We visited with friends for afternoon tea. The hotel is immaculately clean, with contemporary decor and the staff friendly and welcoming. Our food etc were freshly made and well presented. The hotel has good facilities, great sea views and ample parking. A good choice if you’re visiting the area.

We stayed 2 nights at The Clifton Arms and didn't want to leave! This is the most perfect hotel and we couldn't fault anything. Our room was modern, spotlessly clean, very comfortable with a sitting area next to the bedroom and the biggest bathroom we have ever seen! (Room 107).The staff were so welcoming and remained friendly and kind throughout our stay - always attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfasts were amazing and the food was hot and freshly cooked. We had dinner on our second night and it was beautiful. A delightful dining room with food that tasted delicious and presented in the most attractive way. Our compliments to the chef! The lounge near reception was extremely relaxing and we enjoyed chilling for a couple of hours reading our books by the fire and watching the world go by. Staff asked if we wanted to order drinks and were always on hand should we need them. Special mention to Dominic and Pam. Perfect location for walking into Lytham and the Lowther Gardens. We will definitely return and for a longer stay. Thank you so much!

After a very busy time caring for two elderly relatives, I desperately needed a break so headed to our bolt hole, The Clifton Arms. What a wonderful hotel. The minute you step into reception and see the warming fire, you relax. We forgot to ask for a bath in our room and found that we only had a shower, but within a minute, we were given a different room. The day, Valentine's Day, was cold and windy, but everywhere in the hotel in so warm. The restaurant is so beautiful and we have never had a meal that wasn't delicious. It's also so nice to see the same staff who are brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble and they are so pleasant. I would point out Harriet, who was our waitress at the perfect Valentine's evening with a beautiful ambiance and lovely pianist, not to mention the first class food. She was so adorable and personable. Certainly someone to keep. We were told that the hotel will be closed from January to March next year for alterations. Please don't turn it into a faceless hotel like any other and get rid of the wonderful seating area and dining room: if it isn't broken, don't mend it. The Clifton Arms certainly doesn't need mending. So thank you all so much for the lovely relaxing two days that even storm Dennis couldn't diminish

Thank you for your recent review. Harriet very much appreciates your lovely words and we are all delighted that you had such an enjoyable, relaxing stay with us. Thank you for choosing to celebrate Valentine’s Day with us! The team work very hard so are extremely grateful for the praise and detailed feedback. We can also assure you that the planned refurbishment is to improve the hotel further and a new kitchen is very much needed, hence the closure, but this is very early days and not confirmed yet. We look forward to welcoming you again soon! Kind regards, Victoria
