The room was nice and big and had a sea view. It was a bit too hot so we had to open the window, but better too hot than too cold. The décor could be better, a bit bare, a picture or two and a standard lamp would be good, wardrobes looked cheap and had a distressed wood look as...

We are regular visitors to the Clifton Arms Hotel. We return mainly because the staff make us feel extremely welcome and it feels like home from home. We sometimes meet regular faces which is lovely as we can enjoy a 'catch up'. The meals are delicious, particularly the breakfasts which give you a very good 'start to the day', and...

Had a good night at the Clifton. Everyone made us very welcome, reception, bar staff and breakfast manager all very friendly with great service. Really enjoyed our stay, great location, tasty breakfast. Room faced out onto the bay, local bars and restaurants all close by. Free car park. Our room was clean, bed comfy.Bathroom seemed recently tiled. The only slight...

We arrived at 5pm we had booked a directors suite I wouldn't say the room was worth £180 for the one night as it was quite dated and lacked ambience plain cream walls with one picture. the ceilings are high, there was a brown old wardrobe in the corner that wasn't really looking right. However the bed was really comfy...

Our National Trust Supporters Group booked its New Year lunch here, having had an excellebt meal there in 2016. Regrettably the second visit was a disappointment. The service as before was excellent with more than adequate staffing to take care of fifty of us. The quality and the quantity of the food was `mediocre in particular the main course. Myu...

Just returned from a 3 night stay which included New Years Eve. The staff were all wonderful especially Russell in the bar area. Could not have been more helpful. Thank you , Russell. We have stayed many many times. Unfortunately this time our room was slightly tired . and had a small double bed, considering this was a top end...

This is my first choice of hotels in the area on my regular trips north. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are pleasant, clean and spacious. Breakfast is fantastic. That coupled with a good selection of restaurants in close proximity and 'the taps' pub just behind it, with its great selection of real ales, this will probably remain my first...

This hotel is local and I have been there for meals and various events over many years. I met up there with a friend on Thursday for a hot drink and a chat. We met in the reception lounge at 13.45 and the area was fairly quiet. We had a pot of tea for two which is pretty standard. Equivalent...
