What a beautiful place to stay.
The rooms are large and well appointed.
En suite large bright and airy.
Everywhere is spotlessly clean.
Military regalia in every room and the whole of downstairs is steeped in military history.
The Hosts Mr and Mrs Ashworth are welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
The icing on the cake- the hotel is situated a stones throw from the promenade with free on street parking.

The Kitchener's Memorial Holiday Centre is a fascinating place. We stayed there for one night whilst cycling The Wolf Way. Nothing was too much trouble and we were invited to leave the bikes safely in one of the lounges over night. The chap in charge was very welcoming. The downstairs had a huge amount of military paraphernalia on show and if you needed any information on any of it, he knew his stuff. The rooms were neat enough with everything you might need, and we had a twin room with a fantastic sea view out of a large bay window. Breakfast was well cooked, tasty and refuelled us well for the day's cycling. My only problem - and this is a personal problem - is the mattresses on the beds are very soft. My back needs a firm well-supporting mattress. But that's me and my back issues. Some people like a soft bed. So overall we would recommend a stay at Kitchener's Memorial Holiday Centre. It is good value and run by really nice friendly people.

This hotel is a charity hotel for ex serviceman and woman but at the moment taking non service folks do to covid finance restraints. The hotel has a lift to all floors. There is a games room with a snooker table and plenty of board games, there is a tv room and a room with a couple of desktop pc's in you can use.
Our room was basic but practical, you can ask for a little fridge to be put in your room which we did. I would recommend asking for one at booking so its there when you arrive.
The breakfast was very nice which you pre order the day before. Your room number is your table number and when you arrive they start to cook your breakfast. There is toast, cereal, fruit etc to help yourself to.
The breakfast items were of a good quality and cooked to perfection.

Have now stayed several times in this beautiful historic building. Being ex Forces I feel at home and the staff are so friendly and welcome. The whole place has been recently renovated and the rooms are now bright, modern and fresh-,with stunning views of the sea and beach from the front rooms. Have been fortunate to be staying whilst veterans breakfast club, which is held on 2nd & 4th Saturday morning of each month(picture attached). Would 100% recommend this to anyone whether Armed Forces/ Emergency services or just a lovely place for anyone.

Our second stay here. We stayed with two children aged 6 and 8. This is one of my favourite places I've ever stayed in. Clean rooms, lovely views, wonderful service and the friendliest staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. I would move in if I could! The hotel is in a great location, directly opposite the beach and a stones throw away from arcades, pubs and eateries. We can't wait to return next year!

Just returned home after a short 2 night stay, but what a wonderful place. It is a retreat for serving members and veterans of HM Forces and blue light services.
Rooms are clean and tidy and have your basic needs beds are really comfortable.
Breakfast is cooked by Andy and he didn’t do a bad job for a Matelot 😂.
The whole place is full of memorabilia and various uniforms from all services plenty of books to read or DVDs to watch, there is a snooker table if you wish and an Honesty bar for your drinks.
There is a regular Veterans breakfast on a Saturday morning which is very well attended (about 80 odd when we were there).

The views from the sea view rooms are fantastic, we were room 9.

We will definately be back as all the staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome.

As a bonus, if you hold a Defence discount card, military ID or a Blue light card a discount is available on room rates.

This place is a gem . The downstairs is more like a military museum which you spend hours just looking around at . Great stocked honesty bar which is very reasonably priced . Room was spotless with a comfy bed and a great sea view , we simply could not ask for more . The breakfast was perfect . It's all set in such a relaxed atmosphere, due to been the only guests their at the time as it was very off peak we had the place to ourselves but we sort of felt at home .Being ex army it was like staying at a family's home not a hotel. We recommend this place 100%

We often visit The Kitcheners for events and we absolutely love it. If your looking for somewhere to stay in the Lowestoft area then The Kitcheners is perfect. Ash & Caz and their staff will go out their way to make you as comfortable as possible and make sure you have a fantastic time. The whole set up is just brilliant and the location is perfect for families as it's right opposite the beach and the pier. All round great place to visit and stay. Thank you to all the team at The Kitcheners for all they do.

This place is like a home from home. The Veterans and Blue Light breakfast clubs are a real bonus to the town and a massive credit to the staff, management and volunteers. Our group has benn coming every month for three years now, in varying amounts. I've been to some excellent talks and events here too and feel really welcomed every time - and there's always a greeting when I am spotted out abd about too! Love the place.
