Home from home, I hear you say? Not where I come from! When I read reviews about places being home from home, I start to wonder about how other people live and whether there are lots of travellers who have maids at home! Well, I certainly don’t and there’s never a time at home when I get up in the morning and come downstairs to find somebody, full of smiles and banter, prepared to wait hand and foot on me and serve me the most delicious, high quality breakfast - and I mean truly scrumptious. Neither is there anyone to check that I’ve had enough to eat before whipping away my dirty crockery when I’ve finished. Neither have I got bedroom fairies who, after I go out, mysteriously enter my room and make the bed and leave some nice supplies on a tray enabling me to make a drink and have a nibble on a tasty biscuit when I get back. Home from home? Oh how I wish it was. I’m just off to change my own bed now! Before I go, though, for those who truly don’t want home from home, go to The Breverton where Norah and Andy will come up trumps and ensure that your stay with them will be truly delightful.…
Can't fault the Breverton .Andy &Norah were great hosts always there to help. The rooms are spotless and done with great style and Imagination. The breakfast was awesome with loads of choice. Will be booking again.10/10
We have grown to love St Annes and being a 50 minute drive away it is perfect for short breaks. We stayed here recently for two nights in a top floor room which has a bathroom with shower over and good water pressure and is a good size bathroom. There are toiletries provided and nice soft white towels. A quirky bedroom with a random mix of furniture with a comfortable bed. There are two comfy arm chairs with a small table between. There is a velux window and blind in all 3 areas. There is another area that is useful and has a microwave and a great cold fridge and there is a table with two chairs. We have booked this room again later in the year. There is some parking on the forecourt for about 5 cars and some street parking. We manage to park on the forecourt and Norah said we could stay there after check out which is 11 am It was lovely suggestion so that we could spend the morning walking round but there are plenty of 90 minute space along the front if you go early. The word quirky is perfect to describe this BB but the real selling point is the addition of a large modern bright airy breakfast room over looking the garden. I feel qualified to say the breakfast here is one if not the best we have had as during the pandemic we have stayed at BB / Hotels many times. Prior to the pandemic we always went abroad. The owners Norah and Andrew are a great team, she has exceptional service skills and he is a great chef and all round friendly informative guy being from the area. They pride themselves on providing the best of ingredients Lancashire has to offer. We are proud to be from Lancashire and loved the way the sourced lovely bacon and sausage and even a Lancashire style yoghurt which my husband said is delicious. There is a buffet style help yourself to an amazing array of cereals with lots of seeds, dried fruits, to add to your choice. There is fresh orange juice brought to your table. The fresh fruit choice is amazing or you can have prepared fruit which was so fresh and delicious. Not forgetting the tables are set with lovely fresh cream table clothes and napkins. The motto is have a relaxed breakfast experience and this is what we had. No mass cooked food here and food is served hot and most important not swimming in grease. The toast is prepared for you. We like a slice with our breakfast and one slice with our marmalade or jam. No little pots of bought preserves here, homemade is offered. The butter is small cubes and we got our second hot toast with a fresh little dish of butter. I have noticed that most BB now have gone over to continental style buffet breakfast. ( We had the misfortune recently to book an hotel last minute offering this but one guest coughed so much over the toaster and bread area that we skipped our breakfast.) Everything is covered at the Breverton and believe me the breakfast sets you up for the day. Norah and Andrew are happy to point you to nice places to eat. I had already booked the Imli ( superb Indian a short stroll from this BB and the set menu here is amazing value 5.30 - 7pm every evening but for Friday and Saturday and I believe all day Sunday.) We wanted something lighter not a Restaurant for our second night and on their recommendation we tried St Annes fish bar. Perfect fish and chips and again walkable. Great suggestion and the dining room is lovely. It is busy Friday and there were no specials that day. Still great value and the food is hot and freshly cooked. The Breverton is a perfect choice is you want to be in centre close to all the Restaurants and bars and best to book direct as they don’t feature on booking.com etc that much and it is cheaper. It was how we came to learn of the BB but we booked direct with Norah. Thank you both for a great stay and see you later in the year!…
We are just back from a delightful 2 night stay at the Breverton, Nora and her partner were the perfect hosts throughout our stay, coupled w comfortable rooms and Super tasty Lancashire breakfasts made our stay very memorable, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again:) Keep up the Great work ✌️
Just back from 2 night stay. Fabulous hotel in a good location. Brilliant friendly hosts nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic breakfast with quality ingredients all cooked fresh to order. Lovely clean rooms with comfortable bed. Thank you so much. Would definitely recommend
We came across the hotel by chance when we decided to stay in St Annes for the night The hosts Andy and Norah were superb and so helpful. The room was spotless and very comfortable The breakfast room is lovely and bright. The choice and quality of food available was excellent. The location is in the centre of St Annes which was exactly what we wanted. We even had a few drinks in Andy and Norahs local The hotel is a hidden gem
This b and b is excellent, very central location, being minutes away from bars, restaurants and shops. The beach and pier are also within a short walking distance, lovely quirky furnishings and an amazing breakfast The hosts are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
I’ve stayed here a few times now, alone and with a friend, and honestly cannot find fault anywhere. The Breverton is situated in a peaceful area on a quiet tree lined road, yet close to the town and not far from the beach, giving it the best of both worlds. There’s parking on-site too which is always a bonus. The single and twin rooms are a decent size, with incredibly comfortable beds, and, if Andy’s breakfast wasn’t beckoning (see below!), I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to drag myself from under the covers before lunchtime! There really is excellent attention to detail such as bottled water being provided on a daily basis, in addition to the usual hospitality tray provisions, whilst there’s little touches like cotton buds, makeup removal pads and even sanitary bags in the bathroom. The attention to detail was even more evident during my last stay when Norah anticipated that we may have been feeling chilly, due to the particularly cold weather, and brought an electric radiator into our room to make sure that we were warm enough. Norah, whose character, mannerisms and sharpness somehow remind me of a much younger version of Maureen Lipman (meant as a compliment, Norah!!), is unquestionably the consummate host but when it comes to the kitchen, Andy’s credentials cannot be doubted. Breakfast really is a scrumptious affair, with an excellent choice of cereals, including a full range of cereal toppings (several different varieties of nuts, seeds, dried fruits), different yoghurts including Lancashire Farm Yoghurt which my friend loved, fresh fruit, either whole or made into a fruit salad, fruit juice, homemade preservatives - the list is endless - all before Norah takes your order for a freshly cooked breakfast. There’s no skimping on cheap produce either; tip top quality is the order of the day. Considering the quality, I always think that prices at The Breverton are extremely reasonable. Difficult as it would be, if I had to try and single out the Breverton’s main strength, it would probably be the two lovely and hard working hosts and the genuine welcome that they offer. Norah and Andy have to be two of the friendliest hosts in the hospitality industry; long may they continue at The Breverton!…
This is a really nice place with lovely hosts! Andy and Norah are down to earth, genuine, kind and helpful people. The room was clean and had exactly what was needed. The breakfast was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Overall a fantastic experience and well worth another visit.
Whole place was spotlessly clean. The hosts were excellent and if back in the area for stay would have no hesitation in going back there again and would recommend to anyone. Great location for beach and very easy access to the attractions in Blackpool.
