Value
A friendly, family run guest house since 1987, highly recommended by our regular guests who return every year. We are situated on the seafront between Lowestoft's two piers, directly opposite the award winning south beach. Five bedrooms - 4 en suite, 1 private facilities. Three rooms have a superb sea view. Just 5 minutes walk from the railway and bus stations and the town center, we find this a great place to live as well as to holiday.

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights and found it to be a great place to stay.

The owners could not be friendlier, the rooms were spotless and it was well located. I thought the price including an excellent breakfast was very reasonable considering the location and would happily stay here again… however the owners are retiring after 34 years as on next weekend (Saturday 28th August)… a rest that is very well deserved.

Great two night stay. Thank you.

My husband was unexpectedly taken into hospital while we were enjoying our anniversary trip to the area, so I found myself staying for a night at the Wavecrest b&b, with very friendly hosts who I felt I'd known for years. It was very much like home from home for me as I used to live very close in a house almost identical. The house is beautifully furnished, lovely, and clean, with the best ever mattress which enabled me, despite worrying about my husband, to have unbroken sleep until my alarm.. don't ever remember sleeping a whole night before and my bad back was actually pain-free for the first time in many years!.. usually I can hardly move in the morning when I wake. My bedroom was lovely and large with seating in the bay window, and a few yards across the road is the promenade with chip shops, coffee shops, and souvenir shops.. keep walking uphill to a little park with a pond, bowls, and a coffee shop. Breakfast was socially distanced and offered a tasty vegetarian menu option as well as the traditional. I hope to stay again and would highly recommend.

A very warm welcome was received as soon as we arrived. A lovely B&B, great value, awesome breakfast and delightful local knowledge. We stayed for 3 nights and slept well in a clean, tidy and functional room with a good shower. The ceiling fan ran whisper quiet at night helping us stay cool and comfy. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a place to stay for a few days and I liked the look of this guest house. I made a booking through bookings.com as I saw a lot of good reviews. Well it lived up to it all. This is in a nice location around 8 minutes walk from the railway station. Mark and Sue are very welcoming and can't do enough for you. The rooms are very clean and very importantly the accommodation is Covid friendly. The breakfast was very nice and there was a good choice. You are very close to all the local amenities. Iwill definately be back.

I stayed two nights over the Summer Bank Holiday in the single room on the first floor facing the sea. I arrived in the afternoon by train and knew that the owners wouldn't be in to greet me, though I hoped the person who'd open the door for me would give me a friendly greeting. A man, who didn't even introduced himself, let me in, showed me my room and left me with my house keys and instructions for the bath and internet password. It was all very curt and I felt a bit disgruntled.
The room itself was alright. It was clean and tidy, and there was big single bed with towels lying on the duvet, a table and a wardrobe (which had broken doors). The window overlooks the street which wasn't as quiet as I was told, especially during the day, and there's a big parking site before you come to the promenade and the sea.
It got very noisy at midnight when drunk, young people left the pub which is 300m away. I know that the owners can't be blamed for those people but they should have made me aware of this pub.
The bathroom was across the hall with a shower, toilet, window and basin, offering shower gel and shampoo in the mirror cabinet.

The breakfast was alright with cornflakes, toast, coffee, tea and English breakfast but I missed a bit the fresh local food I'm used from other B&B's, not packaged jam and butter.
The house and the neighbours were quiet, so that I can tell that I slept well (as soon as the drunks had passed the B&B).

The bus station is about 12min and the train station about 7min from Wavecrest Guest House. It's easy to go by foot to the city centre which is between the train station and the bus station.

I stayed for three nights last month in a very comfortable twin-share room with great views. We were made very welcome by Sue and Mark and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I was on the road for seven weeks and Wavecrest rates very highly for me. Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of free parking across the road. Sue and Mark were very friendly and helpful but without being overbearing or intrusive - not all hosts get the balance right but they do. Thank you!

A comfortable, clean and well appointed Guest house right on the Lowestoft seafront.
Conveniently situated close to the town centre but not on a busy road. Delicious cooked breakfast made from locally sourced produce. We had a lovely short stay and were well looked after by the owner, the wonderful, friendly Cassie.
