning (see below!), I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to drag myself from under the covers before lunchtime! There really is excellent attention to detail such as bottled water being provided on a daily basis, in addition to the usual hospitality tray provisions, whilst there’s little touches like cotton buds, makeup removal pads and even sanitary bags in the bathroom. The attention to detail was even more evident during my last stay when Norah anticipated that we may have been feeling chilly, due to the particularly cold weather, and brought an electric radiator into our room to make sure that we were warm enough.
Norah, whose character, mannerisms and sharpness somehow remind me of a much younger version of Maureen Lipman (meant as a compliment, Norah!!), is unquestionably the consummate host but when it comes to the kitchen, Andy’s credentials cannot be doubted. Breakfast really is a scrumptious affair, with an excellent choice of cereals, including a full range of cereal toppings (several different varieties of nuts, seeds, dried fruits), different yoghurts including Lancashire Farm Yoghurt which my friend loved, fresh fruit, either whole or made into a fruit salad, fruit juice, homemade preservatives - the list is endless - all before Norah takes your order for a freshly cooked breakfast. There’s no skimping on cheap produce either; tip top quality is the order of the day. Considering the quality, I always think that prices at The Breverton are extremely reasonable.
Difficult as it would be, if I had to try and single out the Breverton’s main strength, it would probably be the two lovely and hard working hosts and the genuine welcome that they offer. Norah and Andy have to be two of the friendliest hosts in the hospitality industry; long may they continue at The Breverton!

Have been coming to The Breverton for over 5 years now and would not go anywhere else in St Anne's on Sea. Norah and Andy are just fantastic; the perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are always helpful and friendly and we just love coming here year after year.
The bedrooms are superb and roomy and spotless and the breakfasts are simply delicious with everything and more you could want. Andy's home made potatoe cakes are legendary!!
The hotel is situated on a quiet road about 5 mins walk from the promenade and there are plenty of parking spaces both on the property and on the road near to the propery.
Needless to say, we will be returning again next year.
Thankyou Norah and Andy for a great holiday.

We were only staying overnight en route back home to Scotland, and we arrived a little bit earlier than we expected as we were desperate to escape the Sunday crawl of cars on the promenade. It's changed since we used to visit in my youth!
But Andy and Norah didn't bat an eyelid, let us dump our bags in our room and then head off to visit an old friend from many years ago.
What a lovely, quirky place The Breverton is with all the fascinating odds and ornaments, plus the beautiful stained glass windows throughout the house' Andy and Norah are such pleasant hosts, with nothing too much trouble for them, even to them digging out a length of string for us to attach flowers at the cemetery! True helpfulness.
After visiting our friend, we simply strolled down the road from our B&B to nearby hotels, cafes and restaurants where we had a tasty Italian meal at a corner restaurant before returning to our room.
I don't think that I'd have liked to spend a whole week in the room as it was really quite small, but it was spotless and after all, we were only staying one night. Very comfy and we did sleep well.
Breakfast was a lovely experience in a delightful sun room with a terrific selection of cereals, fruits and a delicious local yoghurt followed by an excellent cooked plateful. A great start to our journey home.
This is a real gem of a place, full of character, homeliness and a very special couple of hosts with a true dedication to giving customers excellent service at a more than reasonable price. Where else could you stay for £70 for two of us including an excellent breakfast?
Well done, Andy & Norah....long may you continue!

Thank you Strachanna2013, it's lovely to know how much enjoyed your little break with us. Regarding your room size, we were conscious of your request for a room not too far up the stairs and lots of guests request the room in question as it has the lovely seating area overlooking Orchard Road where you can sit and read or just watch the world go by.

One of the nicest B & B's of the many we have stayed in. Excellent position 5 minutes walk from the centre of St Annes, with parking on the drive. Disabled facilities in one room. Rooms cleaned daily to a very high standard (many places are excusing themselves lately from servicing rooms, using Covid as an excuse...) with nice hospitality tray, water, biscuits, mini fridge, micro, ironing board and iron, hairdryer, all provided. Covid safe property. Lovely decoration and ambiance. Well kept garden with tables and chairs to relax and lots of games to play. Fabulous breakfast, red hot plates, made to order with good range of cereals, fruit, yoghurts etc. Norah and Andrew are lovely people, could be charging a much higher rate for the service they provide.

This is our fourth visit to this wonderful “home from home” hotel. Norah and Andrew can’t do enough for you. Norah went way over expectations, especially today trying to arrange a mobility scooter hire for me. We rang them about 6.15 from Llandudno on Monday evening to see if they had a vacancy in the disabled room and they said yes and prepared everything for us whilst we drove the 119 miles from Llandudno after being badly let down by a hotel there. I would urge anyone to stay here. Brian and Jean xx

Having discovered this gorgeous B&B earlier this month we're home after our second stay in the last 2 weeks, which should speak for itself! If you're looking for a B&B in the area look no further, Norah & Andrew are charming hosts, the property is spotless & very tastefully appointed. The breakfast is huge, excellent choice and very high quality fresh ingredients, including some home grown. In every respect nothing is too much trouble. Easy parking on the large driveway or on the road which is a lovely quiet location, minutes walk from the restaurants, bars, shops & the beach. We are looking forward to returning in the next few weeks. Thank you both again for 2 fabulous stays.

We stayed at the Breverton for one night last Saturday and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
Warm and friendly welcome from Norah who made you feel instantly at home. We arrived an hour before our check in time and they were more than happy to let us into our room and just asked that we waited 5 mins for them to finish off hoovering.
Room was lovely- spacious, immaculately clean, we liked the little touches like bottles of water, a mini fridge and little extras in the bathroom like cotton pads, cotton buds and sanitary products if needed.
No pre ordering of breakfast the day before here which we liked! Free to go down to breakfast whenever we liked between 8 and 9:15. Lovely tasty breakfast cooked fresh to order, as much tea, coffee and juice and you liked. Nothing was too much trouble.
We will definately return here when we next visit St Annes. Thanks for a wonderful stay 😀

Stayed 2 nights over Lytham Festival to see Snow Patrol. What an amazing hotel! Norah and Andy tend to every detail to make their guests' experience the very best. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get out of it, the linen fresh, the rooms well decorated and equipped with a small fridge and a microwave. A lovely touch leaving chocolate for a late night snack 😋 The breakfast was out of this world, served with a cheery smile and a chat, with just about every option available! The hotel is in a quiet location, but only a fewminutes walk from the shops, cafés and bars, as well as the beautiful seafront, pier, rail station and bus stops. Definitely one of the best places I've stayed and would book again if I'm ever in the area again.

Home from home, I hear you say? Not where I come from! When I read reviews about places being home from home, I start to wonder about how other people live and whether there are lots of travellers who have maids at home! Well, I certainly don’t and there’s never a time at home when I get up in the morning and come downstairs to find somebody, full of smiles and banter, prepared to wait hand and foot on me and serve me the most delicious, high quality breakfast - and I mean truly scrumptious. Neither is there anyone to check that I’ve had enough to eat before whipping away my dirty crockery when I’ve finished. Neither have I got bedroom fairies who, after I go out, mysteriously enter my room and make the bed and leave some nice supplies on a tray enabling me to make a drink and have a nibble on a tasty biscuit when I get back. Home from home? Oh how I wish it was. I’m just off to change my own bed now! Before I go, though, for those who truly don’t want home from home, go to The Breverton where Norah and Andy will come up trumps and ensure that your stay with them will be truly delightful.
