Excellent in all ways, couldn’t fault this place. Staff, food, atmosphere, room. It was a last minute recharge battery charge break.
The best place for a mini break away. We will be back soon.
Thank you

I just had the pleasure of the best Sunday lunch for at least 20 years, the 12 hour cooked beef brisket was exceptional and best ever wonderfully tender , great gravy super Yorkshires and grest fresh veggies, the £12.50 price tag is pretty exceptional tooo. Heard that the beef comes from Owtons . well they should be proud..... best Sunday lunch in Hampshire ? you bet

My husband and I had a wonderful couple of nights here. We were met with a friendly welcome and were able to check in before the given time. The room we stayed in was bright, airy and clean. The facilities were good and there were toiletries in the bathroom, which came in handy as we forgot shower gel! The pub has a good location with onsite parking, making it the perfect place to park up and explore Lymington on foot. Although the weather was very cold, the pub including our room was warm and cosy. The bath was a bonus, which I took full advantage of after a cold day out exploring. I can recommend Beaulieu House a short drive away, and the Lymington Nature reserve for a beautiful walk or run. The breakfast at The Bosun’s Chair was just amazing! Fresh, good quality products, cooked very well; all served with a smile. If I were to stay in Lymington again, I would defining choose The Bosun’s Chair.

While the service was very good, the actual food was a disappointment in that the mains we ordered were far too small, more of a starter size than a main. I guess when the waitress is asking if you want to order some chips with your Caesar salad, that should have been a hint. The food itself was ok but just completely unacceptable to sell as a main for over £12 of such minuscule size. My partner’s flatbread/pizza looked like a children’s size. I’m guessing the idea is to motivate customers to order a dessert which we chose not do. Would not return.

We needed to stay over in Lymington as we were booked in for the tasting menu at The Elderflower. Some hotel's either not available, or rooms offered elsewhere were at extortionate rates. Friendly welcome, pleasant atmosphere. Room 1 was basic, but had all your needs, good size and a comfortable bed. Full breakfast included which was great. Parking was a bit of an issue, Permit parking is everywhere in Lymington and the car park was full when we arrived on Saturday afternoon. However I spoke to someone working at nearby Industrial estate and he was fine to leave car whilst we visited the town. When we returned the car park was empty, so able to move. Very close to all amenities including bus terminal and railway station.

We arrived to a warm and welcoming smile from Ingrid who made us feel very welcome. We stayed in Room 1 which is directly above the bar and faces the road. The room was clean, warm, light and had copious amounts of tea coffee and biscuits. The bed was extremely comfortable and with the exception of the stormy weather outside which tended to rattle the sash window, the room was acceptably quiet with no unwanted disturbance from other guests or from the bar below.

The food is extremely well prepared and presented, Natasha always has a friendly smile and provided excellent service. The bar is lively with a good mix of age groups and a friendly atmosphere. At breakfast we were greeted and served by Kevin who looked after us very well and proved he was equally talented as a breakfast chef and front of house host.

Last but not least we appreciated the service provided by Jack who provided a professional bar service and willingly replenished the tea coffee and biscuits for us from the housekeeping cupboard up on the third floor.

To summarise, a great little pub with tasty well served food, a good range of local beers, tastefully decorated interior, comfortable accommodation and a professional team of hospitality staff. I have no hesitation recommending this establishment. Thanks for a memorable stay.

Just returned from a two day stay at Bosuns chair and I couldn’t fault it! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating for us, by always checking we had everything we needed but also for just being so lovely! The drinks selection at the bar was brilliant, breakfast was very tasty and hot with plenty of selection.

Our room was lovely and spacious, immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The mattress and pillows were so comfy and we slept well despite it being the hottest day of the year.

There is a lovely outdoor covered area where you can have drinks and bar snacks which was lovely to meet the rest of our party before going off to a local wedding.

The hotel is situated right by the station but don’t let that put you off, we slept with the windows open and didn’t hear a single train. The hotel is in the centre of the town with a short walk to local restaurants and the high street. They also provide parking which was a great bonus.

I can honestly say that this hotel ticked all my boxes and would definitely stay again if we return to Lymington.

Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so chilled!

The Bosun's Chair is an excellent location for exploring Lymington and takes 5 minutes to walk into the centre. The room was large, light and very clean and all the staff were lovely. Free car parking as well as water and biscuits in the room was a bonus too. There was some noise from the pub leavers as we had the windows open but I would still definitely recommend the hotel and would stay here again.

Great location, very friendly staff, simple menu brilliantly executed... Very glad we stumbled upon this place. Really well spaced out tables inside and a fab garden with a brilliant shelter in case of inclement weather... Can't recommend it highly enough..

Visited Bosun's Chair for lunch last week. My first visit but my husband had been before. Good food, great company. Friendly waitress wearing a mask which was excellent. The garden has been redesigned with Covid in mind and the tables are well spaced out and in the winter months, the waitress informed us there would be gas heaters for those of us not wanting to sit inside the pub.
Excellent location.
